THE MODERN OMZIAN HISTORY: 1878-2015: COVERED.
This is the complete modern history of Omzian Nation, in words. From the Omzian Republic, to the Armed Republic. From the Great Revolution, to the Modern Omzian Nation, we present you: The Modern Omzian History: Covered..
==============================
1878-1890: The Beginning
In 1878, the handover was official: the Omzian Republic “Freedom Fighter” forces earned control of Omzian Islands, from the surrender of the Estrapian-Omzian Imperium. It has been 6 years of fighting: rich and poor, government and “Freedom Fighters”. The victory for these young, but inexperienced, “Freedom Fighters”.
President Ukan Chave declared Omzian Republic independent on July 2nd, 1878. A lot of poor and middle class citizens cheered, and celebrated. The rich citizens were at least, satisfied. A Congress is formed, and a Constitution is written up. Democratic and free economic policies were introduced, boosting international trade with other European nations greatly. General Elections are held every 6 years, according to the Republican Constitution. An Armed Forces is also formed --- the Omzian Free Republican Armies.
But there are still 2 ramps before Omzian Republic can get off the stage: isolation, large population below poverty line, crime rate, and most important of all --- lack of money.
1890-1942: The Moderns
After these many years, Omzian Republic is still in the poverty line. Gangs were formed in big cities, and inflation is coming.
In 1890, after the 4th General Election, the new President Yankze Uanran introduced several policies --- to stop the poverty, and to stop gang crimes. A better police force is formed, and more money were put in education and social welfare --- rare in old Omzian Nation. Although the unemployment rate is still high, most poor people got their basic needs --- and homeless people were decreased. With the education policy, the literacy rate raised up to 82.5% --- from a low 31.9%. Basic clinics were also opened. More and more people were also encouraged to work, and more and more private businesses are open. Although the government is still in debt --- although small --- the economy certainly improved. Crime levels are also dropped, with the surprising outlaw of gambling and prostitution. The number of private properties and people on the “rich” level are also rising.
Omzian Republic is more and more stepping onto the world stage. Trades with foreign nations are skyrocketing, and foreign cultures are also passed into Omzian Nation.
It is clear that Omzian Republic is now considered a “rich” country, after all these years of modernization and development. The Armed Forces is also becoming powerful --- with the creation of Navy, Army Air Corps, Army Marine Corps, and Army Air Troopers Corps.
December 25, 1942: The Christmas Coup
On the rising of the Omzian Republic --- it is clear that internal conflicts are rising. Including a failed attempt of assassination of President Youn Carn in 1941 by the military, it is clear that the military is fighting for independence.
On the night of December 24, 1942, when President Garner Voutra is on vacation at the Omzian Northern Coast --- the Omzian Republican Army General Gansa Zakarov made it public that he wants to coup against the Republic. On the midnight, some say 3:00AM, and some say 3:08AM --- approximately 800 Army soldiers surrounded the luxury residence of President Voutra, even with tanks. President Voutra was arrested by General Gansa Zakarov’s guards, and was put into a “Detention Camp”. Then, some say 1 month later, while some say just 3 day later, and a few say 2 weeks later --- President Voutra is executed without a trial.
After the successful coup --- and the capture of over 280 important government members of the Republic --- General Zakarov officially announced the creation of “a new, reformed Omz222” --- Omzian Armed Republic. The old flag, consists of red, blue, and green stripes --- were burnt, and a new flag with a red background and a white star, rose. At that date, citizens of Omz222 still haven’t realized the coup --- until the afternoon. On the afternoon, General Zakarov made it public on radio and other form of media, that Omzian Republic is overthrown by them. The middle and poor citizens didn’t mind, while some rich citizens immediately made preparations to escape. Just at the afternoon, General Zakarov officially blocked all forms of transportation to outside nations.
1943-1956: The New Arisen
The life of the new Armed Republic for middle class and rich class citizens --- are just terrible. General Zakarov has introduced Mikaneazvan Alra-Zorne, or “New Collective Concept” --- banning private businesses, and forced the control of various industries. At that date, the Omzian economy has collapsed. All citizens considered “Rich” are sent to “Reeducation Centers” and “Redemption Centers”, and mostly were never seen again. Many poor and middle class citizens are forced to work in farms, or heavy industries. Many died because of fatigue, accidents at factories, or executed, because they cannot meet the quotas. Other more “educated” citizens are also forced to work in the government, with most working in the military and security agencies.
