Katya laughed, her breasts bouncing. "Me? My story isn't at all exciting." She giggled. "I've just been a servant girl for a lot of my life, Kravisi." She smiled and grabbed his right hand, holding it to her left breast. "Your life seems so... exciting, travelling the country, even the world!" She dropped his hand, and went to face the distant capital city. "Can you imagine? I've never even been to the capital."

Sweating by now, Roma laughed. "You haven't?! Oh wow maybe the Empress could let you return with us back to the Palace? It's worth a try don't you think?"

"I'd like that..." She giggled. "Oh, but would she? I'm sure someone as important, and handsome and strong as you could get me there!"

Roma blushed to the tip of his ears. "Er I can ask the Empress if she could take you to the Imperial Palace to work there and put you to the test. I'm sure she'll agree if we put it that way." Taking her hand he politely asked for a stroll by the lakes if she liked.

Kelly sat back. "Alex, you really don't need to do this..." She said, as Alexander rushed back and forth with a tonne of drinks, food, etc. "I can take care of myself... right now, at any rate."

:D Smiling Alexander contentedly replied, "Oh Kelly it's no trouble at all! Besides don't you want little Alex Jr. to be big and strong like his father?! Ah see? So we're taking good care of you from now on!" Finished running back and forth between the kitchen and the couch where Kelly was sitting, the Prince cautiously plopped himself down next to her. "Kelly we need to talk..."

Kelly blinked. Alex jr.?! She smiled... "What about, Alex?"

Looking at Kelly with brooding eyes the Prince squinted and said, "Did you...notice anything strange while we were at the Empress' Palace in the capital?" Rubbing the back of his neck he continued. "You know what i'm talking about don't you?"

You mean besides the fact you were acting even more evil than usual? Kelly thought. She suddenly blinked and shook her head. "No, not... really. Marina was very friendly, I thought. And it was nice to see Dean again."

"Nothing more Kelly?" He eyed her carefully..."I'm sure that Marina was being nice to you and was tolerant with me, but did you notice her astonishment when she saw Dean?" Laughing he roared, "And he taught me that one! hee hee hee!" Seeing the harsh look on his fiancee's face he stopped laughing and glared again. "For heaven's sake Kelly she gasped!" Alexander exclaimed.

"What are you saying, Alex?" Kelly felt the weakness return, but she thrust it aside, trying to stay upright. "Anyone would gasp when someone walks in with a bruise on their face."

Frowning and stroking his chin with his right hand Prince Alexander looked at Kelly straight in the eyes. "Look it's....it's just strange! An "almighty Empress" doesn't or at least shouldn't do that! Besides...why did she ask him to go with her to the study? What were they doing? They did take their time y'know!"

Kelly stood up. "What is wrong with you? Marina has been nice to us both." She put her hand to her head, feeling faint, but she continued to talk. "I don't understand you!" She swayed a bit...

:shock: "Oh God! What do I do? What do I do?! Umm....Kelly wait here. I'll go and get Ms. Roma's mama...the old maid...wait ok?" Frantically running around in circles, he added, "I'm sorry love, I won't mention it to you for now...i'll be right back!" He ran into Marina at the moment when he turned the corner that led to the kitchen where he supposed Mihalovna might be. "Something is happening to Kelly! Quickly go to her! I'm getting the old lady..."

Marina watched as the Prince ran into the bathroom. Going to see Kelly immediately she asked, "Are you feeling alright Princess?" She smiled..."I just saw Alexander run frantically all over the upper floor. Wait till he sees you during labor! Hahahaha"

Kelly smiled back, "hee hee! Was he? Oh he is taking it quite well thank God, but perhaps is a bit to anxious and ignorant about this still. I've got to admit that it's nice having him be so nice to me like old times."

Alexander ran back in, dragging Mihalovna behind him. "She started to sway, and she was acting weird, and..."

The old woman stared at him. "She seems all right to me... right, Kelly?"

Smiling, Kelly turned to look at Mihalovna. "Yes of course! I just felt a little weak and tired that's all. I imagine that that is normal now?"

"Yes child, it's perfectly normal." Turning to look at the Prince she said, "And that's just the beginning eh. Would you like some water?"

Thinking that the maid was speaking to him Alexander responded in the affirmative. All three of the women burst in laughter. "Hahaha I was referring to your Lady Sire. Not to worry i'll bring in refreshments for everyone!" Turning towards the exit, Mihalovna left the three young people alone.

Alex collapsed against a wall. "Bring a knife!" He began to look speculatively at his wrist.

Katya ran in and whispered into Marina's ear. "Someone called Gray on the line, Your Imperial Majesty..."

Careful enough not to make any apparent changes...Marina did her best to keep calm when she heard Dean was waiting on the phone. "Katya," she whispered, "tell him I'll answer in a minute. I'll pick it up in the bedroom. Hurry go!" Turning towards Kelly and Dean Marina lowered her head slightly and blushed a little. "I have someone on the line. Please excuse me I will return momentarily."

Alex opened his mouth to say something, but Kelly started to sway again, and his attention promptly became stuck.

Taking her leave Marina walked up the stairs and into her chamber. Picking up the phone with delight, the Empress smiled and sweetly greeted her lover. "Oh Dean I'm so glad you've called! I've missed you very much love! But...I have great news for you! Kelly is pregnant! She's giving Alexander an heir! Isn't that wonderful? Somehow things just fell into place and the Prince has completely undergone a drastic change...what do you think?"

"I think he's up to something." Dean said, worried. "Watch your back, Marina. Now, if you even pretend to make a threat against Kelly, he'll kill you." He sighs. "Still, nice to hear from you, my love."

Looking at a clock, he smiled. "How long has she been pregnant?"

