I was considering making an rp nation based on Gilead in a handmaid's tale. is this original?

A nation in the book "a handmaid's tale" by Margaret Atwood. we gotta read it for english. basically a religious fundamentalist state that replaced America after pollution fucked the world up where women dressed in red nunnery robes (handmaids) act as legged wombs. Marthas are the domestic servants, green robes. Commanders wear black uniforms and are the bankers and whathaveyou. they are assigned a handmaid to inpregnate. they also have wives who don't do much. and som guys act as drivers and the like. oh. and dissenters are picked up by the "angels" in a black van with a winged eye on the side, and hung. along with gender crime offenders, (gays) and people of a different religion to the authority. they are left hung by a wall with burlap bag on their head and a sign showing thier crime, a star of david, linked gender signs, a foetus (abortionist) an inverted cross (catholic) or whathaveyou.
infertile handmaids are sent to the "colonies" cleaning up radioactive waste until they die of radiation sickness.
all in all a great place to live. not.
