OOC: I haven't RP'ed in several months. So I'll assume that I was frozen in time for this period or something. Keep in mind that my navy is (or was, the last time I was RP'ing it) very strong.

IC: An emergency government meeting was held to discuss this sudden declaration of war from Objectivist Insurgents. It didn't take long before the obvious decision was made: Constantinopolis will crush the invading forces, launch a counter-offensive, and free the people of Objectivist Insurgents from the capitalist tyranny that takes away their rights and their lives.

In order to meet the threat, the 3rd Red Fleet was dispatched from the harbor of Engelsgrad. Its flagship is the PWS Trotsky, our finest Swarm Carrier. The fleet has been ordered to engage the troop transports first, then finish off their escorts.

Also, we have broadcasted two messages to Objectivist Insurgents.

To the bloodthirsty tyrants of the OI ruling class:

The time has come for you to pay for the suffering and death you have caused upon your people. Your attack will be pushed back, and the lackeys defending your stolen wealth will be crushed. There had been no further sign of the Objectivist Insurgents since their initial mad broadcast and he could only conclude that the Celdonian fleet had dealt with them in the appropriate fashion, before Constntinopolis had even had the chance.

International waters near Free Outer Eugenia

Floating on the waters of Aperin was the de Ruyter. It's old main guns and greyish appearance remenicent of the colonial days. While officially still a military vessel this ship was hardly a threat to anyone anymore. After many years of service since it's comission in 1933 the ship had been severely out of date. The Knootian government, seeking to make some money out of the old vessel, had reduced it's role to that of a museumship. Once the nightmare of the villages along the Tanah Burung coast, the ship now merely had a cultural precense.

The task she was designed for, colonial service, was no longer relevant and she was about to be decomissioned anytime soon.

Slowly the ship floated north, cutting though the strait seperating the Aperin subcontinent from the mainland to the last tourist destination she would ever visit...

Not-so-secret-IC info: In response to OI threats against a fellow CACE nation, Alvarezistan has mobilized an entire heavy bomber wing and two carrier groups previously designated for the now-defunct AMF conflict. Several marine and armor divisions have been called up for service, but it doesn't appear as though they are preparing for a defensive action.. the vessel groupings mark it as the beginning of an amphibious assault unit.

"To all CACE nations: Alvarezistan's armed forces are prepared to defend Constantinopolis from this brazen assault on its sovreignty, and are prepared to take both offensive and defensive actions in support of our CACE ally. We urge all CACE nations with the capability to mobilize their naval forces for a possible counter-attack against Objective Interventionists after the enemy's assault has been repelled."

OOC: I posted a topic describing my Swarm Carrier technology a few months ago, when I first invented it, but it seems to have dissapeared since then... :(
Basically, a Swarm Carrier is a huge, hovering (and therefore amphibious) ship, carrying several hundred flying drones armed with various weaponry. The drones have about the same range as you average carrier-based jet fighter.
Other than the Swarm Carrier PWS Trotsky, my 3rd Red Fleet does not contain any futuristic technology... well, except perhaps some really good detection systems.

Admiral Marcus Konev [most of my citizens have a Latin first name and a Russian surname] spent a long time looking at the quiet, peaceful sunset. The sky turned a beautiful shade of red as the sun shone from the horizon. After drifting in thought for a few minutes, the admiral went to his quarters and started trying to open a private communication channel with the OI fleet:

Izze Hooley lowered his binoculars and sauntered from the stern of his fishing trawler ‘Dessert Storm’, to the fore-deck where his two cousins were busy repairing nets. He hadn’t been able to identify the national markings on the distant fleet but he reasoned they were probably Celdonian… maybe Anhierachian or Constantinopolese… perhaps a mixture, as it was a larger show of naval strength than he had seen in years.

Relaxing back into his deck chair he pulled a tooth pick from his topknot and rooted around his molars for a stubborn husk of popcorn that had been irritating him since the showing of the award-winning docu-drama from SeOCC two nights before.

‘Someone was in a lot of trouble.. that was for sure’ he considered as the ‘Dessert Storm’ pitched gently.

The old colonial vessel slowly floated north in no particular hurry at all as the 66 000 horsepower engine plowed forth. Nothing was really happening untill the relatively primitive radar that had been retrofitted on the ship in the eighties began making noises:

"beep - beeep - beepbeep-beeepbeeepbeeepbeep"

"Leutenant?", the captain said; implicitly asking for an explanation.

"Sir? I am detecting multiple - wait a min..." The Leutenant counted the dots on his monitor. "...It seems as if there is a whole fleet out there! Bearing zero by ... the are dead ahead sir," he said wiping his forehead. "They appear to be blocking the entire strait!"

"Identify! the captain shouted. "Damnit and this happens when I am just on one of the few ships that do not have CAESAR installed. No computers to analise. Nothing.", he cursed in himself.

"Sir, I cannot make much of these radar signatures. They may be from Watfordshire but they could just as well be Celdonian… or Anhierachian. However there are definitly some Constantinopolese ships out there… I'm guessing the whole the Constantine 3rd Red Fleet."

"They cannot be out here for us.", the captain quickly deducted. "We obviously were allowed passage and there is no way that they are mobilising such a large fleet just for us."

The captain stood up appearing as calm as he could, projecting his aura of authority over the bridge of the de Ruyter. He was. however, by far not as impressive as the old and famous Dutch admiral the ship was named after. "hail them by radio, all these ships. One of them must be leading," he turned to his helmsman, "meanwhile continue on course. Diverting from our planned scedule may only arouse suspicion."

The Helmsman nodded and replied with a slightly squeeky voice: "aye Sir."

He fell back in his seat, wondering which of the conflicts now had erupted into war. Radiocontact with Knootoss had been spotty lately; the aged means of communication on the ship were wholly insufficient and who knows how international events had developed.

