Gold Rush at Lake Nicht!
A large deposit of gold has reportedly been discovered at the bottom of Lake Nicht. Mining claims are being staked by prospectors from around the country. The deposites were discovered by divers from a local club.

DP:
First space shot planned!
The launch of a rocket has been planned by Daistallian AeroSpace Industries. Major commercial sponsorships have benn accepted. Negotiations are underway with the Conglomerate from Santa Barbara for an exclusive advertising campaign.

1st drunk driver to be executed under new law!
Hans Kroncht was sentenced to death under the new drunk driving laws this week. Mr. Kroncht was convicted of 1st degree murder after being found to be intoxicated when he caused the death of three passengers in a head on colission earlier this month.

Space Program under way

Prepartions are being made for Daistallia*s first space launch. The un-manned rocket bears advertisements from Crookfur ("Irn-Bru: Kicking Coke's behind for all eternity" ), Sadaam ("IRAQI TOURISM BOARD: Fly Iraq air to Iraq and get special offers on exiting trips to see some of the finest places in the land"), and Santa Barbara (the PrattCo Conglomeratelogo). A national advertising campaign for Pilon*s PiFizz soda is also underway. *Drink PiFizz! The drink of Daistallia*s space program!* is appearing in national magazines and newspapers as well as on the top rated TV shows, including the top rated show *Bigtopians*.

Gunman kills three in shooting rampage! Pharmacy employees kill gunman!

Three people were killed in a shooting in Kaeloeng, a suburb of Daistallia city. The shooting occured at three pm local time outside the Ling Ling pharmacy, on the corner of Heart attack Street and Vine Avenue.
Witnesses report that Jan Martini had just exited the pharmacy after making a purchase of coca leaf tea. It appears Mr. Martini opened fire after being accosted by Gregor Schmidt, a local agent employed by the Hardup Collection agency. Mr. Schmidt was killed instantly in a hail of gunfire. The security gaurd og the Ling ling Pharmacy and three customers then engaged Mr. Martini in an exchange of small arms fire. In the insuing gun battle, one employee, Miss Huang Chao, and the security gaurd, Cha Iro, suffered fatal wounds.
Mr. Martini also suffered fatal wounds. All four were reported dead on arrival at the Kaeloeng Trauma center.
A spokesman for the Hardup Collection Agency says Mr. Martini was several thousand Coin in debt.
Commander Li of the Kaeloeng police is quoted as saying *We would like to commend the actions of the employees of the Ling Ling Pharmacy. Their quick thinking probably saved several lives. We need more heros like these!*

Space Launch being readied!
The Do-rjae 1 Rocket is being readied for launch. The countdown currently stands at -23:59:59 DST.
The name Do-rjae is Whilan for *lightning bolt*.

The countdown is now t minus 00:58:56 and holding.

Daistallia*s first space mission is a success. The Do-jrae 1 was launched successfully earlier today.

Massive power failure. 1/3 of the nation has been plunged into darkness as a result of the failure of the Ping Lao generating station.

37 people were arrested today at a so called *nude beach*.

The government has granted a marching permit to the Stalli National Socialist Party. The SNSP, a far-right party, plans to hold a rally and march in down town Daistallia City tomorrow.

An angry and disappointed Daistallian government withdrew from the United Nations today following the passage of the UN Labor bill. President Ti was quoted as saying "This illegal interference in internal labor and economic affairs has gone to far! We refuse to recognise the legitimacy of the theives and those in the UN who excuse them!"

The DaiEx exchange has lost over 10% of it*s value in what is the largest recession in recorded history in Daistallia. The losses are related to the international recession that has recently struck much of NationStates.

The "Definition of Labor Union Activity Act" was signed into law today.

Daistallia's economy began to see the glimmer of a recovery today as the economic rating increased from "power house" to "all consuming". President Ti had this to say:
We encourage all citizens to remain positive and continue to work hard in these difficult times. The road ahead towards recovery may be difficult and sacrifices will have to be made. The recent passage of the "Definition of Labor Union Activity Act" seems to be having a positive effect on the economy.

President Ti is pleased to announce that the economy has fully recovered from the recent NS recession.
