The World Series Coverage opens with the new NSMLB World Series Ad on the scoreboard:

http://earth.prohosting.com/nsmlb/WS.mov

Immediately after the ad is done, a marching band of over 1000 members from 10 nations (who snuck onto the field during the ad), starts playing the national anthems of Steel Butterfly (who annexed Bivens) and of Nianacio. Performing along with the band was a 150 member drill team and a 100 member flag team. At the end of the second national anthem, fighter planes from all 18 current NSMLB nations flew over in a special formation.

Proceeding that were player introductions, and then the game.

“It’s good to see you here, Dick.”

“You too, John. It’s a little chilly here, but overall it’s one hell of a day for NationStates Major League Baseball: the first World Series!”

“Roprt Krov of the Tigers vs. Eric Apakoh of the Dragons!”

“In the first inning, Eric Apakoh gives up his first three runs of the post season with a three-run no out home run by Steel Butterfly native Vladmir Verikov! Shaken, but not stirred, Apakoh responds by striking out the side.”

“In the 3rd inning, Krov walks Adam Pernese and then gives up a double to Brad Amphipteer making for runners on 2nd and 3rd.

Announcer’s Voice
“Runners on 2nd and 3rd…the pitch comes in to Hydra…WILD PITCH…and Pernese scores as the ball gets past Pench the catcher.”

“With the next pitch, Hydra pops out, driving in a run, and making the score 3-2, Tigers.”

“As we get to the 6th inning, Apakoh is pitching perfect minus the 3 runs in the first as he strikes out the side. Bottom 6, Drake hits one deep…but it’s caught by Vladmir Verikov with an amazing diving catch!”

“The Tigers don’t do much in the 7th, and performing "Take Me out to the Ballgame" in the seventh inning stretch was "Blue Dalmatian", Kisnesia's top Big-Band Jazz Group.”

“Bottom 7 is where the Bivens bats come alive! With no outs, Hydra, Mungand, Fafnir, Lambton, and Drake each hit doubles, driving in four runs, making the score 6-3 for the Dragons. Krov gets pulled for reliever Changkam Franko who walks Nyd Hogg, loading the bases.”

“Yes, but amazingly, he gets Amphipteer, Hydra, and Mungand out to retire the side. Bivens leaves the bases loaded as they walk into the 8th.”

“Apakoh still going strong, gets strikeout numbers 16, 17 and 18 in the 8th inning. He’s on a quest for 20…will he get it?”

“Bottom 8th, with two outs, Tiger pitcher Tenshin Ekikuchi gives up the solo home run to Drake, who continues to set the postseason standard for home runs.”

“Top 9, and the Tigers need a rally. Ton Kushiken, Taro Chite, and Vladmir Verikov are up. Apakoh Strikes out Kushiken on 3 pitches, number 19 for him. Next up, Taro Chite. With a 0-2 count, Chite smashes the ball into the gap, but Pernese makes a punch-drunk catch for the second out. Now Verikov, the only man with WS RBI’s for the Tigers, is up…”

Announcer’s Voice
“…and we have a full count on Verikov. Pitcher Eric Apakoh is going for his complete game win but also his 20th strikeout. The pitch is in, and OH! Verikov hits it long…deep…foul ball. Another one, and the blazing fast ball comes…fouled back. That one hit 100 mph! Another pitch…curve ball…Verikov swings…he misses! HE MISSES! Apakoh strikes out #20 to end the game!”

NGNN News
Hello, this is NGNN news, your number one news source for late-breaking stories and daily news. Today's top story: the first world series of the NSMLB. Though our beloved Greyhounds failed to make the playoffs, AL fans from all around New Genoa have been showing their enthusiasm as they root for the Tigers.

Quite true, John. In fact, late night parties are held during night games in New Genoa as thousands of fans watch the game on a big screen TV in Great Square.

Sadly, Bivens, to be merged with Steel Butterfly next year, defeated Nianacio 7 to 3.

A shame. Anyway, now for the weather.

And here's game two!

“Welcome to game 2 of the NSMLB world series! I am Dick Steel and here is my partner in crime, John Butterfly.”

“Yes, Dick, we had a matchup tonight that proved fundamentals win baseball games.”

“Yeah, John, when any team commits 6 errors in one game, it is bound to get ugly. This time, it cost the Dragons big.”

“Petro Martines took the mound for the Tigers and Andrew Drachen for the Dragons.”

“It was the bottom of the fifth for the Tigers when Martines loaded the bases for Sean Drake. The pitch came in…and Drake, who has the NSMLB postseason record for home runs, laid down a bunt completely shocking the Tigers and driving in a run! Hogg struck out, but Adam Pernese came up huge again for the Dragons, hitting a double that brought another three in.”

“And the top of the 8th is when things started to get ugly. With two men on, Brad Amphipteer dropped a fly ball in left field, bringing in two runs. On the next play, a ball went through John Lambton’s legs. Lambton recovered and threw it home…or at least attempted to…as the ball sailed into the fans. With the score 4-3, Drachen was pulled after giving up only 5 hits, striking out 10, and charged with no earned runs. Elliot Noxap came in for relief.”

