A nice night for a walk in the yard

The clear night was just what the Black Cell operatives didn't want. Rain, snow, anything that would cloud the skies, would be better. They were dressed accordingly to the Larkinian backdrop, black and blue BDUs, standard uniform of the Larkinian Military Police. The Aerodyne, in Larkinian Military colors, slid through the night sky towards the prison. They were armed with Larkinian weapons, dressed as Larkinians, and acted like Larkinians. They were descending through the relativly clear night towards Tertiron Reef Military Prison, in the Fire Sea. They had registered landing codes, transfer codes, and everythign else they needed. They felt the sudden gforce pulling them out of their seats as the hoverdyne slowed.

They exited the aircraft moments after landing. The lead of the group approached the main entrance, showing no fear or concern of the surounding power armor or gaurds. He extended his hand, with a sheaf of papers to the door gaurd. "Lt. Craig Masterson, here for a prisoner transfer." He handed over the approval for the transfer of one of the small petty criminals to a regular maximum security prison. The door gaurd noded, and let 'Masterson' and his transfer team in.

They moved through the coridoors silently, escorted by the assistant warden, towards prisoner #33456567's cell. However, Masterson had other plans. He stood silently next to the assistant warden till he knew he was in the clear. "I know how much you make. It isn't much, especially working in this place. What if I told you I could pay you three times as much as you get here, and regularly, not just once. Yearly, say, 90,000 NuYen?"

The gaurd continued walking, not saying anythgin for a moment. "What do I have to do to get this?"

"Just give us Grant. No big deal. No one needs to know you did it. We switch prisoners, we take Grant, and you stick this," he looked at the sheet about his prisoner transfer, "airplane thief in solitary. Deal?"

"And If I refuse?"

"We kill you, take Grant by force, and keep the money. Simple enough."

The assistant warden continued walking, and then simply nodded. They carefully escorted the prisoner to the solitary area, where they tossed him into Grant's cell. Before Grant could say a word, a Kelvar vest and a heavy sheet had been tossed over his head. They walked him out of the prison. It wasn't till he was onboard the hoverdyne that his hood and vest were removed. Before he could speak, 'Masterson' walked up to him, and placed a strip of duct tape over his mouth. "President Grant, all I am permitted to tell you is that you are now in freindly hands. We are granted the permission to use all means nessacery to reinstate you into power. You will have a good amount of firepower at your disposal, including nuclear, biological, chemical, and orbital weapons. We will also outfit your troops with equipment to deal with any opposition. Do you understand? Nod or shake your head."

Grant nodded yes, and the strip of tape was removed. However, he was told not to speak. Once the hoverdyne had disapeared over international waters, a little touch added on by the Black Cell engineers, a fake radar image showing the hoverdyne on its prescribed course, the aircraft began descending. It landed on the water, however, it didnt sink, as under it, was an old Soviet Alfa class, taht had been outfitted with a New Genoan catapiller drive, propelling the sub silently at a little more than 55 knots. The subamriners were carefull to wear insignialess uniforms, and not to mention their country of origin. "President Grant," a man wearing a black suit asked, appraoching from behind. "How may I help you?"

Grant popped his neck and grinned.

It's about time someone got me out of that damn place.

"Sir," Grant's Texas drawl started, "I'm mighty glad to be out of that hole. Remind me to burn it to the ground after I'm back in power.

"What can you do for me? Well, first off, call this number," he said, scribbling down a number. "Ask for Marc, tell him 'Override Falcon One', he'll know what that means.

"Next, tell me exactly how much I have to work with here..."

The man in the suit nodded, and smiled. "I'll get on this soon. Now, what do you have to work with? Like my assosciates here have said. Just about anythign you want. Our official operating budget for this mission is," he pulled a sticky note out of his pocket, and looked it over before contining; "5.8 million NuYen, or any equivalent in your choice of currency. You name, we'll get it for you." The man in the suit handed an aide the paper, and instructed him to make the call, which he did.

A home in the executive sector of Golden Agate

Jackson Davis stumbled and answered the ringing phone.

"Yeah, what?" he rasped.

"I need to speak to Marc"

Marc? I haven't heard that in a ... oh.. "That's me."

"Override Falcon One." the voice on the end of the line said before hanging up.

