There are a couple of tiny flapped ... "air holes", I guess ... that with the shape and the otherwise airproofing suggests many things. My personal theory is that it can supercavitate - its propulsion drives are not just electromagnetic, and from the similarity of that shield to ones we've seen on footage of Menelmacari devices, it would be capable of underwater propulsion. There were tiny nodules all over it - we got the occasional reading during movement of what looked to be pretty much monomolecular strands: no idea what’s in them, sir, no way of doing chemical analysis. The electromagnetic field effect was immensely powerful ... it must have a faraday cage on the inside to allow the occupants not to die. We're talking the equivalent power to contain helium plasma, or to set up a particle accelerator. Interestingly, no weapons at all that we could tell - except the field.”

James listened to the information in the report with both interest and confusion… he had thought something like this would be completely impossible and had it come from some random man he would have assumed it was just some crazy “UFO” sighting. However, James saw it himself, a completely metallic surface and aerodynamic shape… also James had seen the men inside who were wearing powered armour. Even their wounds and blood sample said they were human and not alien.

So now James had an investigation on his hands… where did the UFO go once it submerged and where was its final destination? He had to find out as Malice and Rave’s lives depended on it.

“Decker, have our best science teams placed in the area that UFO submerged, I want every type of relevant test done in that area that those egg heads can think of… I’m not putting a budget on this on, they have the full resources of this nation to hand.”
“Yes Sir!” Decker ran off to organise the order, leaving James in his office to think over the last 24 hours.

It had been one of the worst days of his life and now he was being… affected by some vampiric ability he could not place. His clothes wear still stained with his blood and his eyes were dark with the bags under his eyes… James decided to change out of his clothes and get some rest, it would take a while for these people to find out what happened.

Meanwhile the scientists were investigating the location that they hoped was the site of the UFO’s disappearance. As far as they could tell, the only trace was a large amount of sediment floating in the area around where the UFO disappeared. The sediment indicated high water evaporation, which would suggest (given the UFO's shape) possible supercavitation underwater.

However trial is quite hard to follow as the team went further out to sea as the currents from the sea had complete dispersed the sediment… the trail was lost.

So now they searched into the crafts shape itself, looking for UFO like crafts with the same reported abilities, but with so many Gravships and generally odd high tech machines being used the search was long and required a lot of manpower, for a time Menelmacar was thought to be the most likely suspect, but this was thrown out as unlikely and unsubstantiated.

The closest entry found was during the Knootoss wars many years back, though the entries were vague and second hand, it was determined that more information would have to be requested through UNAOTO channels…

The high council has been in an uproar since we have heard the news. Ravelyn is not only a leader to our nation, but a mother and mentor to all of us. She is not one to be taking lightly, and surely wasn't an easy opponent to take on. Never has this happened in the history of her nor our existance. Every time you have sent a representative to our nation, even you James, we have kept you safe and under the highest security. Not ONCE has someone taken you in any circumstance, nor lay a finger upon you. Why weren't the same measures taken there? Never would I think a nation such as Iuthia would be so unsafe nor have such terrible security that Rave would be taken. Our scientists have already begun the search, as well as every member of her kin. If she is not returned ALIVE...then the culprit will suffer dire consequences. The weight of the world lays upon her shoulders. I shudder to think of what would happen if she dropped it.

While we can understand your angery at the kidnapping of your leader, we would like to assure you that every possible precaution was taken to protect your leader... but then again, I would like to remind you that while Rave was invited, she did not actually confirm that she was coming, in fact she just turned.

We were attacked by something we have never uncountered before, something which was so effective it was almost as though it was designed get around out technology. Now, from what I personally saw of Rave's battle I don't think there was alot I could have done to stop something which can capture Rave... after all, you should know her cababilities. We tried out best and men we injured... I personally almost died.

We are using all our resources to find Rave, however these things need co-operation, not insults.

We will contact you with any further details on our investigation, if you want to compare notes and work with us however, may we suggest you don't insult the fine men who were killed protecting your leader.

I agree... in locating her, I beleive her son would be of more assistance. They have a direct link to each other...regardless of vampiric telepathy. I have spake with him. He had sent his fledling, Fox, to follow them and relay the message to Rave, however, Fox was killed by something unknown. Qui is not going to take this likely...and in Rave's absense, he will control the nation. You know how he negotiates. I can't reach him...something is blocking me from him that even a psion can't reach.

James was getting little annoyed at the audacity of the Shentavo messages, while he did except responsibility for the kidnapping, at least in part, he didn’t like the claims that his security had been poor… after all, when James went to Rave Shentavo, he didn’t have enemies with superpowers and über-technology, considerably advanced in comparison to his own technology. Had the opposing force not used tranquilizer rounds they would have killed many of James’s men, all considered to be elite.

James prepared himself to send a message, though there wasn’t much to say.

We are transferring all our latest information on the UFO that kidnapped your leader as well as our current theories as to where this craft ended up. Currently we are investigating the Knootoss Wars after finding a document on file describing something like what we encountered. However we are going through the process of confirming our stories and learning more about the war itself… we would prefer not to jump to conclusions at this time because that is how wars are started. We would ask that when you get in contact with Qui Shentavo could you tell him to look before he makes any leaps, the Inquisitors that crashed the conference used some form of chant to counter magical abilities within the area… our theorists suggest that it is highly probable that Rave is being guarded with such chants to keep others from gaining access to.

Once our UNAOTO allies get in touch we hope we can move forwards, otherwise we will take a more direct approach.

