Backed into an OOC corner with IC consequences.
Wow. This sucks. Automobile manufacturing is my nation's biggest business in the description, and is about 70% of my "Powerhouse" economy. Problem? IC RPing cars don't exist in my nation. So now I get to choose:
1: Change my RP story by introducing lots of cars.
2: Ban cars in my issues and totally **** over my economy.
3: Ignore the stupid nation description and just keep doing what I'm doing.
4: Say that we manufacture tons of cars, but export them all.
I choose #4. Any objections, voice them now.
I'd go with three. When I first started NS, and for the first month or so, I had weapons manufacturing, but when I joined the UN (The all fo two days I was there), it took it away and gave me auto manufacturing.

I think it is (edit- your original suggestion, not Imitora's) the only way to proceed without godmodding or stuffing your economy. I wondered if you might ..pretend that "automobile manufacturing" actually reads "rail track laying", heh, but I doubt that there's as much money in it.
Of course IC we should be discouraging you from continuing to export cars at such a rate, being as we sell so few at home (who needs a car when you can see every coast on your home island from one spot?) and make so much of our huge profit margine through their export.
Imitora: I'd generally agree, but there are quite a few people on NS who freak out over violations of your nation description.
Andaman and Nicobar: Thats OOC kind of what I figured... And your IC objection is noted. And ignored.
Just ignore what it says all it matters is you have a good economy. Mine says uranium mining is my countries main industry. Now tell me how the devil am i supposed to support a nation with just uranium mines?
Belem: OOC: I'da know. You could get pretty creative with that one. IC: We still hate you, though we can't remember why.
Imitora: I'd generally agree, but there are quite a few people on NS who freak out over violations of your nation description.
Yeah, I get it sometimes, but I mostly ignore it. The people I rp with dont care about it, in fact, some like it.

Maybe you don't build cars persay... but what about ships or carridges or airplanes or other vehicles? Push it to something similar.
The closest thing to cars we use is hovertrains. Not much room for good old fashioned automobiles in the future.

What about smaller, more personal versions of said hovertrain?
Personal planetary transportation is almost completely banned in Xanthal. Too inefficient.

Go with number Three, that's what I'd do; the nation descriptions can't cover the complexity of most nations. For instance, I keep getting issues to bulldoze the rainforest, when there isn't any rainforest in Tsaraine!
Anyone who wants you to stick strictly to your nation description is being silly.

I think the problem would only be in the possibility of choosing issues that at once keep up the economy and hurt the environment, while claiming to have the good economy, but not the other consiquences, which would be as they bafflingly say "having one's cake and eating it". If you see what I mean? But.. as Xanthal is apparently a future nation anyway, and the issues aren't designed to cope with that, I don't think it matters so much.
In other non-news, BG just went from around 70,000th to 2,000-odd in the world ranking for auto manufacture since last time that was ranked.. I don't know what the hell happened there!