Holy sh*t, he did it... he really did it.

Davis picked up his secured line, then dialed another number.

"Will, Marc. 'Override Falcon One', active. 24 hours and counting down," he said clicking the countdown on his watch before hanging up.

- * - * -

"Anything I want..." Grant smirked.

Takeo, your ass is mine.

"First off, what security soldiers that are left will be getting together in a fortified house in the Eastern Ridge in 24 hours. That equipment can be delivered there," he said.

"Next, a nice, tactical assault on the Presidential Palace would be fitting," he thought, "But with the security there, we wouldn't get in."

Rios is probably in charge of security, the bastard. I'll deal with him in due course.

"Some soft targets maybe. How much VX can you get here quickly?"

The man in the suit smiled and nodded. He directed Grant to a table near by. "Please sit. Would you liek anythign to drink?" he asked, sitting across from Grant. He then removed a laptop from a small case, and placed it on the table. He opened it, and plugged it into a 'wall' outlet. He began typing. Within minutes he had his answer. "VX, in a solid form (OOC: Ala 'The Rock'), that can be easily arranged for over 700 missles with approxamatly 100 ounces of VX each. In a liquid form, like a aerosol can or the like, a near unlimited amount."

He continued his search, giving Grant time to think. "For an assault on the Presidential Palace? I believe I can get you some tasty goods for that, power armor, walkers perhaps. Just give us co-ordinates of the house, and we can start sending goods there."

Eight hours later, at the Tertiron Reef Military Prison, Fire Sea

A guard banged on the door designated 33456567.

"Come on, El Presidente," the guard sneered, "Get your ass up!"

The man ran to the door, "Damnit, can't you see I'm not him!"

The guard looked in, "Oh sh*t!" he yelled as he ran to the nearest com unit. "Sound the alarm, we have a prisoner missing.. we have a prisoner missing! Not only a prisoner, but THE prisoner, Grant's missing!"

Klaxon's blared through the base, the inmates knew too well what that meant, someone had tried to escape.

In the control center, assistant warden William Davaus looked at the monitor. In his best attempt at anger he was yelling, "How did this happen? Who in the hell was here last night that contacted Grant? Damnit, he's probably got a run to the shore. Get the patrol boats fired up, you stop anything in Lyone, or approaching Lyone!"

An assault on the Palace, that would be.. very nice.

He wrote down the coordinates for the house in the Ridge. "I don't know how many people will be there, should be the remainder of the security apparatus, and a few generals still in power.

"There will be power armor at the Palace too, well there should be, depending on if Kateo was smart and left the security protocols in place."

"I don't think I'd mind having the VX rockets (Yep, just like 'The Rock') ready, just in case," he added. "I want to avoid bio weapons, because I still want to have some people to rule over. Maybe a small nuclear weapon though... That's how it started last time."

In the First Speakers office, Celeborne.

A young man in a crisp military uniform enters the office.
"First speaker , we have monitored a large amount of activity outside the the Tertiron Reef Military Prison. It seems they are moving quickly in reaction to something."

The First Speakers brows furrow...
"Is this the same place where Grant was kept ?"

"Yes, sir"

"Call over there and see if they require any assistance. and work on eavesdropping on their communications."

"Yes, sir"

"And no matter what they say have the 1st, 4th, and 9th armadas placed in geosync with Larkinia , and tell the Robert Young (ooc:bonus points if you get the referance)to get the marinies ready, we may have to help with a prison riot. I also want the Ohura on active listening, I want to know what is going on over there, all of this with Imitora has me very worried."

Ten minutes later, at the Presidential Palace, Golden Agate

Takeo Katana was pulled out of the morning business meeting by his personal security.

"Sir we have a problem," Chief of State Michael Davis said handing him an updated Threat Report. "Grant's gone missing."

"How does one just... go missing from the Tertiron Reef prison? You guaranteed me it was safe to move him there. I thought the guards there were the best we had?"

"We don't know sir, our analysis team is working on it now. No shots were fired, no report, at morning check, he was gone and someone else was there. We expect him to make a move against the new government..." Davis started.

"I recommend you move to the underground bunkers." General David Rios, head of presidential security said.

Takeo sighed, "I will not run from that tinpot loser," he said walking into the presidential offices. "However, it would be best to put out a message to our allies, to let them know what has happened."

