1)Mega Tau’s Orbital Class T-Rod “Deep Thunder” Weapon Tested.
A new weapon has been developed under a programme codenamed Falcon (Force Application and Launch from Continental Mega Tau).
Over the past 18 years, the MT Air Force (MTAF) and the Bureau of Strategic Development (BSD) has developed a "global reach" weapons system relying on expendable rocket boosters, which make up the Small Launch Vehicle (SLV) “Deliverance”, that can take a warhead into space and drop it over its target.
The warhead is known as a Strategic Aero Vehicle (SAV), code-named “Deep Thunder”. A non-powered bomb, which would be guided on to its target as it plummeted to earth at high and accelerating velocity. It would be going so fast that a small warhead would not matter much since it would hit the target with such force.
We recently tested the T-rod type “Deep Thunder” on a remote desert area in central MT. The target area consisted of deep underground bunkers, surface buildings and an array of sensors spread over the area.
The SAV could carry 400 pounds (180 kilograms) of explosives but at the high accelerating speeds of a plummeting object, the use of explosives were not necessary. Instead we developed and used a simple Titanium rod that was able to penetrate 75 feet (23 metres) of solid rock and comprehensively destroy the underground bunkers. The accompanying shock wave had an enormous destructive force on the area, completely destroying the buildings and flattening everything in a 2-mile (3.2 kilometre) radius.
Deep Thunder’s primary role will be destroying underground enemy installations/targets, surface destruction a secondary role.
Head of the BSD said after the test, “The Republic will be able, using MTAF aircraft based on its own territory, to strike at individual targets without warning and without the need for foreign bases.”
Future development would involve the research of further ideas we have.
Our primary idea is that a Hypersonic Cruise Vehicle would take off from a conventional airfield in the Republic carrying a 12,000-pound (5,500-kilogram) payload.
This payload could be made up from a variety of munitions, including cruise missiles and a new glide bomb dropped from space.
This concept requires more work and funding and is therefore about 4 years off from being completed. The HCV would be modelled on the Small Launch Vehicle, which would blast into space carrying the SAV. The HCV would ultimately replace the SLV as a quicker and more effective vehicle.

2)National Atmospheric and Frequency Defence Array (NAFDA)

Another breakthru by BSD, after 68 years of research and modifications.
Military applications of the NAFDA research include development of Bureau of Defence technology for detecting cruise missiles and communicating with submarines.
Major applications of NAFDA:
>Locating deeply buried weapons factories and bunkers thousands of miles away.
>Destroy ballistic missiles by overheating their electronic guidance systems as they fly through a powerful radio energy field.
>Distinguishing nuclear warheads from decoys by sensing their elemental composition.
>Control ionosphere processes in such a way as to greatly improve the performance of military command, control, and communications systems.
Research applications still in progress:
>Cause confusion of or interference with or even complete disruption of guidance systems employed by even the most sophisticated of airplanes and missiles.
>Facilitate missile or aircraft destruction, deflection, or confusion, by lifting large regions of the atmosphere to an unexpectedly high altitude so that missiles encounter unexpected and unplanned drag forces with resultant destruction or deflection of same.
>Manipulating local weather conditions.
Overview:
A process of injecting high frequency radio energy into the ionosphere to create huge, extremely low frequency (ELF) virtual antennas used for earth penetrating tomography - peering deep beneath the surface of the ground by collecting and analyzing reflected ELF waves beamed down from above. Heating regions of the lower and upper ionosphere to form virtual "lenses" and "mirrors" that can reflect a broad range of radio frequencies far over the horizon to detect stealth cruise missiles and aircraft. (The electron's temperature range between -130° F to 302° F, which extend across four layers from 35 to 500 miles in altitude.
Heating the ionosphere means exciting the electrons. The NAFDA can raise electron temperatures by 40° F.) More than a gigawatt of energy can be beamed to the upper atmosphere. Generating ELF radio waves in the ionosphere to communicate across large distances with deeply submerged submarines. Testing of the system showed 92.7% accuracy in detecting warheads, 88.4% success in destroying ballistic missiles in the atmosphere upper atmosphere.
The arrays consist of 220 towers, 78 feet in height, forming a "high-power, high frequency phased array radio transmitter" capable of beaming in the 2.5-10 megahertz frequency range, at more than 3 gigawatts of power (3 billion watts).
The country’s citizens are unaware of the installations, as it can have some environmental implications, hence the need to locate them in isolated areas. A small group of military personnel oversee the installations.
We have 2 NAFDA installations situated on 30 acre lots in remote areas of the Republic and one in an ally’s country under joint control with us.
