Political Relevance: High Lord Leonardo is one of the most fanatical Catholic purists in Finara. He is particularly noted as being almost violently misogynistic and homophobic and is frequently openly at odds with the more liberal minded, modern majority of the clergy in Finara. It is worth noting that no member of the Imperial Family has ever taken a priest taught by of of the same theological mindset as Leonardo as a personal confessor. It is generally believed that Leonardo owes his position as the Lord Chaplain of the Empire to his birth as a high lord and not to even the smallest degree of favor from church or state. He has frequently been in power struggles with the Archbishop but has not yet used his position in the imperial household to openly defy the church.

Position: Lord General of the Order of Light
Political Relevence: George is a great champion of old fashioned chivalric virtues. He is known as a staunch proponent of honor, courtesy, and honesty. He uses his power and influence to seek to curtail sophistry and intrigue and is a favorite of the imperial family.

Name: Galileo
Position: Lord Seneschal
Political Significance: He serves as a scapegoat for Leonardo's followers and also an antagonist for even the most conservative members of the clergy. He is a nearly shameless hedonist. Many of the younger nobles sow their wild oats on trips to Galieo's palace where fabulously charming parties and even shameless orgies are rumored to be held. No high born woman under 50 is ever allowed by her male relations to travel to his palace.

Position: Lord Chamberlain
Political Relevance: A staunch supporter of High Lord George, this pragmatic leader brings the same ideas of honor and simple honesty to the practical and economic affairs of the kingdom that George does to the knighthood. A simple, unpretensious man, Nicolaus is highly respected by the commoners.

Name: Paracelsus
Position: Lord Chancellor
Political Relevance: A consummate schemer, he always strives to align himself with whoever is winning. He seeks to have his hand in every intrigue intrigue that takes place in the Empire. He is generally regarded as having few real convictions and few trust him.

Name: Noah
Position: Lord Herald
Political Relevence: Known for his open-mindedness towards other races, this high lord is widely loved by the tiny non-human minority in Finara. However, most other powerful forces in politics distrust him and he had little to no influence.

Name: Jacopo
Position: Minister of Science
Political Relevance: Jacopo controls the small access to technology the Finarans have. Their interactions with the outside world, and certainly whatever chance they have against any foreign military, rests almost entirely in his hands.