OOC: The point was that I can't just leap from ignorance of who did it (I know who did it OOC, but not IC) to knowing that they can make them. I have studied the Knootoss Wars and we saw a craft in inteligence reports that looked to be the same type, I would of given you all the same results... however, we don't know who did it becuase the nation in question keeps quiet... either that or I missed something but I am sure that he surpise attacked with those Wisps... I keep meening to contact him about it so we can work out the best corse of action... eitherway I'll move this along tonight.

Another point, I wanted some people in UNAOTO who I know will have the information to tell me IC the information I need to know... but they are keeping quiet either becuase they don't want to get involved or they are not interested...

Anyways... I wasn't thinking of Jumping to war and the guy we know who did it didn't actually try and get into the conference legitimatly so I don't know he's a suspect... hell I don't even know where he is on the map. Whispering voices named as kidnapers from recent raid on Iuthia Prima

"Just moments ago we got the latest from James deGritz, our benevolent dictator, who has just named the nation Whispering Voices as the prime suspect for the raid again the Vampire Conference in the Bolivar Auditorium"

Today our research team has made a breakthrough today following what has been a gruelling investigation into the events several days ago. The team have searched the oceans and made many communications in hope of finding someone who may be able to help us identify the assailant. Only recently did we discover, after looking into some old footage of the Knootoss Wars, that the same craft was used in those wars by a nation called "Whispering Voices".

Currently we know very little about this nation, they seem to keep their heads down, however we can estimate that they are fanatical about their religion after kidnapping to guests of Iuthia who happened to be of the Vampire persuasion.

We see this action as an aggressive act towards Iuthia itself, even though it may not of intended to be. You have done damage to us, you have killed our people and you have kidnapped our guests. Many nations would consider this as a good premise for war. We personally feel this can be solved though negotiation...

We implore that this nation gets in contact with use now before this incident escalates any further. We have lost four fine men as a result of this raid against our nation, which is neutral in this matter. No to mention the large amounts of damage done to our infrastructure from the craft they were using.

Our message is simple, first we want these guest back, you can kidnap them some other time when they are not in my nation, but they were guests of Iuthia and as such were not legitimate targets, do it on their own turf but not in our nation. After we get these hostages back we will require compensation for the million of Credits worth of damage you have done to our capital.

In that case may I suggest that you don’t go to war over this, as it has yet to reach that stage… however, we welcome your support in this matter. Obviously we couldn’t complain if you have your own issues with this nation and if you feel that those issues warrant war then so be it, however we do not wish for a war at this time as we feel we have lost enough men at the conference. we have receved word from Whispering Voices. The do indeed have at least our offical, Minister of Undead relations, Malice Tarashibo. Its only common sense they have Ms. Shevento as well, but there was, of course, no mention of her. We have sent one of our other ministers to help persuade them to let Mr. Tarashibo go, but we fear Ms. Soulseer (the minister we sent) may also now be in great danger. We do not hold you responsible for the kidnapping, but it is only fair that we ask you to help us in the return of Mr. Tarashibo, and now possibly Malea Soulseer.

We send Ms. Soulseer to these coordinates *coordinates sent* and she was picked up by a WV aircraft. As of right now we're at a loss as to what to do. Our only contact in the region tells us that they know little of WV, except that it is suspected that they might have gone through some sort of civil war recently. Shots from the air show the nation is entirely surrounded by mountians... this is our downfall, as our strength is naval operations.

Your surmise is correct. The Ordo Sancti Mundi holds the abominations and they are being put to trial. Whispering Voices will brook no interference in the trial of the creatures.

Would I be right in thinking that this trial is not for yourselves to prove that these guests of Iuthia are monsters, rather for our guests to prove they are not “parasitic agents of evil”.

Regardless of why you did it, you did not contact the Iuthia authorities on the subject nor did you go through normal procedure, you did not trust that Iuthia, being a nation without crime, to look into your charges against our guests and go through things in a nice orderly fashion in a fair court of law.

Instead you opted for a high cost operation that would be the end of four promising soldiers careers and serious damage to a building with historical significance to our nation.

While we understand that you “tried” to keep casualties to a minimum, it doesn’t change the fact that you have effectively raided our nation, putting us in a very awkward position of figuring out what we are going to have to do about it… you can’t expect me to simply accept that your actions were justified, you raided us and you abducted guests who are diplomatically immune for the duration of the visit.

So our requirement is simple, hand over our guests or at least give them a fair trial in a neutral country… I would of suggested Iuthia but you have painted us with that “evil” paintbrush of yours. Rest assured that we cannot simply let you get away with your actions… no matter what your intention is.

You are indeed correct: the burden of evidence will lay upon the suspects to prove that they are not vampires, and therefore not unnatural abominations.

Iuthia was not contacted because of your openly accepting stance towards vampires: no risk could be taken that the vampires would be given chance to escape. As for cost, in doing God's work cost is irrelevant.

Your requirements are denied. You will make retribution as you see fit, but be warned: Whispering Voices is not a nation that will succumb to military or terrorist threats. If you choose to expend the lives of innocent men en masse by an ill-thought out war, it is your soul that will pay the price.

OOC: Lol, I know that a open war will cause the loss of many lives, that is why I'm going to attempt a raid... of course, that will depend on the success of other things, I can't raid something I don't know about.

The details of the raid are going to be a little arkward though, as I can't launch a raid on a nation thousands of miles away... so it's going to require some hard thinking.
