The Xanthalian government is consolodating from three branches into a single, Executive branch. To compensate for the lost services of the other branches and improve service in specific areas of society, the government has begun creating ministries to operate and oversee the mechanisms of Xanthal. The ministy list is still under construction, but the list of ministries being created thus far is below.

You already have a Ministry of Truth. Wouldn't that cast suspicion on your Ministry of Public Indoctrination?

Treznor: There's Fact and then there's Opinion. The Ministry of Truth deals with the former, the Ministry of Indoctrination the latter.

What would international trade fall under? Foreign affairs or Economics?

The Resi Corporation: Neither. International trade will be handled by the Ministry of Commerce.

I suggest a Ministry of Agriculture, and possibly one of Interstellar Travel/Transportation. (You are a space nation, are you not?)

This is just my opinion, but I think you've got too many ministries; with that many, you'd get conflicts over jurisdiction, and the red tape would slow everything down.

Perhaps you could merge Equality with Sentient Rights, forming the Ministry of National Equality?

Merge Truth with Indoctrination to form the Ministry of Proper Thought?

Justice appears to be the courts, and Safety the police, so you could merge Safety into Justice, and make the police servants of the courts, or vice versa make the courts part of the police.

Economics could definitely be merged with Commerce; perhaps the Ministry of Trade?

Could Development be merged with Industry to form the Ministry of Industrial Development?

Since Communications, Transport and Utilities are all infrastructure related things, you could make them the Ministry of Infrastructure.

Perhaps you could make a Ministry of Tourism, or add that to Foreign Affairs if tourism isn't common enough to warrant it's own Ministry?

Of course, these are all just my ideas, and you're under no obligation whatsoever to follow them. :)

I suggest the creation of a" ministry of public service"(ministère du service public"

In order to gain maximum efficiency and coordination we urge the Xantallian government to cut down on the proposed number of ministries. We would suggest that the ministries are organised in major clusters around certain aspects of policy. Thusly, the amount of competences (erm... jobs) that are overlapping will decrease along with bureaucratic competition. This will also allow for a more integral policy. If neccecery the different specialisations can be done by state-secretaries. Let me propose a regrouping of the ministries below.

Proposed additions:

Office of the >head of state<
Responsible for integral policy, chairing the council of ministers and some other stately responsibilities depending on what kind of nation you are.

Ministry of Education, Culture and the Sciences
(or Ministry of knowledge if you prefer - it seems pretty important)
Would be responsible for the education system, cultural subsidies etc and coordination and stimulation of scientific development. Coordinating between universities and the private sector (if you have one) that sort of stuff.

Small stuff
-I would add "healthcare", "agriculture", "sports" and "welfare" as a task under domestic affairs if this isn't already covered under "equality" somehow..
-A ministry/state-secretariat of Finance (government finance) under Economic Affairs is quite essential. Someone has to make your nations budget!

EDIT: someone alse proposed something similar I see now. But this still is a bit more comprehensive. :P

Ministry of War, like the Ministry of Defense in that it deals with the Armed Forces, but they concentrate on developing plans and methods for fighting other countries, instead of Homeland Defense.

Isla de Penguinata: I think I'll pass those. I have a ministry of Transportation, and we don't do much agriculture, so that's under the ministry of Environment.

Trixia: The central government is the leadership ministry. And the Ministry of Defense covers offense.

Aust: I'll make that education, but good.

Tsaraine: Noted, but I don't want to merge them for various reasons. Each has a set of specific tasks, and when a task relates to more than one ministry they work together.

Debaermania: No, that's covered by other ministries. I don't want to be redundant.

Knootoss: We cannot merge the functions of such different tasks into larger ministries. Collaboration tools are easily accessable to the ministries, and government cooperation is high in Xanthal. Things will work out.
The Head of State is the Dictator; and that's not a ministry, it's the central government.
Good, I got Education. Culture is irrelevant to us, so no ministry there. Sciences though... Very good. I'll add it.

Manganland: Xanthal has virtually no agriculture except for city beautification purposes. We have replicators make our food.

Mega Tau: Health. Excellent. I got Education, Internal Affairs... Good, but I'll change that to Social Affairs.

Kecha: Okay... I hear you, but the Ministry of Defense covers that too.
