The streets of Psylos were full all over the week-end. The people were celebrating the not so bad performance of our players.
All analysts were expecting a ridiculous score along the line of 10-0 against Ardnaxela, but Saturday everybody was delighted by the exceptionnal performance of our defense.
A sentiment of pride in our football team is rising whereas it was not rare to hear our citizens making fun of our own team not so long ago.

Be prepared Svensson. As the confidence is rising among our player, it will be a great symbolic victory as we beat one of Svecia's team, the most football loving country in the confederation.

We are very proud of our team for not getting creamed on the field. Our nation has never played futbol before, so we just fielded a team of the best athletes among the mountain tribes and taught them the rules. It seems there is an old traditional game among these tribes that is very similar to futbol, ecxept that they played till the death. I am not surprised that, because of this background, they did not allow any goals scored against us. Now if they could just figure out an offense...

Svecia felt it was invincible coming into this tournament after being recently ranked second in the world. However a slow start with a 2-2 tie to 13th seeded Her Sexyness was a wake up call to the Lightning.

Tourism in Svecia has increased an estimated 200% this fall because of the combination of a royal wedding, a coronation and birthday party for the new king, and the tournament of Svecia's beloved sport of Voetbal.

There has been an error in the report I'm afraid.
Please do what is necessary to repair the damage, fire the reporter if necessary and report the real score because we are taking this very seriously and we are questioning the fairness of this tournament.
We will start an investigation because we are conserned that Andx may have cheated in order to make Udlandover take their loss whereas they were the real looser.
Also we question whether or not their win on this week-end was fair or if they cheated in the same way. Maybe a wise solution would be to replay all the matches involving Andx since the start... :roll:

After investigation, it appears that Psylos has taken this mini-error way too far in order to further their project to become the confederation's next football champion but they have failed miserably. Actually, they should be laughed at by their neightbors for their ridiculous attempt to take down Andx. Their not so bad performance on the week-end has boosted their ego way too much and their performance on Tuesday against a team from the 2nd most powerful at football country on earth may not help. They scored 2 goals and it was the first time ever a Psylos citizen scored a goal against a foreign team.
I'm afraid the football competition may have high jacked Psylos' spirit of cooperation and compassion and they should be mocked rightfully.

then a wild terrorist killed all the world cup players and it the cup was abandoned. unlucky lads.Well I don't think that's a sufficient reason to abandon the world cup since the players can be replaced quite easily (at least the Psylos' ones).

Anyway, We all hope TropM will teach a lesson to the evil suporters of Psylos on friday before they turn into hooligans.

Our team has been practicing fervently for the Friday match with Psylos. We understand that the Psylos team is full of big bruisers, but the superior agility of Team Trop will make it nearly impossible for any Psylos player to make contact, let alone hurt anyone. The complex tribal hand signals used by the team will allow the players to use earplugs, so the rowdiness of the Psylos fans will not distract them. Remember, these players are used to playing to the death, and have no fear on the field. They relish the opportunity to show Psylos how this game is played.

The unfortunate destruction of Ardnaxela leaves a spot open in Group two for someone to move on, as they would have taken second in the group. As it stands right now, Svensson, with three ties, will take the spot over Pyslos, with 1 loss and 2 ties.

Trop M and Svensson advance to quarterfinals

In Group 1, Middleton and Libertans both have 6 points, but HOR, with three points still has to play G Pancakes (0pts) so there is a possibility that HOR could advance. A victory by any score will put them into the quarterfinals over Libertans.

In Group 3, HREmp has 4 points and is finished with their games, however, Svecia (4pts) and Eerak (3pts) still have to play tomorrow. This means that a win by Eerak puts them in first place and will knock Svecia out. A tie will put Svecia and HRE through. A Sveican victory will put Svecia and HRE through also.

For tiebreaking I went to goal differencial, meaning whichever team had more goals for than against won the tie. (ie. in the case of Svecia and HREII, HRE had a +1 differential while Svecia was at +0)

The first round of quarterfinals was played today with Tropical Montana facing off against Libertans, and Lindia playing the Holy Roman Empire.

The Svecian team was the only team in the top 6 that did not make the quarterfinals, however the hometown team from Svensson University did achieve a playoff berth but will have to play the 5th ranked squad from Middleton tomorrow.

Trop M wins 3-1 on penalty kicks

In the most looked forward to matchup of the semifinals, both teams lived up to the expected result, with neither regular time nor overtime bringing out a winner. Both teams' goals came in the first half with Middleton scoring first in the 34th minute, and Tropical Montana answering 5 minutes later. But neither team was able to find the back of the net for the next 80 minutes. Tropical Montana then took made their fist three penalty kicks while Middleton only managed to get their second through, and Tropical Montana will go through to the championship against Lindia Friday.

And the Championship

Both teams played all out with a 1-1 tie after regular time and no goals scored in overtime. But it was Tropical Montana that came out on top after PKs. Both teams were tied again at 2 goals apiece through the end of the mandadory five kicks, but in the sudden death penalty kicks, both Lindia and TM made their first ones, however Lindia missed the next two while TM missed their second but made their third to give them the regional championship.
