Who wants to do an RP
I am lookin' to do an older-historic RP, involving WWI weaponry. A simple battle in the Pacific Ocean, really. No airplanes, no submarines, no true radar, no missiles, no CIWS...just a bunch of big cannons, some blimps, steel hulls, and gas-guzzlin' good time. I consider this the height of all Naval Warfare, the best and most glorious days of the sea.
Who wants in, keep in mind: You do not use your entire navy, just a simple division of forces.
Ill do it. Huzzah Dreadnoughts!

Real Naval Battles without those damn carriers and planes..... *Drooling* oh man, if there is room I would love to join

"It takes the Navy 3 years to build a new ship, it takes 300 years to build a reputation, we must not let the Army down" Royal Navy Admiral Andrew Cunningham, upon being told it was too dangerous to risk ships to evacuate Army soldiers from Crete

Yeah, you are in. So is Newtdom...Belem...this would require RPing...not numberwanking.
Does anyone know a website that has ship classes for the WWI era?
I'd join, do we just cook up a totally WWII Navy?

I'm very interested in a 1960-tech war, but this still sounds interesting...
Too bad I can't join since I know nearly nothing about WWI tech :(

Nice, should we focus on developing characters to man our fleets for the RP, or should we do very detailed action statements

I'd think both.

Omz, check out the Rise of the United Emirates (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=78734&highlight=), it going to be a more WWII 1960ish War, but likely there won't be that much fighting. If you have any ideas telegram them to me and I'll invite you in if Tersanctus agrees.

I was going to do that next, somewhat moving back in time. I will keep this thread updated and after this one is done, we can go back to the steamer-clippers and monitors, then back to the 1815 clipper Galleons.

OCC: Sounds Great!!!!
Uhhh, right...we are still doing WWI boats. And celack, RP.
MEANING TYPING SKILL REQUIREMENTS ARE ENABLED, THOU SHALT BE IGGY IF THOU SHALT BE IGNORANT.
So when will we be starting this?
Well, right about now. Just one thing though:
Why are we fighting? Who is on who's side? And where are why fighting?
WWI? Okay I call the Canadian merchant navy. They supplied the allied forces but suffered a large blow when most of their supplies were destroyed at Halifax.

Ummm...no. This is not the Battle of the Atlantic. This is just WWI-style ships and a WWI style fighting.
DI: I'll consider your offer, thanks.
Ruhr: on a non-related manner, what about your Civil war? :( :P

I am having a serious writers block man...I mean serious. I am trying to write a short-war story for a writing contest my teacher enrolled me in. THANKS MR. VALENTINE FOR TAKING VOLUNTEERS!
So, its tough for me to go back and forth between the two and follow the story. I will get to it.

*raises hand and jumps up and down*
Oh, oh, teacher, I have an idea.
The WWI-style naval war can take place in the Lesser Antilles island. Which I control (now and then). We can say they are claimed by the Imperium (moi), but someone else wants them. So we shoot at each other with wwi ships. Trinidad and Tobago though are Drakonian states, the rest our Drakonian-claimed territories.
Hows all that sound?
Awesome, that is a good RP. I call the badguy!

Just to give you an idea of the location of everything. I've consider the rest of the Imperium to be on a ficticious continent in proximity to the RL Lesser Antilles. Here is a rough diagram of the Imperium which give you an idea where everything is (the Lesser Antilles Islands are referred to as the Drako Antilles):

Historical Background (not that it's really necessary):
At this time, Oregia is an independent colony (i.e. not part of the Imperium) that was originally started by Drakonian settlers.
It has been approximately 30-40 years since the last war between the Imperium and the Sanctus Empire (modern Drakonian ally: Tersanctus).
Drakonia has a proud navy tradition.
For more information: National Factfile: Dominion of Drakonian Imperium (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74877)
That should be enough to info for anyone who really want to do their homework.

I have a beginning wrote out, I'll start a thread when your ready. Anyway, I thought of a new element: Pirates. It appears that since the Imperium has not had a presence in the northern Lesser Antilles that pirates are prevalent. People can RP different groups of pirates.