Her smile now fading she frowned. "Now Dean I know the guy is nuts but do you really think he's got some sort of plan? Besides...I wouldn't threaten Kelly in any way! We've become very good friends actually...oh and she's apparently been pregnant for about three months now. It's more than nice to hear from you again darling." She smiled longingly with twinkling eyes. "I really wish you could be here with me! Why, with seeing Alexander and Kelly together like they are, and Roma with his new girlfriend, I feel all alone. And you know how cold it gets here at night! Lets hope that this is over soon so I can go back to the Palace...to be with you love."

Dean sits down, heavily. "Three months? Dear god... Alex must be furious with himself..." He grinned. "Would you like me to go up there, and congratulate him?" He turned serious. "Three months? The wedding is one month from now... Alex must be really, really shocked!"

"Would m'lord like some tea?" Garrick asked.

"Two sugars, thanks. Anyway, how is Kelly coping?"

"Actually I don't think Alex is that furious...he seems to be pretty happy about the whole thing. You've got to admit that he really messed up though. Anyway i'm a bit worried about Kelly...I know it's normal for pregnant women to get like she is but I get the feeling that the pregnancy itself is going to be very difficult for her." She added worrily. "They say that the first one is always harder but still I think it might be something more. Perhaps you can come? Maybe you could give Alexander some moral support or something similar...and give me something else no? Some attention hopefully and sweet sweet kisses and hugs to make the cold go away?" She sighed, yearning for her love to come to her.

Dean smiled. "Of course, m'love. I'd be glad to see you again. I've missed you... as for moral support, I'll do what I can." He hung up. "Garrick, pack our bags for a trip."

"Alex...Marina told me about how you freaked out up there...and I can just imagine. But honey...don't be worried or frightened! The baby and I are just fine." She smiled. "I need you to keep a good head on your shoulders and remain strong for me...for us." Holding his hand and placing it on her stomach she laughed. "I never expected this to happen so soon! Alex you did your work a little too quickly!"

Alex looked up from hitting his head against the wall. "Can I have my hand back?" She released it. He returned to banging his head. "I can't believe it... I can't believe it..." He looked up. "What if you have twins? What if something goes wrong? What if I get cursed for sex before marriage? WHAT?" He screamed.

Taking a deep breath Kelly got up and went to him. Putting her hand on his shoulder she made him turn around. "Alexander, turn around and look at me. Promise that you won't regret what happened. No...this was bound to occur. Or are you saying that you aren't happy for having made this baby? He's your son! And i'm sure things will be ok...nothing bad is going to happen Alex! It's just your imagination." She kissed him softly and embraced him. "Think about how this is more of a blessing than what you perceive it to be ok?"

Alex sighed. "I... can't help it. I'm not ready..." He laughed. "I knew this was going to happen... and I am happy, but... I'm scared. Scared that I won't be a good father..."

Kelly put her finger to his lips. "No love no...don't say it. You will be a great father you'll see. Together we'll make it through. By the way Alex...when are you going to officially declare this to Roania or will you wait until we get married?"

Alex blinked. Announce it to the Roanians?... *Announce It To The Roanians?* GAH! He whimpered.

"Gosh Alex! Well don't you think it'll be a bit strange for them if the baby is born before the traditional nine months after conception? They'll know what happened...why not be honest about it? But it's your decision I suppose." Sighing, Kelly sat back down.

One of Alex's muscles began to twitch underneath his eye. "Yes... they would... perhaps an abortion!" He looked shocked at the word. "No, stupid suggestion. Considering my family's luck with children, this might be my only chance for an heir..." He laughed. "I'll get the council's opinion... maybe I could have you wear really loose clothing... big, billowy clothes..." He started to sweat. "Or maybe I could run away and become a monk. That might work, too. Or..."

The sight of the ambassadorial car driving up the road distracted him. "What's Dean doing here?"

Sergei, one of the servants at the lodge knocked on Marina Vladiovna's door. "Yes come in."
-He bowed low, "M'lady there is a gentlemen who has just arrived. It is the Roanian Ambassador Dean Gray--"
-But the Empress cut him off. "Dean Gray you say?! Thank you Sergei, I will personally meet him in the front entrance." Smiling she descended down the stairs and opened the doors. Standing outside was the Earl. Thinking that no one was watching, she threw her arms around the man and remained so for a few minutes. "I'm so glad you're here! I've missed you so much my love!"

Dean gently removed her arm. "Yes, nice to see you too. However, I have an angry prince to speak to, before he does serious damage to himself."

Looking but trying not to look too disappointed, Marina lowered her arms and got as far apart from him as possible. "You're right Dean, he's in the living room go in and talk to him in there. This way..." and she led him into her Winter Lodge.

Dean smiled. "Nice place." He paused just before the door. He turned and passionately kissed Marina, after ensuring no-one was watching. "Now, let's go see the Prince."

Meanwhile, Garrick carried in piles of luggage.

Marina and Dean entered the room where the Prince and his fiancee were in. "Your Highness, Mr. Gray has arrived and wishes to speak with you." Motioning to Dean to sit in the sofa next to her, "Here Mr. Gray have a seat. Would you like to drink anything? You your Highness? Kelly?"

Alexander watched Dean and Marina the whole time. "Yes, Marina. I would like... the strongest drink you have."

Kelly opened her mouth to say something. Alex cut in. "She'll have water, thanks."

Grinning Marina turned to Alexander, "Yes of course! Water for the Princess, vodka for you and nothing for De...Gray." :oops: "Katya, could you bring them their drinks please? Thank you." She put her hands together and waited to see what they would talk about...

Dean smiled. "So... Your Highness, I understand that you have an heir?"

Alexander nodded. "Yes, my lord Earl." He groaned. "Apparently, I was... a bit eager, and..."

