OOC: Comments are welcome, tough not necessarily needed :P Seriously, if there's some godmoding here (I don't think there is or is going to be, but it is a possibility), feel free to tell it. And don't insult my navy, I'm just developing it :P I'm going to add more ships when they are built.

Oh, and by the way, don't steal those pictures. I made them myself, using DoGa. It wasn't too hard, but.. They're still mine :P

Oh, and by the way.. Don't care about those guns' sizes. If a cannon that' s said to be heavy looks small, it's just my mistake :P Other than that, those pics are pretty accurate.

The Falcon Space Superiority Fighter

Description: The Falcon is the most advanced ship in the Kekkish Space Navy. It is capable of reaching very high speed, without losing too much manouverability, thus being a very effective fighter.

The Falcon is an excellent dogfighter. It is equipped with two, rather large laser turrets that have very advanced aiming systems. Once the pilot has targeted, the enemy craft will be ruined. It can also be equipped with either two large missiles, suitable for use against smaller capital ships, or four smaller missiles designed to make short work of enemy fighters and bombers. Both missiles can be controlled by the pilot. The Falcon's main weakness, though, is it's cost. Though the price of a Falcon is yet classified, it is the main reason to why the government isn't planning to build such a huge amount of them.

The Gull Interceptor

Description: The Gull is a starfighter designed to intercept enemy bombers. While it does have rather good dogfighting capabilities, it is wiser to let the Falcon's handle the enemy fighters. The Gull is equipped with two small missiles that can destroy an enemy bomber with one hit. It is, homewer, not a match for a capital ship, even a smaller one. Homewer, with it's low production cost, it is a good fighter.

The Skua Bomber

Description: Although not a very advanced craft, the Skua is nonetheless a good bomber. Designed to work in large groups, the Skua is a worthy opponent for capital ships of most sizes, if not for the largest ones. It carries tree heavy missiles that are slow to be used against fighters, but painful against capital ships. The Skua also has two heavier laser turrets that, if aimed carefully, can destroy an interceptor with one hit. Meaning that in groups they have quite a lot of firepower.

The Lynx-Class Patrol Ship

Description: It has been debated whether or not Lynx is a capital ship at all. Even if it isn't, it is the first "big" ship of Kekkosmaa, capable of carrying five fighters and three bombers. Lynx is officially classified as a "patrol ship", but "fast attack ship" would describe it's battle role better. Armed with two missile launchers capable of launching a dozen of missiles at a time, a group of Lynxes is capable of destroying a Star Destroyer withouit suffering too much losses. With it's 4, rather speedy and large laser turrets, a Lynx is well guarded against fighters too, especially in groups. It could be more heavily armored, though, but that would mean a loss of speed, and speed is the most important aspect of Lynx.

Guardian-Class Corvette

Armour: Heavy (the ship is mainly designed to escort slow convoys or serve as a defencive ship)

Atmosphere capable: No
Amount: 1 (total of 120 to be built)
Description: Unlike most other Kekkish ships, the Guardian trusts heavy armour instead of speed. It moves quite slowly for it's size, but it's armour makes it able to withstand many hits from all kinds of weapons. The Guardian's main role in battle will be to cover larger capital ships from enemy attacks - if it's even taken to battle, that is. It is mostly designed to be a defencive ship that stays home. It has pretty good armament, and works well in defence.

Nice ships, did you create them yourself?

EDIT: Just noticed that you had already mentioned you had made them yourself. They're very good, heh.

A good start for a space navy, kudos on keeping it realistic as you start off. Don't think there will be a problem with Godmodding so long as you keep prices sane. I'm looking foward to seeing the rest of your fleet.

OOC: Actually, I have, but then I decided that Kekkosmaa will be staying in Earth.. So I ignored the whole thing. Besides, I didn't plan that too well. And now I decided, that Kekkosmaa will be moving to space :P But this time I'll do it a bit slower and a bit more carefully too.
A good question, though. Most nations go to space when they reach 100 million.. And I'm going to space when I reach the billion. Heh :)

there are quite a few nations of a little over a billion that prefer to stay modern tech, AMF is one of them, well now is anyways. . . anywho, I didn't move to space till I hit 500 million, so he' not all that late getting here, and he'll have a leg up on a workforce that smaller nations just don't have.

Accualy, once he's got his navy in full swing I'd like a go at him. won't press the issue with a real war mind you, but I wouldn't mind some interstellar wargames.
