The Battle for Aiur rages on...

ooc: I'm taking the Starcraft storyline into my own hands, so don't post about how 'this never happened in the game', or 'Tassadar died, you dumbass'. I understand, and frankly don't care.

The battered and bloody zealots returned to the Protoss compound, after wearily hiking through the forest. It took much courage and aggression to beat back the Zerg swarm, but the warriors were able to supress an invasion for at least a few more days. Upon hearing of the arrival of the troupe, Tassadar gave the command for the single squadron of Scout fighters to be sent to the Zerg colony and eliminate any enemy presence in the area.

It had been almost a year since the Zerg took the planet Aiur from the Protoss settlers, yet the proud race fought on. They knew they were up against unbeatable odds, and that it was probably only a matter of time before a full scale attack on the Protoss remnants would take place. Tassadar did not fear the Zerg, though, and neither did his army. The Protoss had been making succesful raids on the Zerg presence in the area, hoping to eliminate the immediate threat. If things continued like this, it wouldn't be too long before the Protoss would become a major presence on their homeworld once again.

The Scout squadron returned to the compound bearing excellent news. The Zerg colony, still recovering from the zealot's counter-attack, were not prepared for an aerial strike. The entire colony was exterminated, leaving behind most of the minerals in the area. Tassadar was more than pleased with this outcome, and promised a grand feast that night.

All in all, a normal day for the Protoss remnants. They continued their struggle for survival, and the Zerg continued to resist. What layed before the Protoss was a long and treacherous conflict with the bug invaders, a conflict that would continue on after the passing of Tassadar, and perhaps even his kin. Yet, they were ready...

OOC: Nice work. I'd join in but I don't have any space stuff.

ooc: Thanks. :) I just hope some people do... also, a small tidbit about the Protoss:

The most ancient and powerful race in the galaxy (or so they believe), the Protoss possess a highly structured society based on the preservation of their way of thinking. Highly intelligent and gifted with great psionic powers, they nevertheless suffer from a certain inflexibility that makes them extremely difficult to work with.

Originally the Protoss were divided into several warring tribes, but they were united by a single Protoss warrior/philosopher, Adun. He is apparently responsible for strengthening the psionic racial link that all Protoss share, and he developed the Khala, a strict religion, philosophy, and social structure. Under the Khala, the Protoss have mostly abandoned their tribal lines and divided into three castes: Khalai, artisans and inventors; Templar, warriors and explorers; and Judicator, administrators and leaders.