:D Smiling widely Kelly interrupted Alexander. "Yes it's been three months as I've been told. At this point I suppose that we're not quite sure whether to announce it or keep it to ourselves for just a bit longer. Alexander has decided that he will seek the advice of his council...a wise choice I bet." she added somewhat sarcastically. Knowing Kelly's opinion of the Prince's council, the Empress couldn't help but smile.
-"Yes princess, it's a delicate matter and should therefore be treated cautiously, right Ambassador?"

Alex flushed, his skin turning a mottled red, then paling as he restrained his temper. Dean thought. "Hmm... well, I'm sure that the Council would be able to come up with something, but it would be fairly obvious..."

Alexander groaned. "So, I need to come clean, and tell my people that my fiance is pregnant, before the wedding?"

"Yes!" The three said in unison. "Look Alex...as embarassing as it is. Especially for me if I may add," said Kelly. "it's better to say it before the wedding than after it. It's the right of the principality to know. But i'm sure they will rejoice when they know that Roania has a true heir to the throne." Smiling she reassured him.
-Nodding Marina added, "Indeed princess, the truth is better for everyone. Besides, it would be known anyhow..."

Alex sighed. "All right... if you feel that way, Kelly... and only because I love you..." He sighed. "I'll put out a bulletin when we get back." He kissed her, and collapsed into the chair.

"A wise decision, your Highness." Dean murmured.

"Great! Now that that's settled and done with..." Marina said anxiously, "what is it that you two have planned for the rest of the day? Are you going anywhere?" inquired the Empress.

"Well... how about the menagerie?" Kelly asked. "I want to see some animals that can't bite through steel bars."

"What? There aren't any Roanian animals that can bite through steel bars!..." Alex said. "Iron, maybe... oh, and titanium... and steel..."

"I was talking about your council."

Dean chuckled.

Marina laughed at the comment made by Kelly. Would you like one of the servants to lead you there? Yes? --Sergei, would you please be so kind as to escort the Prince and Ms. Maxwell to the menagerie? Thank you very much Seryozha." The Empress turned to the couple and smiled with twinkling eyes. "Be sure to enjoy yourselves and have fun! Oh and Alexander, do take good care of Kelly. Da svidanya!" :D

After Kelly and Alex were gone, Dean let out a loud laugh. "Did you see the expression on Alexander's face?" He sighed. "And... looks like it's just us."

Marina grinned. Snuggling up to him she said, "So we are..."

Dean kissed her. "I've missed you..."

Returning his ardent kiss the Empress thought of it better. "Dean someone could see us, maybe now is not the time to be affectionate. Is there something you would like to do now? Go somewhere perhaps? See the scenery of Pokrovskaye or go ice-skating? It's up to you love."

"Well... I can think of several things I'd rather be doing...," Dean said. "But ice skating sounds nice."

She smiled. "Perhaps some other time." Holding his hand and leading him to another room of the house she asked a servant to please get them skates. After having Dean try a few pairs so that the correct size was chosen, the two lovers left the house and began to walk towards the largest of the frozen lakes. Stopping to admire the frozen white scenery, Marina grabbed Dean's arm. "Isn't it beautiful? In the winter, my whole family would come here for vacation." She smiled a sad sort of smile. "My mama and papa would sit at that bench over there..." Marina pointed to a tiny little bench on the other side of the lake. "Meanwhile, Elena, Tatiana and I would play with the snow and throw snowballs at each other. We'd build castles, fortresses and then go racing on the ice. How I wish it could be the same! I'd give anything to have them back." Trying hard not to let her voice break or cry, the young Empress kneeled down and re-tied her skates.

"Is... something wrong, Marina?" Dean asked, staring into her eyes.

The Empress of Flamazon turned her back on him and in a firm voice replied, "Wrong? No of course not! Everything is perfectly fine. Too many memories here that's all. Wiping the stray tear that was rolling down her cheek, she turned around and smiled at him. "Now, let's go. How good are you at this?"

"Um..., sure I come from a desert country... I know everything there is to know about iceskating!"

Raising an eyebrow then smiling and stealing a kiss from Dean, she took his hand and led him to the edge of the frozen lake. Taking a step, Marina skated around once showing him how it was done. Returning she laughed and asked him, "Do you think you can do that?" :D "The key is to first only pretend that you're walking on ice then take bigger steps, start gliding and from there, you'll get the hang of it!"

Dean stepped onto the ice and fell flat on his face. "I hate winter..." He tried to get up, but his hands slid in every direction.

Alexander sat back. "So, when do we see the bear *move*?"

:lol: Kelly began to laugh hysterically. "They'll move when they want to move Alex, they won't put on a dancing bear show just because we're here! Well why don't we try feeding the bear? Maybe that'll make him move." she suggested. "If not, then why don't we just go back to the lodge or go see some of the sorroundings. Whatever you want to do is fine with me."

Marina went over to Dean and sat on the ice next to him. Trying hard not to laugh she brushed off all the icy particles on his face. "Are you ok hon? Maybe we should take a little break before we start? Then I can help you if you're still willing to try it." :)

"Yes..." He looked around for something to feed to the bear, while putting his arm around Kelly tightly. "What do bears like to eat?" He asked, kissing her cheek.

"No... I'm fine... just fine..." Dean muttered, sputtering snow out of his mouth. "Help me up..."

Giggling at his touch and quick kiss Kelly saw a tree in the distance that seemed like it had some sort of fruit. "Look! Let's go see what type of fruit it has, maybe we could give him that?"

Marina smiled. "Oook if that's what you want!" Rapidly and effortlessly standing up, the young woman offered him her hand. Taking him by the arm, she gave him instructions while holding on and guiding him. "Ok now, put your legs like mine...good. Now take baby steps, no...little ones like so ok? Alright, we're going to go a little faster now...follow my example. Slide your feet on the ice..."

Alex carefully lifted her up, and carried her to the tree. "You're not that heavy... yet..." He put her down, and looked at it. "Do bears eat apples?"