“Noxap gave up a big homerun to Chas Chonson, the catcher filling in for Choni Pench who was out with the flu. The 4-4 tie continues through the 9th into extra innings.”

“In the top of the 10th, Charo Ruth lines to first, only for Hydra to miss the ball! As Ruth rounds second, Hydra whips the ball to the shortstop who drops it while making the tag! Speedster Ropun Aroma smacks a double into left, but man of the World Series Adam Pernese guns out Ruth at home, saving the tie…for now.”

“Aroma reaches third on a no contest by the catcher. And then reaches home the following play by a wild pitch from Noxap.”

“In the bottom of the 10th, Sean Drake launches one deep to center with two outs, but it is caught on the warning track by Center Fielder Ton Kushiken.”

“The Tigers won tonight with clutch hitting and excellent awareness on the basepaths, but Bivens truly defeated themselves, giving up only one earned run compared to 4 unearned runs.”

Game 3 baby!

“Dick, what ever happened to pitching?”

“Well, Garr Ryuu did have a hefty ERA of 5.67 during the regular season, although he did win many games.”

“Santoso Kofaks, though, was a surprise.”

“So welcome to Nianacio! As the series shifts across the galaxy, some wondered if the teams would be rusty. Paul Hydra put that thesis to rest by hitting the first pitch of the game out of the ballpark! Then, after striking out Mungand and Fafnir, he gave up a double to Lambton and then a two run shot to Drake, making the score 3-0! Hogg hit one deep, yet it was caught amazingly by Tom Kushiken.”

“In the bottom of the first, Kushiken responded by hitting Ryuu’s second pitch out of the ball park. Chite got on base, stole third, and then got hit home by a Verikov double, followed by two strikeouts and a solo shot to Aroma, tying the score at 3 all! Hose Kresna, playing first base, hit a homerun, giving the Tigers the lead!”

“In the second inning of this Home Run derby, er, World Series game, Pernese led the inning with a solo home run off of a 3-0 count tying the game at 4 each. Amphipteer flew out, Hydra singled, Mungand walked, setting the stage for Caesar Fafnir. Fafnir drilled Kofak’s pitch right back at him, strking the Tiger pitcher in his pitching shoulder. Swelling began immediately and Kofaks was forced to leave the game. Paul Hydra, amazed at what happened, stopped at 3rd. Lambton struck out to Changkam Smots, the winner of game 2.”

“Amazingly, the onslaught of hitters stopped for the time being, and didn’t resume until the top of the 7th.”

“With Smots still pitching, and the bases loaded, Sean Drake hits a grand slam after fouling off 5 straight pitches putting the Dragons ahead, 8-4. Hogg struck out, but Pernese came up and hit his 2nd solo home run of the game, and making the score 9-4. Garr Ryuu and the Dragons were running away with game 3. Amphipteer doubles off of Roprt Thikpen, and Hydra triples, driving in the final run of the 6-run inning. The score was 10-4 and Ryuu struck three out in the bottom of the 7th.”

“However, Thikpen settled down and struck out 3 in the top of the 8th. Garr had pitched plenty of innings, and he was out of the game. Reliever Peter Ofogo was in, and all hell broke lose. After giving up a single and walking two, slugger Vladmir Verikov took one deep…but not quite deep enough, having to settle for a ground rule double. On the next pitch, Chite stole home! It wasn’t a wild pitch, it wasn’t a passed ball…HE STOLE HOME! Drake had ran out to make the tag…and the speedster Chite jumped over him after faking the slide.”

“With the score 10-5, Ruth, Aroma, and Kresna each doubled, driving in 3 runs, and bringing the Tigers within 2. The comeback had started and there was only one out! Choni Pench singled off of Ouro Boros, who had come in for Ofogo, and then Chite hit a two out double, making the score 10-9 with Vladmir Verikov up to bat. Vladmir smacked one in the gap, tying the game for the Tigers.”

“After a non-eventful 9th inning, it was time for the second straight game of extra innings. Tenshin Ekikuchi was pitching for the Tigers and game 1 winner Eric Apakoh came in, in place of the injured closer Rick Wyrm. With one out, Drake hit a double into the gap. Hogg popped out deep, advancing Drake to third. Then Adam Pernese came to bat.”

“Pernese had already hit two solo homers twice in this game, making his post season home run total equal to his regular season home run total. As the pitch came in one the 1-1 count, Mr. October struck again, hitting his third home run of the game! The Tigers fans, who had been blissful from the comeback, suddenly got quiet. They needed two runs off Apakoh.”
“Apakoh, the most dominant pitcher in the regular season, and unbeaten in the post season so far had utterly dominated the Tigers in game 1. However, this was after his horrific start in the first inning where he gave up 3 runs. The Tigers needed to strike fast...but it wasn’t meant to be. Apakoh struck out three in a row, to record his second World Series win!”

