Bah. NS world wars involve such a tiny percentage of the actual population that they aren't really world wars at all. These days any conflict with more than five people in it that aren't newbies is called a world war.

the melkor world war was a disaster. The threads weren't even worth reading after the first day.
The AMF war will probably just become a ignored war with EOTED. Since someones going to claim something all powerful and the other will say "nah hah" <insert 5 pages of flaming with random people joining in> then ignoring.
But if we do have WW8 the real winners are people who stay neutral like me. As all the powerful people are throwing millions of men at each other I can go in and cap some weak nations I dont like. Then when the world war is over I can pay like 200 billion to the winners and get more land.

If there is a war then I have a sickening feeling that it will be one of the bloodiest in NS history. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least 100,000 deaths from the space battle alone.

To all the BLANLET-IGNORE SPACE/FUTURE/PAST/MAGIC tech people: What I do is, if I'm facing a IGNORE (insert thing here), I just simply WON'T use it, unless if they pull it out. So, I WON'T use a Star Destroyer to pound WWI infantry. Won't use magic to turn tanks into in rock. Etc. You know.

With the size of many of the capital ships up there ... I'd not be surprised to see 10,000 crew die per ship unless people have magic crewmen that can do a hundred jobs at once.

My McKenna battleship's crew is this: 97 officers, 407 crew, 74 gunners, and 180 bay personel. My Thera carrier's crew is this: 240 officers, 1200 enlisted/non-rated (this includes gunners), 100 BA troopers, 224 pilots, and 224 aircraft technicians. I don't expect losses like that per ship, but wouldn't be surprised if that were total losses for both fleets.