Dean slid... and did quite a good job of sliding off of the ice and into a tree.

Kelly shrugged, "I guess so but who knows? Let's take it to him just in case no?" Picking out the ripest apple she gave it to Alexander to hold and then looked for a couple more.

Dean hit the tree with a loud smack and fell to the ground. Quickly Marina skated to him and looked to see if he was alright. A little blood began to seep out of his head and he opened his eyes looking a bit dazed. "Oh Dean! You got a cut, can you get up and walk with me back to the lodge? We should get you cleaned up."

Alex and Kelly walked back, holding the apples. They tossed them to the bear. "Okay, Mr. Bear. Move!" Alexander commanded.

The bear moved, took one of the apples, ate it, and curled up and went back to sleep. "That didn't work well." He sighed, and pulled Kelly back to him, sitting her on his lap. "Still, I can't complain."

"Whatever you say, Martian Lady!" Dean blinked, and stood up.

Kelly smiled and put her hand over Alexander's hand and gently squeezed it. "I love you Alex, even more so now that we're having a baby. You'll make a great father you'll see!"

Putting her hand to her head in despair, Marina whimpered. "Oh God no! Don't do this to me I beg you! ...Dean, don't you remember who I am?"

Alex smiled, and leaned back... slamming his head into the ground just moments after he realised that he was sitting on a backless bench. "Ouch..." He blinked. "Is this heaven?"

Dean blinked. "Yes! Aren't you Tzarina Katerina VII, ruler of all Russia?"

Laughing, Kelly got down and tried to help him up. "No it's not heaven-"

:roll: "Well she actually was a part of my family but...no! Of course not! Dean, i'm Marina don't you remember?! Hmm...obviously not. Let's go Dean, back to the lodge...Mihalovna will hopefully know what to do with you. Come let me take off your skates and get your shoes..." She did that and then proceeded to take off her own. Taking him by the hand, the young woman guided him back.

Alex smirked, and leaned forward to kiss her. "No? Then what are you doing down here?" He pulled himself back up.

Dean sat patiently, waiting to be told why he, Mr. Bigglesworth, was in the august presence of Tzarina Katerina, and her maidservant, Queen Elisabeth II.

Pulling him up, she kissed him softly and embraced him. "What time is it Alex? If it's late maybe we should be heading back don't you think?"

"He hit a tree..."
-"A tree?! Oh my! How did he manage to do that?"
-"We were ice skating, he lost control and slid into it. That's why he has the cut. Is the amnesia temporary? Should we get a doctor or what do we do? He's convinced that i'm Katerina!"
-"It is not necessary to call a doctor m'lady. I can handle it. It may take a couple of days but with that special tea of mine he'll be back to his old self in no time at all! You trust me Marina...that's all"
-Marina made a face, "What type of tea? Never mind I don't want to know...it's that foul tasting black tea isn't it? Ugh! I remember that one! but if it's going to do the job then so be it." After spending some time in the kitchen, Mihalovna came back with a cup of tea. Meanwhile, Marina made Dean lay down on his bed and stayed with him. Caressing him and giving him tiny kisses occasionally, Marina tried to tell him things about himself and about her hoping that it would help Dean remember. The tea finally arrived, "Dean...here, drink this..."

"Oh, I don't know, Kelly." He held her close to him. "If you are cold... I'll warm you up." He kissed her cheek, and squeezed her. "I love you, Kelly. I've said it before, but I want to say it again. I love you, and I always will, even if we do fight."

:) "Well in that case i'm glad you said it. When you were angry at me and did the things you did, I was convinced that you no longer cared for me. It hurt...but now things have turned around again and i'm happy to hear you say that and feel that you really do love me...just as much as I do you." Kissing him she added, "Oh and yes i'm a bit cold..."

Watching him gulp it down, Marina stared in wonder at the fact that he made no comments on the bad...no, horrible taste of the black tea. "All done? Yes? Here Mihalovna, please take it back to the kitchen and will you leave us for a moment?"
-"Yes of course m'lady."
Sitting on the bed next to him, she smiled down to Dean. "So...I guess we won't be skating for a while will we?"

Alexander smiled. "Well... why don't we go back to the room, and I'll warm you up?" He kissed her, and picked her up.

Dean spat the tea out. "Marina! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?"

"Agreed. Let's head back and see if Marina is there, I think she mentioned going someplace before we left."

Marina who was starting to drift off, snapped out of it immediately. "Dean is that you?! You called me Marina!"

Alex sighed. "Do we have too? I'm getting a bit cold." He carried her towards the manor.

"Of course I did! What was that disgusting drink?" He said, angrily. "Ich..."

"Oh don't you worry about that Alex, we'll warm up soon enough!" She laughed merrily as she said this.

Throwing her arms around him (even though he's still lying down...) and kissing him where he had hurt himself and now had a big bump, she exclaimed, "Oh Dean! Thank God you're alright! Don't you recall what happened while we were skating? You hit a tree and got a good-sized cut on your head. Oh darling, I love you so much. I was scared for you!"

Alex kissed her. "You know... I'm sure Marina wouldn't mind if we went directly to our nice, soft bed tonight..." So saying, he entered the manor, carried Kelly directly to their bedroom... and then collapsed because of a sudden spasm. "Ouch... to much carrying... I need a massage."

Dean looked confused. "If I say I do remember, will I get a bit more than a kiss?" He said, sitting up.

Kelly made him sit on the bed and jumped on herself directly behind him. "No problem love..." Gently placing her hands on his shoulders she began to give him a deep massage...

Marina slightly blushed. "You know I like to hear nothing but the truth. It doesn't matter though, you still get your price sweetheart." Wrapping her arms around his neck she kissed him passionately.

Alexander sighed and relaxed. After a while, he turned and started to slide her shirt off. "Still cold?"

Dean kissed her back, and held her close to him. "You know, if you want something... we should be in a private place."

