Premier Xavier Kazzero Dies (cya later guys...)

Zeronia
17-10-2003, 23:05
(OOC: FYI, for those who care: Zeronia is going to be entering a period of isolation now, as I have to dedicate more and more time to my studies. You won't see me around from now until... who knows.)

Anchor, Janine Vuldporz wipes the tears off her face. Today, oh great peoples of Zeronia... I... I can't do this. Janine gets up and leaves. The Minister of Communication, Mr. Uyvan Pralin, makes his way to the desk. He lets out a deep sigh. This day marks the saddest day in Zeronian history. Our beloved Premier, Xavier Kazzero, leader of the free people of Zeronia, succombed to his lung cancer early this morning. The cancer which was thought to have been removed, had spread to his brain... and... in other places... undetected. This is no way related to the rogue attack on the Premier's medical compound months ago.

The Premier was one of the greatest Zeronians who ever lived. Like his father before him, he brought Zeronia onto the world stage. He pushed Zeronia into the 21st century. We do not constantly live in fear of war or plague. We have some of the most diverse communities. We have among the cleanest environments on Earth. Our subsidized health care and educational systems are second to none. We have started exploring the vastness of space with our Octopus program. We have clean and renewable energy sources powering our homes. Crime is not part of our vocabulary. Rebels in our southern neighbour had threatened Zeronian sovereignty. They failed. Terrorists had threatened to cripple and corrupt Zeronian spirit. They failed. This is all due to the diligent work and uncompromising efforts of our Premier to make Zeronia the best place to live. His father brought us out of the darkness, and he brought us into the light.

Xavier Kazzero was loved, not only by his people, but by his family. Although he never married or fathered any children, his legacy will live on through his siblings, Morpheus, Lina, and Damien. Zeronia's future is now in their hands.

Funeral services will take place at the end of the week. All will be televised, but we encourage all citizens and leaders to come and view the procession up close. There will also be repeats of the funeral to be broadcast the following week. Today is a day of mourning, Zeronia. A part of all of us will always be missing.

Farewell, Mr. Premier. Uyvan wipes his eyes and leaves.
