Elections in Central Boroglia

23-10-2003, 00:35
After months of being assisted by Al Anbar to build a armed forces, setup an educational system and get the economy running, elections have finally been setup.

Candidates:

1) Habib Muqtadar - Central Bogolian Socialist Party - Wishes to nationalize all major industries and factories. He was known before Al Anbar arrived and his popularity has grown since the Iraqis arrived. Wishes to keep a strong Al Anbar presence to defend the country. Has received endorsement by Al Anbar.

2) Hadar Lakata - Boroglian Unity Party - Wants to run a centrist government (like Germany and France). Wants a universal health care plan, strengthen education system. Wants to unity all of Boroglia. Wishes a decreased, but still strong Al Anbar presence.

3) Khaled Mohammed - People's Progressive Party - Wants a total Communist system. Wants unity of all Boroglia and wants to decrease Al Anbar presence after the government has been strengthened enough to handle its own.

The Federal Government of Hrstrovokia does not recognise the legitimacy of Central Boroglia, perceiving correctly that Central Boroglia is nothing more than a puppet state of Al Anbar.

None of the candidates put forward are of Boroglian extraction. This is more evidence of the increasing encroachment by Al Anbar on all levels of Boroglian society.

To reiterate -
Al Anbar has finally exasperated Hrstrovokia into rage. After so obviously marking the point of contention as Al Anbar's controversial education programme, President Hussein has entirely missed the point.

We are not pleased. No effort is being made on their part.

This is our final ultimatium to Al Anbar. Leave Central Boroglia. You will be compensated for your stay.

We dont want War. We just want you out.

All the above candidates are certifiably Boroglian. They have all been born in Boroglia.

OOC: A one-hour election seems, well, less than democratic.

How about you elect me for president of your country. :)

[OOC: Perhaps to you, the names of the candidates posted are common, but to me, they smack of an middle eastern background. The only name that doesnt seem Asian is "Lakata" but I could be wrong on that.]

The Federation of Hrstrovokia declares that the election is nothing more than a joke. The candidates consist wholly of Asians, who are a minority in the European nation of Boroglia. Who represents the Boroglians?

When only Government approved candidates emerge in an election, you can be sure democracy is as good as dead in Central Boroglia.

Papers in Lusaka print stories on the "Boroglian blunder", a name given by the independent press here in reference to Hrstrovokia's decision to allow Al Anbar a hand in Boroglia's future.

The government has not officially recognised the Central Boroglian election results, nor even the legitimacy of the election itself.