Smiling she helped him take it off. "A little....not for long though..."

:lol: Reaching to feel his head Marina laughed, "Are you sure you're feeling alright? I think the blow to your head was quite severe honey! Haven't you noticed that we're already in your room on a bed?!"

Alexander moves closer to her, and starts to remove her clothes...

Dean smooths back her hair, and starts to unbutton her shirt.

As Dean continued, Marina suddenly pushed him away and turned from him. In utter frustration she lay down flat on the bed. "No Dean..."

"Is something wrong, Marina?" Dean asked, worried.

Upset and on the verge of tears now, the young woman paused for a moment then answered him. "We can't keep on doing this Dean, it's wrong for me to do so. I am the Empress of this entire nation remember? What will happen if people find out about what i'm doing with you? My duty is to them. I am supposed to be moral and honorable and decent...we both know well that this isn't that. My father always told me that my people came first above all...and made me promise to do my job as well as I possibly could...and i'll try my hardest. I'm very sorry love, but if we do this again, it'll be as husband and wife, not as lovers. Have you stopped to think of what the consequences of this could be?" She looked at him straight in the eyes while holding his hand in hers. "Just take a look at what is happening with Alexander and Kelly right now. Do you want to have the entire Flamazonian Empire constantly criticizing us and our baby if we had one? That's not what I want and that's not what you want i'm sure."

Dean sighed, and sat down beside her. He lifted her face up so they looked into eachother's eyes. "My love... do you want me to ask you to marry you?" He stroked back her hair.

:shock: With a very shocked expression Marina took her hand away from his. "What?! I never told you that! I didn't ask for you to propose! I merely stated a fact, that it isn't decent and that we must no longer do this."

Dean sighed. "Marina. I love you. With all my heart and soul. But I don't think that my dear Prince Grumpy is going to allow us to marry." He sighed, and started to get up.

She frowned and sighed. "Allow? Allow?! Why must you always do whatever Prince Alexander "allows" you to do? Are you afraid of him? Why Dean? I know he's capable of doing many things but he has been in a great mood lately and why and how does it affect him? Can you not marry whoever you want?"

Dean sighed. "He's dangerous. And he doesn't like the idea of his nobles marrying people who don't live in Roania. He wants to keep as many titles and lands as he can where he can control them." He kissed her. "He also doesn't like the idea of one of his nobles being all most his equal."

:D Grinning she kissed him softly, "You would be like his equal wouldn't you? You of course would hold the title of Emperor of Flamazon and well that I imagine isn't to his liking is it? The only difference I suppose would be the Royal blood issue wouldn't it? But it doesn't matter." Taking his hand and smiling at him she continued to speak, "Dean, once we get married we don't have to be afraid anymore! And you love me right?" *kiss* "Let's get him drunk and then tell him eh? How's that for an idea? Tomorrow morning, then whatever happens happens no?" Making him lie in bed and snuggling under his arm the woman embraced him tightly. "Even if we can't do what we used to doesn't mean I can't wake up in your arms does it love? Just hold me tight and lets not think about the future, let's sleep for now and tomorrow we'll see how it goes ok?"

Dean smiled, and ran his fingers along her side. "No... I guess it doesn't." He kissed her and squeezed her to him. "My love... will you marry me?"

Marina got closer to her love and gave him a long sincere kiss as an answer. Getting close to his ear she added, "I thought you'd never ask...again." and with that, she fell asleep in Dean's arms. In her slumber that night, she whispered "I love you..." many times...

Alexander woke up early, and carefully moved so as to not wake up Kelly. After he dressed, he walked to the kitchen. "I'm a tad hungry... what would breakfast be?"

Mihalovna looked at the Prince and laughed. "I assume you're not used to our customs are you your Highness? We do not eat unless our Empress is at the head of the table. But if you would like to know what is being served for breakfast i'll gladly tell you. This morning we're starting off with a bowl of fruit, followed by pancakes with candied nuts and maple syrup, an omelette if your Highness wishes that. Also, either a glass of any juice of your choice and a glass of hot cocoa or milk. If your Highness is not satisfied with that, then he may request what he so wishes provided that we can make it."

"I see. I'll wait, then." Alexander walked off, staring out a window. Such a horrid, dull country... full of people as weak as I once was. As weak as my father, may he be remembered. Well, I won't make the same mistakes he did. The greater good. I must keep that in sight at all times. He sat back, and sighed.

Marina suddenly woke up. Still a bit sleepy she looked around and saw that Dean was looking at her and smiling. Leaning over to give him a good morning kiss, Marina began to get up and walk to the door. "I have to go bathe, and dress. You should do the same...I think we've overslept a bit and we shouldn't upset Alexander today." Winking, she shut the door behind her.

Dean pulled on his clothes, and then walked towards the kitchen, meeting Kelly just before the door. "Good morning your highness. Sleep well?"

"Yes, thank you." Kelly hid a blush, and walked in.

Marina got out of the hot and steamy bathtub once finished bathing and wrapped a towel around her body and with another dried off her hair. After putting lotion on she quickly got dressed, sprayed some soft perfume on her neck. Calling in a servant to make an especially nice hair-do and another to put on just a little bit of make up while she applied her own mascara. Looking herself over in the mirror, the Empress walked down the staircase and into the dining room. After being announced by Roma who was asked to join them for breakfast she stood as they bowed (It is a thing that must be done at every meal for the Emperor or Empress of Flamazon). Taking her seat at the largest, plush and thronelike chair at the head of the table she began to greet them. "Good morning Master Gray," she smiled, "I hope you slept well Alexander, Kelly." Slightly grinning she turned to Roma and asked, "Oh and where were you yesterday Vrizhyenskiy? Your mother needed you to run some errands and you were nowhere to be found? I expect you to be on call in case anything is needed, remember that duty and work comes first in this country. Mihalovna will you serve breakfast now? Thank you"

Roma blushed as Katya walked behind Marina, smirking slightly. "Yes, your majesty."