The second step General Zakarov took, is to make the political stage private. Over 12,000 people who were a part in the Omzian Republic were sent into prisons. Some 11,000 were executed over the years. General Zakarov declared himself “Supreme Director of Omzian Armed Republic”, and put many of his top officers as various other government leaders. Disloyal officers and leaders are executed, while internal conflicts arise. There are several failed attempt of assassinating General Zakarov by other close officers, but all are then exposed. The most shocking one is by one of General Zakarov’s closest friend, General Urgan Kansa-Ukan, who tried to put poison into General Zakarov’s wine. After the attempt is exposed, General Kansa-Ukan is hanged in public, in the “Great People’s Square” at Osaria.
Ironically, General Zakarov also created more social “welfare”, but all are not in the right position. In Christmas 1943, he introduced the Pungae Policy, or “For all”, and opened “public kitchens” and public shelters. But the citizen never ate well in these public kitchens --- instead, many citizens died of food poisoning, also as a result of heavy workload and lack of healthcare.
A few years later, General Zakarov has realized his mistakes at creating the policies --- how the economic is declining, and how more and more citizens are dying of poverty. Instead, he boosted the workload for citizens, especially at steel production plants. More collective farms are also open --- but little food goes to the farmers. Many farmers were caught stealing a few handful of rice --- and were sent to “reeducation camps”.
Human rights in the Zakarov Regime are also obviously decreasing. General Zakarov once again, outlawed prostitution, gambling. General Zakarov has also set up the series of Punjafe, or “Modernization”, policies, which resulted in extensive curfews. Marriages between young couples are also monitored extensively, and traveling to places outside of Omzian Armed Republic is banned. Lawyers are also banned, with the usage of alcohol and tobacco extensively controlled.
Omzian Nation lies in ruins.
August 1943: Rise of the Workers
At August 1943, in the annual “summer holidays”, a group of young educated citizens secretly organized the Omzian Socialist Party --- led by Oma Zee, a librarian. The goal of this organization is to unite, and hopefully overthrow General Zakarov. A few soldiers also joined. Surprisingly, this underground network has gone many years without General Zakarov’s noticing. In 1953, there are already over 80,000 members, among the poor and idle classes. But, as secrecy always will be exposed, General Zakarov has found out.
On January 2, 1954, during General Zakarov’s “Supreme Speech of Year”, he announced the official crackdown of the socialists. On that month, over 1800 members were arrested in major cities, and over 780 were executed. Others were also slowly exposed, with another 2000 members arrested. Many were publicly hanged, and General Zakarov has straightened the extensive monitoring on all citizens. Oma Zee and his group quickly relocated to the remote Northern Mountains, and formed the Omzian People’s Liberation Army with other defected soldiers. It is on the verge of a civil war.
July 8, 1956--September 2, 1963: The Poor Rises
On the midnight of July 8, 1956, the Omzian People’s Liberation Army --- already at a number of 198,000 people, advanced to various Northern Mountain villages, and officially seized the large Zankbar County --- easily. At that county, the rebels quickly set up a base of operation, and captured over 80 T-55 tanks in an unguarded Army base.
Zakarov’s army reacted quickly. Just a week later, a massive force of 80,000 is sent to the county, to attempt to recapture the county. But because the low morale of the loyalist force, and the extensive experience of the rebels at extreme climates, the force of 80,000 is immediately defeated. A number of 1200 loyalists even joined the rebels, and shared weaponries and intelligence.
Seeing his Army becoming useless, General Zakarov immediately activated his “Elite Zakarov Guardians”, a well-trained and very loyal force of 120,000. Immediately, he used that force to recapture Zankbar County. The strong rebel force resisted, but not well. Firefights broke up there for several months, with bombing raids by loyalist bomber aircraft. Quickly, the rebels relocated in the caves, and the loyalists recaptured the southern portion of the county, with minimal casualty. On the rebel side however, major casualties from bombing raids weakened their forces. The forces quickly reorganized, and daily firefights still broke on. Quickly, catching the loyalist forces decreasing in the county area, the rebels quickly advanced, recaptured Zankbar County plus several others, and advanced into the southern portion of the Northern Mountains region. At that route, the loyalists forces successfully gained another “farmer force” of 20,000, plus a small airfield. Bombing raids on villages continued, bringing casualties to both civilians and rebels. The loyalist Guards quickly retreated to Venda, a major city south of the Northern Mountains. Clearly, they cannot match the defiance and morale of the rebel forces.
The “psylogical warfare” continued at other major cities far from the Northern Mountains. Another group of 400 socialist party members are captured, and more curfew was enacted. However, many angered citizens at Osaria revolted on August 1, 1958, but that resulted in a bloody disaster. Over 10,000 citizens are massacred, with over 700 captured. However, the citizens rioted. Other citizens at other major citizens also revolted, pushing Zakarov’s government. Although almost every revolt ended in blood, but the citizens are certainly determined.