"Ok, so we can keep the VX on hold, no biggy. Now, nukes? What size do you want? I can get you anythgin from a small 15-20 kilo tactical cruise missle, to a full size 600+kiloton explosive weapon. Or maybe a dirty 5kilo suitcase bomb?" The man's hands glid skillfully over the keyboard fo the laptop. "With your input, we can purchase power armor made sepcifically to combat yours. Threat Report: Larkinia
Importance: Critical

During morning check, 0800, one Michael Grant III, current military prisoner awaiting trial for crimes against the people, was reported removed from his cell and replaced. Grant is considered very dangerous. Last reports show a possible Aerodyne leaving the prison, heading to an undisclosed location.

Analysts believe Grant is preparing to return to Larkinia and attempt to overthrow the government. Larkinia is moving security level to black in response.

Re: Grant

We appreciate your involvement and effort. The aerodyne in question was last reported heading to the west, but the signal blanked out shortly after 0550.

Our immediate emphasis is on a possible assault force. Whoever got Grant out of there is presumed to have some kind of an assault waiting. Records of his release are not available, but posisble advanced nations with cloaking technology are posisble.

LSAC units are currently deployed away from the system, but Defiace and Guardian are en route back and should return in the next 24-48 hours.

Embassy work was great. It meant being involved with your government on the most important level. It also meant that if you had the right connections, you were the ultimate spy. Craig Masterson was one of those. Of course, Craig Masterson was a common covername in the IIU, the efforts of the remaining ICI and INSA memebers from the fiasco that took Imitora a touch over a year ago. He thought about his instructions. This would be the ultimate infiltration he thought. The ICI devison of the IIU had managed, on the election day of the new Larkinian President, to place a bug in his office. However, it would never be picked up by scanners or receivers, as all it did was refract light. A small crytaline statue that had been set on the window sill refracted the amount of light in th room as they vibrated with the voices of peaople speaking in the room. A laser read teh position and movement of the crystals, and translated the gathered information into a 97% correct text file. One of the last transmissions they got before the President had been moved was a communication from Celeborne. For informational purposes, a Northampton class frigate, the Synergy, which had been in a general earth orbit since the attack on Deazeman picked up the Celebornian movements. An obvious landing force. The best way to defract a landing force was to have the troops that it was supposed to suport attack it. 'Craig's' job was to find a way to mess up comunications so that Larkinian troops would open fire on Celebornian troops, thinking they were part of an invasion force.

They wouldn't be able to trace him to his home country. He had perfect records birth, military, employment, anythign you could think of, with the Agrigentonian government. He was even Itallian in descent. He pulled on his suit coat, and under a new fake name, left the embassy complex.

(OOC to Imitora : You don't need the crystals to do that, all you need is a laser pointed at the window to ready the movements of the window it'self. You do have to have a way to disquise it after dark, or you are busted.

NOTHING is impossible. just improbable.

Peace on earth. There are things that are impossible because they defy all given laws of nature.

Peace on earth is possible, but it's only improbbable.

The only reason we hate each other is because we are stupid enough to elect morons to lead the country.

There WAS peace on Earth-then man came.

OOC: How do you scan for DNA code, as you need to have the subject on hand to match DNA samples? (Meaning, you could have all the DNA of me you wanted, but if you dont have me to test it against, then it doesnt mean anything).

ok-listen:

I need a sample of the DNA-that is fed to the scanning system.

It will then detect that signiture on Earth.

I do not need to match it-it will LOCATE the source of the DAN on Earth-but it does need to SCAN the entire planet-and he can avoid capture with rapid movement.

On mine, I quadrupled refire time, and even then it only took 10 minutes between each shot, but I did the math, and figured that it would cost so much just to fire once, that even if I had a 10 billion person population, it would suck my militayr budget dry to fire more than, say, 5 times in one year.

1. The new presidential palace offices don't have windows, after the little battle to break out, it's now located under the Palace itself. There is a outside view available to the President, but it's only through monitors, a la Resident Evil.

2. Sorry Im, no way anyone outside of a very tight-knit group has access to the offices during the inauguration, especially after what happened in the election.