Alex and Kelly turned a crimson color, but quickly paled. Dean snorted.

"Yes, your majesty. We both were so tired, we went immediately to bed." Alexander inclined his head. "What of you? Did you get any sleep?"

Remembering Dean's proposal for marriage, Marina smiled warmly and sweetly at all of them. "Yes your Highness, I did sleep well...but perhaps a little too much! I apologize for having you all wait for me to come to the table! I guess that with Dean's accident yesterday, I got a bit tired and needed the extra rest."

"No, quite understood, Marina." Alex said, happily.


OOC: Maricruz, it's back up.

Looking over at Kelly, Marina asked, "Kelly, there's something I wanted to show you in the kitchen...will you come? Sliding out of her chair, Kelly accompanied her. "Kelly I need your help," said the young woman smiling VERY happily. "This evening, you have to encourage Alexander to drink and drink until he gets so drunk that he'll agree to anything!"

Kelly looked confused. "Why? And I don't think I've ever seen him get drunk before." Her expression soured. "I won't help you hurt him."

Marina took Kelly's hands and jumped around excitedly. "Oh can't you even begin to guess why i'm this happy?! Come on, it's not like you two didn't suspect!"

Kelly looked confused. "Are you feeling all right, Marina?" She tried to put her hand on Marina's forehead. "What did Dean do? I'm going to give him a piece of my mind."

Marina laughed merrily, "Don't worry Kelly! There's nothing wrong with me! Last night, Dean asked me to marry him, can you imagine?! The second time he's proposed though..." blushing, she continued. "That is why we need to get Alexander to get drunk! If he's sober, he'll create a big scene and deny Dean that. Now...will you help us?"

Kelly stared, openmouthed. "Dean asked you to marry him? Marina, that's wonderful! You're right. Alex would hate that with a passion. I don't know if there's enough alcohol in the world to get him to agree to that."

:D "It is wonderful isn't it?!" Marina stopped and sighed deeply. "Well Kelly, we'll just have to try won't we?! I don't care what it takes, we're going to get married, it would be better if Alexander did approve, since Dean IS his nation's ambassador no? Tonight...we'll give it our best shot! No pun intended of course!"

Kelly smiled. "I'll try. Congratulations, Marina." She looked outside. "We'll have to start early."

"You know him better than I do Kelly, so you let me know when it's the right time to start eh?" Looking her in the eyes, Marina smiled. "Thanks Kelly, this means a lot to me. I was sure I could count on you! Now, let's take this cake out to the table...i'm sure this will make Alexander feel happier!"

Kelly grins. "Yeah... there wouldn't be rum in this cake, would there?"

Marina began to carry it towards the door, and winked as she opened the door. Entering the dining room, she set the cake on the table. "Prince Alexander, would you like some? I made sure that Mihalovna made a special cake for you, my esteemed guests. Kelly, Dean, Roma?"

Alex smiled. "My, Mihalovna, that looks delicious." He picked up a fork.

Kelly smiled. "Well, I'm sure that my future husband deserves the largest slice of cake." She cut an immense slice away, and put it in front of him. "Eat up, dear."

:D Grinning...Marina encouraged Alex. "Oh yes Kelly! The largest piece should be for Alexander! I'm sure he'll absolutely love it." Seeing a confused look on Dean's face she winked.

Dean nodded.

Alex started to dig in.

Dean leaned back. "Hic... what's in this, <hic>, cake?"

Alexander was still shoveling them away. He took Dean's slice. "I'll have this, then."

-----------the entire cake, a shot of vodka and a goblet of wine later--------

Kelly sat down and whispered to Marina, "How much longer will this take?" As Alexander evinced no sign of drunkeness whatsoever.

:( Marina whispered to Kelly, "That's exactly what I was going to ask you! I have no clue...this man has a lot of resistance to alcohol!" Going over to Roma and sending him for every type of hard alcohol that there was, she spoke to Alexander. "Your Highness...would you like to try and sample some of our premium grade drinks? Ah look! Vrizhyenskiy brought them already! Try the whiskey, it's actually imported from Scotland y'know..."

"I'd be honored!" Alex started to pour a goblet of each wine. He quaffed each of them down, finishing two bottles in 20 minutes. His voice was slightly slurred. "Um... I think that's enough."

Kelly sighed. It took this long to get him slightly tipsy. I'm hoping that that wine wasn't expensive.

Marina slightly nudged at Kelly and asked in a low whisper, "Sounds like he's starting to feel the alcohol's effect...but perhaps that is not enough. What do you suggest Kelly? Should we try some more liquor?"

"I don't think it will work. He looks as if he's had enough." Kelly sighed. "Maybe you should tell him the truth."

Marina gently tapped her foot against Dean's so as to capture his attention. Once she made sure their eyes met, she gave him a meaningful look, smiled and nodded. "Now everyone, I ask that you please join me in the Great Room, I believe that it is time that we had a talk Prince Alexander." As the party walked down to the living room and all comfortably took a seat. Kelly and Alexander together, Roma in a chair near his mother, and Marina and Dean on the twin armchairs placed near each other within reach. "Prince Alexander..." Marina raised her head high. "there is something that Earl Dean Gray and I wanted to inform you of and ask for your approval, as he is yours to command. Dean has asked me to marry him, to be his wife...and I have accepted. It is our sincere wish, that you permit him to do so, to grant us this possibility of marriage. In doing this, I can also assure you that Flamazonian-Roanian diplomatic relations have a great chance of becoming more solid, stable and strong. Perhaps even permanent. Think your Highness, of the great things that could result from this marriage...will you support us?" Marina sat firmly and imperiously on her chair waiting for an answer but out of her own heartfelt sentiments, she unexpectedly blurted out, "Prince Alexander, Dean and I truly care...no...love each other and wish to spend the rest of our lives together. Don't deny us this which we feel"

What little control the alcohol held over him evaporated. Alexander sat there, expressions working their way across his face. He opened his mouth, and closed it several times. Finally, he shrugged. "Agreed."

