The Lady Sirithil announced today that she would be forming a new Prefecture - equivalent to a ministry - in the Menelmacari government, to be termed the Prefecture of Compassionate Relief, or PCR. The PCR is reportedly to be tasked specifically with providing elvenitarian aid to nations in distress, especially friendly ones, and to respond to disasters within Menelmacar itself.. Until capable of providing its own fleet of gravitic freighters, the PCR would be temporarily authorized to requisition the use of existing, private-sector vessels for elvenitarian use, although the Menelmacari government would compensate at fair market value anyone inconvenienced by these sorts of expropriations. Reportedly there will also be substantial scientific resources allocated to the PCR. The PCR would be headed up, for its first few years of operation, by the recently returned Crown Prince Maglor nos Fëanor.

The Elentári had this to say: "This new Prefecture will make it possible for Menelmacar to do good works all over the world and even among the stars, without using the resources of the military. It's first mission will be to relieve the growing famine in our ally New York and New Jersey, and to liaise with the Prefecture of Science to find a cure for the infection known as 'Megrath's Syndrome' that also currently grips that country. Our people, being naturally immune to disease, are a natural choice for providing aid to NYNJ in this dark time. As for my son, it's possible I won't live forever, as much as I might like to. So I intend to let him try his hand at each of the Imperial Prefectures, that he might be ready in future if called upon to take up the Daggerstar Crown."

Great idea! The Haraki government is behind Menelmacar 100% on this. A government spokesperson this morning was quoted to have said "On behalf of the Haraki government, I would like to congratulate the Menelmacari government, and in particular Lady Sirithil nos Fëanor, for creating this new division of the Menelmacari government."

This is excellent news. With a prefecture totally dedicated to compossionate relief, many people will be helped.

Indeed a generous and most welcome move by the Elentári one we have come to expet from her. We can only say that it is a great idea.

Oh and we will extend the 'adopt a Dogbert doll Campaign' to Tor Yvresse and it's holdings, as well, it seems many of the Citizens on Mars seem to like the look of the dolls themselves.
