Movement of Iraqi Army Units

18-10-2003, 04:04
For anyone monitoring Al Anbar, this is what you would find:

Movements of several infantry divisions, a number of mechanized divisions, and some armored divisions to the Damascus area, some hundred kilometers from the Western Asia border.

Increased radio communication between units would also be picked up.

"Ah, here's some nice pictures of a radar station that sits in kill-box 'G19' if there are any problems. The CALCMs can easily take care of this and a new submunition-scattering version can ensure that this entire installation be destroyed. We've also been able to find several enemy vehicles in that scene thanks to our multispectral and hyperspectral imaging cameras. The camoflauge employed was easily identified and the targets marked for strikes.

"Are there any que--"

Reporter: "Why would Al Anbar try to take on Western Asia?"

PR Person: "Haha, well, you know, that's a very good question. By our estimates, any infrastructure that remains from the recent battles with Ell, Roania, and Eye Ran would be wiped out within the first 3 hours of conflict and the forces currently assembled near Damascus are given a battlefield survivability estimate of approximately 46 minutes. We don't really know.

2nd Reporter: "So this is suicide then?"

PR Person: "Yes, it would seem that way. How about some more pictures?"

"Here we have some nice targets for our strikes."

3rd Reporter: "Is there a reason that the picture is marked 'Pre-strike'."

PR Person: "Hmmm, no. You know? I hadn't really noticed that part before. Funny that."

We'd rather you abstained from the assault of civilian targets for now. We have some nice targets that we'd put off for the second half of the battle day and we could transfer those to your crews if you would like.

Oh, and you won't have to worry about any air defenses along our border with Al Anbar...that'll be taken care of before your bombers pass.

The amount of Al Anbar troops stationed around Damascus have levelled off to approximately 75,000 men, around 500 T-72M1 tanks, and about 250 T-80UD tanks. The T-80UD tanks implies that the some/all of the units may be from the Republican Guards, as the Republican Guards are the only one to use T-80UD tanks. T-72M1 tanks imply army units.

The forces appear to be taking up positions just south, southwest, and southeast of Damascus. Several mobile anti-aircraft units have also been brought into the area to defend from an air attack.

"The Station" , Southwest Osaria-Kanze

A group of military generals and advisors can be seen in this meeting room, of a cold, hard nuclear blast bunker.

In the dim light, the officials put out their papers, while the advisors put out their maps, and holds their sticks.

"So, scenario 1, comrade?", an army officer asked.

"Very well," the advisor answered, easily. He pointed at the group of Al Anbar T-80UDs at southwest of Damascus. "Scenario 1 is when the Omzian air units attack the southern positions in conjuction with Omzian armored division. First, BGM-233 Standoff Jamming Crise Missiles accompany the A-14 air units, provide jamming of anti-aircraft units. This can allow the A-14 to release cluster munitions, damaging the air units. After this, the A-14s could simply rearm, and attack the tank units."

"Excellent," the officer said, still confused.

"It is alright, if you feel confused, comrade."

The amount of soldiers around Damascus has started to decrease. Some 50,000 soldiers remain and several hundred T-72M1 tanks. Only ten or twenty T-80UD tanks are still seen.

Transmission to Al Anbar government and world

In accordance with pre-declared practices, an Al Anbar border station that was the source of fire this afternoon <video shown> will be destroyed.

No Western Asian soldiers were injured or killed in the attack, which we can only assume was ordered by Al Anbar's high command, but we will respond as we have threatened.

This is not an escalation but a response to Al Anbar's threats and is in accordance with long-standing IDF procedures.

The only way to avert this is if the Al Anbar government responds with a mea culpa for the incident and apologizes.

You will have to forgive any accidents that our soldiers may make as well then. Our soldiers tend to be quite free-spirited and have open access to many weapons systems. No such accidents would be considered acts of war any more than the assault of your soldiers on our station.

Until then, your soldier(s) owe the IDF $32.40 for repair costs.

We'd advise you to be more strict on your soldiers, instead.

Who says that we have accepted that your soldiers' firing was accidental?

Honestly now, we will take responsibility for the actions that our men take in the defense of our country as much as your government is willing to disavow the actions of your soldiers against our country.

Both your soldiers and your command structure were informed of the consequences beforehand.

Our soldiers are aware of the orders and, seeing as no apologies have been forthcoming from the Al Anbar government, your station may well be destroyed.

There is nothing unfortunate about this. You were warned and your claim that this will be an act of war has no validity as you were made aware that such would be the response to your soldiers' actions and yet you continued to order them to attack our position.

This is a final chance. Your soldiers have already fired upon our position and that is an act of war.

Al Anbar has made the threats and has struck the first blow. We suggest that you advise Al Anbar to avoid making further unwarranted assaults upon our forces.

We are sure that it was an accidental misfire and as such offer the Nation of Western Asia $40 in repair fees on behalf of Al Anbar, which we believe is more than the original demand. In any case, as usual we advise against the use of force, and suggest that warmongers such as Omz222 cease their belligerent actions and attempt to behave like the civilised Nation they pretend to be.