3. The ANH Messages were typed, not spoken.

Prime Minister's Office ; #2 Jameston Place
Ianapalis, Iansisle, the Commonwealth

A cry of "Mr. Prime Minister! Sir!" broke through Hiresh Dhawan's concentration. He sighed, and looked up as the Lord MacIntyre came bursting into his office. He really would have to look into shaking up the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; it seemed to find a new way to annoy him every day. The short little Shieldian slammed a paper down on Dhawan's desk. "Sir, you need to read this *puff puff*. It's from Larkinia...*puff* very important!"

With a look of disgust, Dhawan picked up the note and scanned over it. The first thing he noticed was that it was dated several days ago. That's when he set it back down, and glared up at MacIntyre. "This didn't seem to be all that urgent when we first received it. If it's been kicking around the MoFA for so long, why should I drop everything I'm doing to read it?"

MacIntyre didn't have a ready answer to that one. He felt a little helpless without Edwards here to back him up, and spent a good amount of time glancing about the Spartanly decorated office, perhaps looking for something or someone to pull him out of the fire. "Ah, Mr. Prime Minister, there was a bit of a clerical error...it was filed under low priority inter-ANH communications by mistake..."

That didn't convince Dhawan, but he sighed heavily and read through Katana's message quickly. It was important, indeed, even if Iansisle was blindly unaware of the massive military movements high above them. Instead, he dismissed the Lord MacIntyre - who he was becoming convinced had it in for him - and set to drafting a reply:

To: President Katana

Dear Mr. President,

Due to an apparent clerical error within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I was unable to receive this telegram until just now. Naturally, the defense of democratic government within a fellow New Highlands state is of the upmost importance to my government.

John Cohen, the younger, yet more 'prestigous', and by prestigous, it is meant succesful, sat behind a desk, reading one of the world events papers that now circled the globe, and kicked his legs up on a small stoll beside his chair. His partner, Paul Ayer, sat in a similarly large, well decorated office across the hall. He looked over his case reports for the day, nothing major. He placed the stack of papers down, and walked over to John's office.

"So, when does recruiting start?" he asked, refering to the bringing in of new associates and lawyers.

"Eh, soon enough, once we actually have a job," he joked. "Anythign big?"

"Nope, just a few cheap prosecutions, a few GTAs, one lewd conduct. You?"

Do you fear the common man for holding seperate ideas from the government? Do you see me as a threat to the 'peace' in your country? Grant sipped another scotch as he worked out his plans.

"If we fired the cruise missiles at Lyone, we could cripple much of their naval power quickly. Getting the missiles to reach Space City would be another idea, since the LSAC is centered there, but the last I remember, their defenses were vastly improved. The suitcases would be another idea, slip those in through their security into the corp. sectors, cripple their businesses. We have to make it look internal though, except for the help of Resi's robots."

OOC: God it must suck working for the CIA. Thats why I was saying have it be some stupid mistake, like forgetting to take my name off the 'ANH Message' list. So anyways, you probably know some ultra top secrets, so can you do me a favor and go black mail some people so I can download music? Maybe find out that overated fat bastard Lars Ulrich is a spy or somethign, and his punishment is to donate all of Craptallica's money to pro-free music things...

OOC: Let me go make a few changes to Lar's file......LOL. I am serious it would be easier to tap the white house red phone than to get on a secured diplomatic line. And there nit generally a send to all option. There would be a way to get this info , but I am not going to tell you :). I am so glad we finnally have a good cloak and dagger game going. I could, just like I said, pull it up from Iansisle (tap the line like the US did the Soviets). And dont worry Lark, I'm not very knowledgable on some of this technostuff, but man, when it comes time for the LiveWire Tactical assaults, door kicking, tank movements in the country side, and the like, man, I got you all whuped there. "So your saying that Grant, with his, I dunno, maybe 50 or so supporters, if he did escape is more than our military can handle? And if not, and it is a joint exercise, your saying that we are to stupid to figure out new and better tactics on our own? Or do we need other nations to baby us along?" he countered, in a calm tone.

OOC: Heh heh, I'm workin' on it. It's interesting playing a despot trying to get back into power.

IC: "No I am not saying that. Of course it is better to bounce ideas off of other people. You're arguing somantics now, saying that only stupidity comes if we don't close our minds to other ideas. (OOC: The Buddha says...;) ) Only through an open mind do we know how much there is to learn, and create from.

