Sally Williams, the personal secretary to Prince Daragon, heir to the throne of Frozen Ice, let out a sigh. She, the royal herald, and several dozen other members of His Highness's court had been up all night and they were still behind in their task, sending official invitations to Daragon's upcoming coronation to the leaders of all the other nations. While the other rulers of Concordia had received their invitations in short order, the thousands of other nations were taking a good deal of time. "Perhaps we should have only invited those nations we have normalized relations with." Sally muttered to herself.
Sir Mirakan, the herald, glanced up, "Because His Highness wants to forge new alliances with many lands, which is why..."
"Which is why what?" Sally asked, peering over with interest. As an elf and a noble, Mirakan was always better informed than she was.
Mirakan paused, considering the woman before saying slowly, "Well, I wasn't supposed to say anything, but His Highness will be choosing a bride at his Coronation Ball. He would prefer a woman of suitable station from outside Frozen Ice, though he will marry a Duchess or Marchioness from his own Kingdom, if need be."