On the fighting front, the rebel forces advanced to the Western Plains of Omz222. Because of lax security there, it is quickly captured. The “Zakarov Guards” continued to pour in, and gained success in the first series of attacks, with bombing raids. However, because the rebels is scattered, the Guards never did capture the territories, and lost. The rebel forces gained another 30,000 there, with a number of about 180,000. Although most are farmers with poor training, they received their sneak tactics of suicide attacks and night attacks. Slow fighting continued on from summer 1958 to October 1959.
Because the major defeat, Zakarov has lost hope for the Northwestern of Omz222. Quickly, he stationed over 800,000 troops at Central Omz222, including Osaria. He knows that losing Osaria means a major revolt by the citizens, so curfews continued. At January 1960, 900,000 Army troops with 100,000 reserves stationed there. Many, however, have a low morale. At December 1960, it is another step for the rebels. The rebels quickly advanced onto the Southwest, quickly defeating the loyalists there. The loyalists forces, seeing this is a good chance of attacking the Northern Mountains, launched a retaliation attack. It failed, however, the rebels were scattered, well. The rebels are now slowly surroundering the capital, Osaria. With the capture of the major city of Gansav City, the rebels received a huge boost of appreciation by the citizens, and a boost of morale.
By November 1961, the People’s Liberation Army has assembled a force of 220,000. Some joined the force are also bomber pilots, and now 5 Tu-4 bombers are now at the hand of the rebel forces. 28 MiG-17s were also captured. The People’s Liberation Army now also has a good airpower. In retaliation, the People’s Liberation Army launched several bombing runs on Osaria, but failed horribly. Although the loyalist forces are damaged, civilians are also hurt, with 4 bombers shot down. In retaliation, the loyalist forces launched another failed attempt of bombing the rebel forces, but the bombers are shot down by the MiG-17s.
At November 1962, the rebels now control 82% of the territory. The last objective: capture Osaria. The rebel forces assembled a larger force of 260,000, and advanced in. But. The attempt failed, with the invading force defeated. Intense firefight continued, until March 1963. By then, Osaria is already in the vicinity of the rebels. At September, Osaria now falls to the rebels. Almost victory.
The loyalist forces are now retreating to the east, attempting to use their navy to land on an island, However, the rebel forces already caught a few navy ports, and using the Tu-4 bombers, they bombed several loyalists naval ports. General Zakarov, in anger, directed his forces to have a quick landing on Sakarov Island on the east, leaving the eastern territory for the rebels, However, he underestimated the rebels’ power. The rebels successfully landed on the Island at June 1963, after several attempts. It is victory. Now, General Zakarov’s regime finally fell.
September 3, 1963—1988: The Golden Years
After the defeat of General Zakarov, the rebel declared victory, and the Democratic Republic of Omz222 is formed. Oma Zee is now Premier, with his close comrades on the top level of the government. General Zakarov is tried with 28 counts on October 1, and executed on the following day.
It means a slow and painful recovery: Omz222 lays in ruins. To start off, Oma Zee announced that a citizen-elected Parliament will be formed, and introduced several open economic policies. Social Welfare is also introduced, and Omz222 once recovers back --- slowly. Elections for the President and the Parliament is held every 5 years, with the formation of the High Military Council and High Administrative Council. Omz222 had a speedy recovery, with its hardworking citizens and Oma Zee’s open policies. 15 years later, Omz222’s economy is already at a level of “Very Good”. Citizens are granted much more freedoms, and many state-controlled corporations with small private businesses were formed. The farmers also recovered, producing quality crops every year.
On July 7, 1981, after the great recovery, Oma Zee, with President Bofor Kanran, announced the Desan Du-Polte policy, or “Open to Modernization”. At that period, policies are even more lax, with various foreign corporations residing in. Omz222 also joined the RGGA Alliance on October 8, 1983, cooperating with its new allies.
On 1988, however, things has changed.
December 12, 1988: The Silent Coup
On that date, things has changed. Oma Zee, faced with several internal conflicts within the government, was a target of the People’s Liberation Forces --- again. On the night of December 12, Oma Zee is suddenly contacted with the PLF --- and forced to sign a “handover contract” --- with the PLF General, General Honjak Ukanstan, in power. Oma Zee, however, is introduced to the rank of a vice premier. The government is now under military control --- however, without the citizens really noticing, although it has been made in public.
General Honjak Ukanstan, quickly introduced several “Military first” policies. Oma Zee, as the vice-Premier, continued to encourage private economy sectors to grow, and the citizens to join the government. By July 1995, Omz222 already has an “All-Consuming” economy.
1996-: The Final Years
With the new management and policies, Omz222 officially joined the NATO Alliance on Summer 1998, followed by a membership in the SATO Alliance in 2002, and UNAOTO in 2003. Omz222 continued to step up to the world stage, with a booming economy. The military also has grew strong, in technology. Until now, Omz222 is a truly modern country, after the recovery from disasters.