The Celeborne troops had landed. It was nice to be back in Larkinia, and this time there was no shooting...Yet. The troops split off into 20 man counter assualt teams and began working out shift schedules and communication coordination with Larkinia.

The newly promoted Lt. Rameriz hit his comm..
"Lt. Rameriz requesting a comm link to Rios of the Larkinian government. Send following message: Good to work with you again sir, we are at your command.: end message."
Rameriz was one of the survivers of the last Larkinian mission so he knew what Grant was capable of.

"Come on in," one voice said as the door opened.

"Yep it is, not that you'd know anything about that," Rios said lighting his cigar and punching out the following message.

"How are we not subordinate? We are getting help from Celeborne to help us get better, and even then, do you think they'll teach us everything they know? I doubt it. Do you think they'll give us all the knowldege of their technology? Not bloddy likely. All they are doing is humoring us, making us think we are learning from them and becoming strong. So while we sit here, happy as clams, thinking that we are gaining all this great knowledge and technology, when all we really get is the left overs, or things that never really made it. We hope for all this help from Celeborne. Now, tell me, how is that not showing inferiority vers superiority?"
Larkinia
15-10-2003, 07:54
"Yes we are getting help from Celeborne, and it's safe to bet that they are not teaching us everything they know. But it's not like they are the only place we get our ideas and knowledge from. And of course they are not going to give us access to all of their technology. It wouldn't be safe for them to. That also doesn't keep us from developing our own technologies and ideas. Nothing that they do has kept us from advancing on our own.

"If they wanted to exert their influence from a base of superiority, then they would subtly keep us from making the developments we have already made. They have not. "

Tim walked into the Pyramid Hotel, carrying his briefcase and his suitcase.

"Can I get those for you sir?" a concierge asked.

"No thank you," he declined as he walked to the front desk. "Yes, I have reservations. Name's Tim Black," he contined as he handed the man across the way a forged Resi Corp. passport for identification.

"Yes sir Mr. Black. You requested a first floor room. We have suite 184 waiting for you." the woman at the desk said, handing him a keycard.

"Thank you," he said, giving her and the concierge each a 100 NY tip.

He walked to his room, just down the hall from the desk. Opening the door, he saw a plush living room, with a couch, desk (complete with stylish new computer), dining table and a door leading to a blue tinted bedroom with a large queen-sized bed, dresser, and small jacuzzi.

"This is perfect," Tim said.

He opened the silver ballistic nylon suitcase in the bedroom. In the case, instead of clothing, was a large mechanical device.

He input a code and a dim buzz was heard for a few moments from the device as it whirred on. Tim closed the suitcase, walked out, closing the door to the bedroom, and set the suitcase under the desk, against the inner side of the desk next to the computer, out of view and using the CPU to mask it's signature.

He checked the briefcase, the remote was still there.

He dropped his grey pinstripe suit jacket on the bed and removed the disguise makeup, getting rid of the facial hair. He picked up the briefcase again and walked out of the room.

"Yes, they aren't bad wages for government slave wages though. I don't think the military will be cutting jobs anytime soon. As any Larkinian knows, military service is mandatory for four years, and it will take an act of 9/10ths of Parliament and an agreement of the President to remove that. While there are some in the Parliament who would like to remove it, they're in a 1/10th minority. If Celeborne decided to take over our military, then there would be a lot of guys sitting around the barracks pulling a paycheck."

Or they could do it in one quick strike, wipe out everythgin in one move, and just take over. God knows they could, and we woulnd't have the technology to stop them."

General Rios' driver walked out to Rios' car, slipping inside and pulling the key out to start the car.

Rios followed the man, but was stopped by an aide handing him the latest threat report. "Sir, this is the latest on the Grant Investigation."

"I'll read it in the car."

The driver put the key in the ignition, turned it. The engine chugged to life as Rios approached, then suddenly...

BOOM!!

The car ignited in a fireball, shooting up in the air 20 meters. Chunks of the car flew in all directions, Rios felt the shrapnel drive into his chest and legs as he flew back into the wall of the Palace....

The explosion killed five men, injured 23 others and left a crater near the palace.

