American Patriots Wanted!

15-10-2003, 01:22
The Region of Rhode Island is in need of nations run by American Patriots and others who respect it. I don't want any communists flaming here, or brainwashed school children saying how evil or stupid patriotism is, because I have a right to love my country as much, if not more, than you have a right to hate it.

Anyone considering a move, please join me in Rhode Island. Any lingering doubt, see our World Factbook entry:

The smallest state in the US, yet hardly that on patriotism. This region is founded as a proud beacon of American Freedom, to combat the dark cloud of socialist oppression and corrupt agendas of the haters of the United States. Anyone who loves America is welcome here!

I would greatly like to see people post in our poll.

I thought you meant the American "Patriot" SAM system.

Haha. American Patriots...

Eh, I'm a "patriot"... I support everything about our country but Bush.
15-10-2003, 01:41
The Patriot act was a very bad idea, yet it is currently being repealed piece by piece by the Congress, and Bush is supporting the process. Just a little note for anyone who thought I meant the Patriot Act.

Patriotism has nothing to do with the Patriot Act.

Yeah, I love this nation, and I would do almost anything to defend it. Yes, I mean I would fight and/or die for it, for all you pinkos out there. And lovely, whoever posted the pocture of Ioseph Ivanovich Stalin. Yes, let's all celebrate a psychopath who murdered tens of millions.

PS: I also love the Patriot Missile launcher.

PPS: The USA PATRIOT Act was a knee jerk reaction passed without reading by congress. It is rightfully being repealed.

Yes, let's celebrate Stalin, the person who turned Russia from a backwards agricultural country into a superpower. Stalin was a great guy.

*sigh*

I hope this is a joke, but regardless I'll post my original thoughts on the subject from an earlier thread.

Time after time, I hear these simple minded sheep rail on and on about how anyone who voices opposition to the war in Iraq (or to the Bush administration in general) "hates America".

So, after 200+ years of democratic progress, this is what we've come to? Is the idea that there can only be one opinion that maintains a stranglehold on what it means to love one's country so imbedded in America's rampant "us vs. them" mentality that nothing other than a slave-like devoted to right-wing principals is "patriotic"?

That honestly has to be the most pathetic thing I've ever heard. Not to mention an argument absolutely ripe with hypocrisy.

It's nothing new, either. Republican administrations since Nixon have made a rather deplorable habit of accusing their critics of "hating America". The habit is also largely practiced by talk radio and a corporate media, and is well-funded by fortifications at the Heritage Foundation. Both major political parties may engage in mud-slinging, but lets face it- the political right has turned it into a national pastime. For the most part, the political left of the country doesn't dignify such idiocy with a response. That cost former Senator Max Cleland (a Vietnam war vet) his election. He was defeated by a draft-dodger who accused him of being unpatriotic.
Go figure.

There seems to be a lot of people on here that are incapable of keeping two independent thoughts in their heads at the same time. That being said, I'll be sure and use small words and I'll try to stick to the point in order not to confuse the more vocally obnoxious among the partisan androids who inhabit this board.

I'm sorry kids. I disapprove of the actions of the Bush administration. I've learned to accept the fact that the Iraq war was sold to the American people based on intelligence and empirical evidence that was shoddy at best (then again, anyone who bothered to do a modicum of independent research on their own already knew that). Get this, though- I do not "hate America". I love this place, and that is exactly why I hate what short-sighted partisan zealots are doing to our country and its international reputation. These ideological lost-causes have managed to stamp out a once-free media and repress a great deal of informed dissent, they are attempting to remove all political opposition in order to establish even less of a representative democracy than we have now, and worst of all, they are slowly chipping away at our Bill of Rights under the guise of "national security".

To make a long story short, America is my home and I love it. That is why I despise those who are trying stamp out the America that they claim to love.

I love this country because of it's founding principal that people are sovereign, and that elected leaders will obey and serve at the people's consent, and that those elected leaders owe the people an open and honest account of their service. For these reasons, informed scrutiny and criticism of said leaders, as well as free and open dissent from their policies, is the true basis of a free society. To attack the criticism of a "leader" and slap an "America-hating" label on it is, to make it perfectly clear, "un-American" in and of itself. Get used to it. If you don't believe me, take it up with the Declaration of Independence.

If you can't tolerate the voice of opposition, then you are obviously living in the wrong country. Maybe you are the one that needs to "love it or leave it". Hell, or maybe you should just stay, because if present trends continue and the truly ignorant factions of this country's political right have there way, all dissent will probably be made illegal eventually.

In order to do my part to stand up for the country that I love, I will continue to dissent and I will continue to protest to ensure those that truly hate this country never succeed in silencing the voice that keeps the true ideals of American alive.

Learn to deal with it.

YOU HAVE BEEN IGNORED!

2) If you are such an idiot to ignore me because I like Stalin, you're the n00b.

Okay, I won't ignore you this time. Instead, I'll counter:

1.)n00b referred to your behavior (he asked for no commie flaming in the thread), not your NS age.

2.)Hitler did the same for Germany. What would you do to a Neo-Nazi posting Hitler pics? (And yes, Stalin did kill more than Hitler, he just killed his own, not other countries' people.)
15-10-2003, 02:18
1. Whatever.

2. Who came out the winner? Stalin not Hitler. And I don't mind someone posting neo-Nazi stuff. Doesn't the US have 'freedom of speech'?

Yes we do. Thats why I will look at nazi stuff, Stalin, whatever. I may think its BS, but thats life.

Yes, but in this thread, the creator SPECIFICALLY ASKED for no "communist flaming". I believe the flag and pics, plus the statement "Long live Communism", is definately flaming. You have freedom of speech, but that is trespassing into this thread. No laws against it, but please, courtesy. Or is that beyond you?

I love this country, I love everything that it's done (with very few exceptions), and I even love Bush. I don't approve of his actions, and I think he's an idiot, but I have nothing him as a person.

Everybody who says that America is a cultural wasteland and has all the maturity of a child with a big stick....well I have to agree with you, but the U.S.A. still rocks!

Small Note: Stalin killed over 20 million of his own people. That's more than all the Jews, Gypsies, Homo-Sexuals, and cripples that Hitler killed in WWII. The total comes to 11 million. That's nine million less than Stalin.

"I don't want any communists flaming here, or brainwashed school children saying how evil or stupid patriotism."

This is like stamping " FLAME ME" on your forehead, you know that right?

"...for all you pinkos out there."

This is too.

I'm not communist, but do I love america? No. Do I hate it? No. I think it's people are generally good, but that its government (ie: for the most part, this means Bush and his warchief) should take their collective heads out of their asses and take a look around.

Again, I'm not communist, I'm socialist, though some might call my ideals communist.

I'd just call them Proudly Canadian, just like me, ^_^