One Kaos fan watching on the huge screen in Kaza Sports Square, which was partly filled by 3,000 baseball fans, said 'These hitters are amazing... but if our hitters play half this good next season, we can score more than a few runs against them. I hope that the manager is watching where the hitters are going right - and where the pitchers are going wrong!'

Game 4

“Well Dick, Nianacio might have just proved that they mean business tonight.”

“Yes John…Hydra, Pernese, and of course Drake all came up big tonight with homers for the Dragons, and Dragon starter Volker Feuer who pitched 5 2/3 innings and only gave up 3 runs had his best start in the postseason; however, it was another late-inning surge that won it for the Tigers.”

“In the first inning, Sean Drake hit a 3-run homer with two outs and a full count on him. Rachasa Kremens then struck out disappointing Nyd Hogg.”

“On we go to the 5th, where Feuer gave up two runs with 3 straight Tiger doubles by Chite, Verikov, and Kaminiti.”

“Paul Hydra hit a home run in the top of the 6th, but so did Aroma in the bottom of the same inning, and after Utility player Hose Kresna doubled, Feuer was out of the game. In his place was game two loser Elliot Noxap.”

“Noxap struggled against Nianacio in game two and he did in this game as well. With two outs, and the score 4-3 in favor of the Dragons, Noxap gave up 4 runs in 5 batters, including a two run shot from Verikov.”

“When asked why he left the struggling reliever in, the Dragon manager said “We are really short on pitching…and we are working without a closer…thanks to Steel Butterfly. Also, we couldn’t use out main two starters because we need them to start and close the next game. Out bullpen really needs to step in up in game 5…we might just pitch all starters.”

“Mr. October, Adam Pernese, hit a two run homer in the top of the 9th with no outs, but Ekikuchi, who lost yesterday, struck out Amphipteer, Hydra, and Mungand to get the win.”

and the finalle..game 5!

http://earth.prohosting.com/nsmlb/WS.mov

“It started with 20 teams…only 8 were good enough to go on. Out of those 8…only 4 triumphed in battle…”

Video shots of Agrigento, Nianacio, Steel Butterfly, and Bivens players hitting home runs, making amazing catches, etc.

“Those four started on a collision course, with four coming in but only two going out.”

Video footage of Ropun Aroma’s double to the corner to drive in Charo Ruth, clinching the AL Pennant and then goes to Sean Drake’s game and series winning grand slam in the bottom of the 9th of game 5 of the NLCS.

“Finally…it was time for titans to clash and empires to fall…gods were arising out of men…the battles intensifying…each meaning more than the last…and finally…game five of the first ever NSMLB World Series!”

“Eric Apakoh, Dick, was the most dominant pitcher this postseason, only giving up 5 runs in the WHOLE POSTSEASON!”

“Yes, John, but remember…3 of those runs came against the Tigers!”

“Nianacio wasn’t as lucky this time….”

“The Dragons of Bivens, playing their last game ever in their home stadium, sold out for the last time ever, were not about to lose.”

“Apakoh was simply amazing, and the bats of Bivens could not be stopped! In the first inning, Martines gave up a lead-off home run to Hydra. The Tigers would never regain the lead. In the Second, Martines gave up solo home runs to both Drake and Pernese, making the score 3-0. In the top of the 4th, Apakoh records his 10th strikeout…already!”

“Yeah, John, Apakoh didn’t give up a hit until the 7th inning, and only gave up two all game.”

“In the bottom of the 5th, Sean Drake steps up to bat with runners on the corners and hits another home run, adding a few more votes to his MVP total, and increasing the lead to 6-0. He is most definitely a candidate.”

“Not to be outdone, Adam Pernese hits another solo shot two batters later! Drake can only laugh as he sees it leave the park.”

“And who’s in the stands? None other than Dave Warheit, Pernese’s counterpart on Steel Butterfly. Could the Monarch’s MVP have his job contested if Pernese wins the World Series MVP?”

“In the 6th, Caesar Fafnir drives in Apakoh with a double, making the lead 7-0. Lambton hits him home, but is thrown out going to 3rd.”

“Top 7, Chite and Verikov both single off of Apakoh, but he strikes out the side, making it 18 on the day. However, his arm is a little sore and won’t re-enter the game.”
“In the bottom of the 7th, Drake perhaps clinches his MVP award by hitting his third home run of the game off of Santoso Kofaks who is in for relief. He is truly a special player…this is just ridiculous.”

“In the top of the 9th, Dustin Vuur gives up a two run homer to Vladmir Verikov, but to no avail, as the Dragons win their first, and last World Series. No one could ever imagine a better ending to their first and final season with the NSMLB.”

“Yes, Dick…but with this kind of talent…I expect to see these boys back soon…especially mixed in with Steel Butterfly players!”

“That goes for Nianacio as well…almost coming away with the upset.”

“Good night folks…and we’ll see you next season!”
