ARCTIQUE CITY, IdP-Today the President has issued a statement that long awaited moving of Isla de Penguinata is ready to take place. McDermont said today that we "simply must decide where to move, and when." In an official statement released today, President McDermont spells out what will need to be done in order to make the move of Isla de Penguinata's 702 million people possible.

Today, I, President Jake McDermont of The Republic of Isla de Penguinata, has asked the Penguin Senate to approve the money necessary for the move to a new land. The final destination of our nation will be determined by the people. A vote will be held 19 Oct., 2003 by all citizens of IdP. It is my deepest desire that we shall be happy with our new land. This godforsaken land is that chosen by the former Emperor, Josef Van Guren. We all know that he was an evil man, and deserved the death he was given. Most Senators are interested in a large island, about the size of Mexico, in the south pacific near Antarctica. Some senators have voiced a desire to move to space once again, that way we could have an entire planet to ourselves. I am very opposed to this idea, but I can and will ready the money needed in the event Penguinatans choose to move to space. The planet would be chosen by the Penguin Senate if such an event occurred. Thank you, and goodbye.

Intresting, perhaps I should offer the people of Isle De Penquinata a land that is not god forsaken. But blessed by a coast near the Artic circle and access to a large freshwater lake. We have need of new States within the Federated Klatchian Coast. However, we should note that we are a nation, and any State purchasing into the FKC should be aware of.

The government has done many polls throughout the past few days, and much to the surprise of Jake McDermont, the people wish to move to space.

"I have said repeatedly my objections to moving to space. However, if it is what the people want, then I will willingly do it, and gladly. However, I do not think I am fit to run a space nation, and I will conduct an emergency vote amongst the millions of IdP. If they officially choose to move to space, I will step down as President. It is not an insult to the people, yet a compliment. I personally feel that this nation would collapse under my rule if I were forced to run this nation from space."

The voting machines are already prepared, as all voting machines are required to be open and ready 2 weeks before a voting of any sort. Millions of Penguinatans are flocking to the electronic voting machines. Exit polls show a staunch number of supporters for moving to space.

IdP, we know that your people prefer cold climates and we believe we have just the place, the planet of Tharkad is very cold year around and it snows heavily during the winter months. Also, we have the tech to help build a space fleet and in fact have designs on the board should you require them. Let us know, we'll accomodate you any way we can.