Dean started to speak. "Your Highness, please just grant me this one w... what did you say?"

"I said I agreed." Alexander looked around at all the shocked faces. "What?"

Kelly stared at him, and then reached over and tried to take his temperature.

Marina extatic, jumped out of her seat and went to give the Prince a hug, "Thank you Alexander! I was hoping we could count on you!" Dean Gray who had already risen out of his chair walked up to Marina. Forgeting that Kelly and Alexander were there, the young woman ran to him and embraced him with all her might, showering him with tiny kisses, relieved at what had just happened.

Kelly rushed over and hugged him. "Alex!" She kissed him repeatedly. "I love you, I love you!" Through it all, Alex just sat there, a knowing expression on his face.

"I take it, Marina... that the two of you have been... close?" He asked, delicately.

Marina and Dean both blushed to the tip of their ears. Dean terrified, began to speak, then stuttered a bit. Marina seeing this and knowing how Alexander made him nervous, she decided to come out with the truth. Holding Dean's hand she faced Alexander and Kelly. "I shall be perfectly sincere with you Alexander. Yes. Yes we have on several occasions...however, once I figured out that I could become pregnant, I ordered it to be stopped. After that, it wasn't done again. I saw that it was highly immoral, not to mention risky. It would not have been an honorable way for an Empress of a nation as great as Flamazon to be acting, and so, I have repented. Oh and I can assure you Prince Alexander, that I am not, nor have ever been pregnant with his child."

Kelly looked shocked. Alexander started to smile. "Well, Dean... I am shocked and appalled at that. Shocked." He started to laugh. "Well... means you can't take the moral ground anymore!"

"Possibly but at least we realized this at the correct time in order to prevent embarassment. Wouldn't you agree Alexander?" Blurted out Marina, half-relieved, half angry at what the prince had said so rudely.

Alexander stared at her, openmouthed. A muscle started to twitch under the corner of his eye. Kelly noticed. "Um... Marina, you said there were nice places to go for a picnic?"

Seeing Alexander's reaction to her comment, Marina began to laugh out loud. Walking over to him and patting him on the shoulder the young Empress stuck out her hand in front of the Prince. "Prince Alexander of Roania," She continued to laugh, "I offer you my hand in earnest for friendship and in doing so, final peace between us. Do you accept your Highness? Let there be no more hard feelings or quarrels among us both." This however she said in a serious and honest tone of voice. Her honey green eyes held the Princes' and her little pale hand still hung in the air, waiting for his.

Alexander's cool blue eyes met hers. "Agreed... on one condition."

Empress Marina slightly arched her left eyebrow and brushed a stray strand of dark hair, "Oh? And what is that condition you speak of m'lord?"

Alexander looked at Kelly, his expression softening. "That you tell me exactly what the hell was going on over the last few days..." he started, "and that you tell me how to be a good father. From this point on, my family is all that matters."

The young woman sighed and smiled. "Nothing much really...Roma and I just wanted to get you two here so you could reconcile, which I knew would put you in a better mood. As for the trying to get you to drink to the point of having you agree with everything...well just my attempt at getting you to say yes to Dean and my marriage." Slightly frowning she went to sit down again. "Being a good father...means that you place your family first when possible. That doesn't mean that you can neglect your duties though. My father always taught me responsibility and that protecting and caring for our empire was of great importance...you must learn to balance both worlds. Be kind and loving with your child, teach him all that you have to know. Don't spoil the child and make all decisions about him or her with Kelly. There must be unity and love between you for the entire "family" picture to work, and your child must see that to feel safe and taken care of. It's very difficult to describe Alexander, I suppose that you must learn as you go."

Alexander nodded, and finally took Marina's outstretched hand. "Very well. It was nice to meet you."

Marina smiled. "Yes your Highness, it was a pleasure meeting you too." Laughing she drank some Vodka. "I'm guessing you won't want any more alcohol today?" Downing it, she embraced Dean.

Alexander laughed, and kissed Kelly. "Yes... been a most satisfactory day. More wine!"

Kelly grinned, and poured him a goblet. "Would it be safe to have just one glass?"

"No." Alexander said, harshly.

Later, Dean drew Marina aside. "Well, my fiance, it's been done..." He kissed her.

Marina looked up at Dean and smiled. "Yes, finally," snuggling up close the Empress continued, "I can hardly believe the change that has ocurred in Alexander! It's like he's a completely different man, don't you think?" Suddenly, the young woman jolted and jumped slightly making a funny little surprised noise. "Dean! Don't you realize what we have to do now?!"

Dean sat, thoughtfully. A different person... yes... he is... but what worries me is that it might be an act... "Um... what do we have to do?"

:lol: wacking Dean on the head, Marina exclaimed, "We have to plan the wedding of course! We have to invite everyone and do you want a traditional wedding with me in a white dress or what? The media must be informed of course. The catering also has to be taken care of..." Slightly squeezing his hand the Empress thought for a moment. "When are we getting married by the way?"

Dean absorbed the flow of questions, and answered, "Yes, dear. Of course dear. Good idea, dear. Whenever you want, dear."

His mind was still whirring over Alexander.

Sensing that Dean was tense, Marina stopped thinking about the wedding and instead pondered over why he was acting so strangely. "Dean, what is it? And don't tell me that there's nothing wrong. I know you and I can see it in your eyes. Something is worrying you now what is it?" Wanting to comfort him, she kissed him softly and caressed his face. "C'mon honey tell me."