"Maybe this is it"[i]", he wondered, [i]"SATO is intervening with all this unrest going on. But now? And by attacking through the strait? De Kaste would NEVER approve of such a deathtrap and neither would the Territory. No, a SATO invasion would definitly hit SeOCC first." Dismissing that thought, he went over the other conflicts going on in the region. "The Free Outer Eugenia support escalating? No that can't be. Empire and Telleneric Aperin aren't naval powers. So what on earth could trigger such a fleet mobilisation"...

The 170 metres long ship slowly entered the wedge ( or another kind of formation I presume) the CACE naval forces had set up. The radio crackling an identifying message.

This is the KDF de Ruyter - identity DRKS-593129 dash B. Proceeding according to filed scedule. Requesting information on what is going on. We are not a threat - I repeat we are not a threat .... this is the KDF de Ruy...

We are mobilising our forces to deal with this ridiculous threat. Our tiny navy of coastal-defence submarines will never reach the theater of operations on time, but our tankers and strike aircraft are being readied as we speak.

could we land returning fighters on your airbases after airstrikes against the invading fleet? we don't really have the capacity to fight a war so far away from our nation

"Damn treasonous bastards. Who's paying him?"

We proceed - we ,must engage the Constantine Navy at FULL SPEED! We shall make them PAY for their unslefishness! With Iesus Christi on the way, we shall slay these bleeding-heart commies and make them our slaves! "

A loud cheer from the crew arose.

"And we shall slay them, and eat them, and all shall hail the works of Ayn Rand!!!"

The crew was in a frenzy as the fleet prepared for engagement.

Well, we made it, Admiral Chathai thought to himself as he looked out toward the Aperin sunset. "Any sign of the Objectivist fleet?"

"Yes, sir, we're out of their range, but longe-range patrols have identified them."

"Good then, prepare to..."

"Wait sir, we've detected a lone helicopter taking off from the Ayn Rand. My guess it it's the admiral sir."

"Probably going to talk to his Constantine counterpart. Good idea- you've got to be a fool if you think you can take over a country of over a billion people with just three divisions."

The admiral then called the fleet via infrared comm. Attention all ships. We have located the Randian fleet, however we are not to engage immediately. We are however, on full alert. All men are to man their battle stations and prepare for combat. It appears there may be a diplomatic solution to this mess, so let's wait to see if it happens. Still, we must be prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, we may be going to war. May God have mercy on us all."

Heading north into the Aperin strait
The old colonial vessel slowly floated north in no particular hurry at all as the 66 000 horsepower engine plowed forth. Nothing was really happening untill the relatively primitive radar that had been retrofitted on the ship in the eighties began making noises:

"beep - beeep - beepbeep-beeepbeeepbeeepbeep"

"Leutenant?", the captain said; implicitly asking for an explanation.

"Sir? I am detecting multiple - wait a min..." The Leutenant counted the dots on his monitor. "...It seems as if there is a whole fleet out there! Bearing zero by ... the are dead ahead sir," he said wiping his forehead. "They appear to be blocking the entire strait!"

"Identify! the captain shouted. "Damnit and this happens when I am just on one of the few ships that do not have CAESAR installed. No computers to analise. Nothing.", he cursed in himself.

"Sir, I cannot make much of these radar signatures. They may be from Watfordshire but they could just as well be Celdonian… or Anhierachian. However there are definitly some Constantinopolese ships out there… I'm guessing the whole the Constantine 3rd Red Fleet."

"They cannot be out here for us.", the captain quickly deducted. "We obviously were allowed passage and there is no way that they are mobilising such a large fleet just for us."

The captain stood up appearing as calm as he could, projecting his aura of authority over the bridge of the de Ruyter. He was. however, by far not as impressive as the old and famous Dutch admiral the ship was named after. "hail them by radio, all these ships. One of them must be leading," he turned to his helmsman, "meanwhile continue on course. Diverting from our planned scedule may only arouse suspicion."

The Helmsman nodded and replied with a slightly squeeky voice: "aye Sir."

He fell back in his seat, wondering which of the conflicts now had erupted into war. Radiocontact with Knootoss had been spotty lately; the aged means of communication on the ship were wholly insufficient and who knows how international events had developed.

"Maybe this is it"[i]", he wondered, [i]"SATO is intervening with all this unrest going on. But now? And by attacking through the strait? De Kaste would NEVER approve of such a deathtrap and neither would the Territory. No, a SATO invasion would definitly hit SeOCC first." Dismissing that thought, he went over the other conflicts going on in the region. "The Free Outer Eugenia support escalating? No that can't be. Empire and Telleneric Aperin aren't naval powers. So what on earth could trigger such a fleet mobilisation"...

The 170 metres long ship slowly entered the wedge ( or another kind of formation I presume) the CACE naval forces had set up. The radio crackling an identifying message.

And from what my sensors tell me, they intend to charge straight at us. A suicidal maneuver if I ever saw one."

Attention all ships in the vicinity of Aperin. We have recently sighted an Objectivist Insurgent fleet en route to engage a Constantinopolis fleet. OI fleet includes 1 carrier croup, numerous assault ships. Expected to be reinfocred by two Iesus Christi fleets, number of IC ships unknown. Survival of Syskeyian/Constantine fleet uncertian. Request help if possible.

OOC: Actually, I'm waiting for Iesus Christi to respond to my hail. He's in New Zealand, and I'm US Central Time (That's as accurate as I'll probably tell you where I am ;), so I'm being patient.

Besides, I only have one official CACE ally, and that's Constantinopolis (I only interevened when Iesus Christi sent help to OI; otherwise, Constantinopolis could handle the situation by himself.)