Dean shook his head. "Nothing, nothing." He didn't want to worry her. "So, um... who should we invite?"

The color in Marina's pale face began to turn into a bright crimson. "Do you not trust me enought to tell me what's going on?! Fine! If you don't want to tell me then don't!" Getting up from her seat, Marina stormed off in a rage, going outside and slamming the door loudly as she left. It was still snowing as she made her way to the frozen pond. *Dammit it's so cold out here!* she thought. *Oh well, it doesn't matter. I wonder what's going on with Dean? He hasn't been himself, I wonder if it has anything to do with Alexander... I should talk to Kelly about it.* Making her way through the snow and wind, the Empress arrived and sat on the tiny bench. *Maybe I shouldn't go back to him tonight...or make him worry by staying here for a while.* Shivering, she stood up and walked around aimlessly remembering about the times she had spent there as a child, then reviewing her life as a whole. *Am I making the right decision?* she asked her father as if expecting an answer...

Dean watched her, and walked up behind her. Putting his coat around her, he sat down. "Nothing is wrong, Marina. I promise you... what can I do to make you believe me?"

"Nothing. Why should I trust you when you're not honest with me?" She quickly handed him his coat and turned her back on him.

Dean put his arms around her, holding her tightly. "I... I suppose I am just worried about the Prince." He said lightly, moving closer in order to keep her warm.

"Why?" she asked coldly, trying to hide the worry that was also growing inside her. "I take it, it's because of his sudden change?"

"It's almost as if he's biding his time, waiting to show his true colours." Dean said, looking around for any blue eyes watching from a balcony. "I find it hard to believe he'd go from being so cruel to so nice."

Pensive look on her face, Marina frowned. "Bidding his time...hmm. What- do you think he's up to something? Against us? Or is it about something going on in Roania?" Discretely inching closer to him the woman added, "I suppose it is a bit odd that he has transformed into what he is, or appears to be now. On the other hand, he's been hit with hard news...don't forget about the baby they're expecting."

"It doesn't mean he's a nice person. The most evil person in the world would protect his child." Dean shook his head. "I'm sure it's nothing. Now, let's go inside. It's cold out here."

Pausing for a moment, Marina thought about what he said. "I guess so... in any case- I'll talk to Kelly and see what's going on. Maybe i'll even strike up a conversation with him. What do you think?" Getting up, she grabbed on to Dean's arm and started walking back towards the winter palace.

"Yes, I suppose that's best." Dean said, as they walked back into their room. "Now, is anything bothering you?"

Marina smiled, "Apart from this little doubt and tense muscles, nothing."

"Tense muscles? I can fix that..." Dean pushed slightly, sending Marina tumbling onto the bed. He started kneading his fingers into her back gently, rubbing her shoulders.

"Mmm...boy does that feel good. A little more too the left. Yep that's it." Marina fell asleep in a matter of minutes.

Marina walked across the living room over to where Kelly was sitting. "Good morning! How was your day yesterday? Good I hope?"

Kelly blushed. "Yeah, Marina. Thank you. What about you? Did you have a pleasant night?"

"It was alright I suppose. I was so exhausted that as soon as I hit the pillow, I fell asleep! So...where's Alexander?"

"He said something about hunting." Kelly said, smiling.

Miles away,

"PULL!"

Dean's servant tossed a frisbee into the air. Alex aimed his shotgun, and fired.

:shock: Marina laughed merrily, "Well as long as he doesn't shoot any living thing he won't be lynched! Is he still getting used to the idea of being a father then? How's he taking it?"

"PULL! Oh..."

"It's okay, my lord! The bullet did not, in fact, enter my body!"

"Oh good."

"By a million to one chance, my arm got in the way." The arm was lying a few feet away.

"Ah, good. Pack it in ice, and we'll have it restuck on."

"Can I help you, Marina?"

Frowning, the Empress was caught completely off guard and by surprise. "Excuse me? What did you say? I don't think I heard you correctly..." said the woman.

Kelly blinked. "Sorry, I've... been under alot of stress. So, how have you been, Marina?"

Marina walked across the room to sit in her chair and in front of Kelly. "Under a lot of stress? Hmm...I think the question is more like, how have you been? Are you ill again? You know, you can trust me-" Smiling, Marina hoped that would encourage Kelly to begin spilling out the details.

Kelly smiled. "I'm... feeling a bit under the weather, yes. And I'm worried about Alexander's sanity."

"Why is that?" said the young Empress drawing nearer. "Is there something wrong with Alexander?"

Kelly shook her head. "I don't know... I just think learning I was pregnant might have been a shock to him... and he's never acted the way he did yesterday to anyone before, except me... and only then occasionally..."

:lol: "Is that all?!" Marina laughed, "Well, do you believe that he has truly changed? Or do you suspect that there's a reason for him acting this way? Be honest with me Kelly," said the woman, looking her straight in the eye.

"I... honestly? I don't know... he seems like the man he was when we first met..."

"Hmm...I guess so...anyway, I was hoping...that you would do me a favor. Would you attend my wedding and help me plan it? I would ask you to be my maid of honor but my sister insisted. So would you?"

"Why..." Kelly blushed. "Of course!"

Marina beamed at the confirmation. "Great! Then we should get started on the preparations don't you think?" Thinking, the woman decided what was to be done. "How about we go back to the capital tomorrow? It might be best."

Kelly thought for a second. "I think that might be wise, Marina." She put a hand to her stomach.

Marina gently smiled. "Are you feeling alright?"

"Yeah, just cramps." Kelly smiled, wanely. "I'm going to go join Alexander... g'night, Marina."

"Good night then." Marina smiled, "Tell Alexander about us going back to the capital soon ok?"
Walking towards her bedroom, Marina got out of her blue silk dress and changed into some riding clothes. The young woman went to the window and looked out. The colors of the sunset were striking and she knew that it would be a beautiful starry night...