"Sam Spade?" That's a stupid pseudonyme he thought, but motioned at Jean. "I take it you'll be waiting for me in Golden Agate?" he pressed. "Say, friend, that reminds me: I haven't got your name yet." He used the break to signal Jean to start packing his bags.

"Yeah, Sam, almost," was the return call. She sounded slightly irritated. "I can't find your bloody toothbrush, though."

"That's ok, doll," he called back, "I can pick one up in Larkinia." He continued to sit, before picking up the phone and calling his local U.B.C. branch. "Hello, I have a question about my account...the name's Dagger..."

Dagger was staggered by the amount - and the fee - but bit down on his tongue and hid it well. "Thank you, ma'am," he said, wondering about a female banker. That was something of a novelty in the Commonwealth. "I was expecting that. Good day." Dagger hung up again, a large grin breaking across his normally stoic features.

Jean appeared with his bag. "Here you are."

"Great," nodded Sam, grabbing it and making for the door. Jean followed him. "I should be able to make the flight with plenty of time to spare."

"We, Sam," corrected Jean, hefting her own bag. He paused with one hand on the doorknob.

"I, Jean. This job is dangerous. I'm going alone." He frowned at her. "I'd never forgive myself if I let something happen to you."

"Harbor City is a dangerous place," she countered. "Besides, I'd never forgive myself if something happened to you."

Sam sighed. As ususal, there was no arguing with her.

Imitora Embassy, Larkinia

The embassy hadn't tottal cleared out, and was running on a skeleton crew to tie up any loose ends. However, the bomb blast had scared the few personel remaining, and a call went out for a bit of assistance. Within two hours, a pelican dropship had been launched, and in route to Larkinia, towards the Imitoran Embassy. The admirality has sent out a curt, cordial message alerting the Larkinians to the approaching ship, and then went back about its usuall buisness.

The dropship landed in the street in front of the embassy. The rear door descended open, and 12 men, all graduates of the HERCULES program, stepped off, the dark green MJLONIR BaseMod. I armor reflecting the sun. They took up defensive positions around the embassy. Three more men stepped off, not wearing any military outfit whatsoever. All three were dressed relativly similar, varying TShrits, green or kahki cargo pants, kahki photographer style vests, and varying style of Oakley sunglasses. Each also had a M5AB slung across their chests, and a M6D strapped to their thigh. Footware differed from Veitnam Jungle Boots to 'Flip-Flops'. "Well," the obvious leader spoke, "lets go find our shooting point." The men began walking, rather nonchaulauntly towards teh blast sight.

A group of officers approached the blast site and were waved in by Celeborne soldiers. The team approached the crater quickly and opened their equipment bags.

And theres some guy that came to tal to us tongiht about the Kenedy assasination, you might want to keep an eye out for him, I think he's on to somehtign. Although he tried to convince us that Walter Cronkite and hat other guy (cant think of his name) are in on the cover up.

IC:

The beanbags hurt, but 'Tony' could deal with it. He had been hit with worse, like actual bullets, and the marbells from high powered 'paint' guns in training. Same with the sonic disrupter. Imitora, for a while, had been a lead in 'less than lethal' weaponry to deal with riots, until the police learned it was more effective to use live ammo. Protestors for some reason seemed to stop protesting when their leaders face disappeared in a spray of blood, brain, and bone matter.

However, back when less than lethal technologies were the bad ass way to go, one concern was that the LTL weapons would be used against the users. Intensive training was undertaken to stregthen Riot Officers and Military personel to deal with things such as 'sonic disrupters', bean bag weapons, mace, sleeping gas, tear gas, and the like. The soldiers never got used to it, and never liked it, but learend to deal with it. 'Tony' shrugged off the sleeping gas. It was an intresting expirence, getting use to dealing with gasses, and it was a fun expierence the first few time around. While the police had stopped the training a while back, the military kept it up, especially in the Special Operations Programs. One of the men was hit by the net gun, and struggled a bit, but 'Tony' waved him off, telling him not to worry about it.

Rony raised his M5AB, and tapped the small exposed barrel against the seargents stripes on his armor. "See that, maybe once you get some officer's bars in there, we'll talk. Untill then, hows about no. If we wanted you all dead, then you would all be dead all ready. It wouldn't take much. Now son, if you'll excuse me, I got buisness to attend to." He walked past the seargent towards the mobile command center.

OOC: Damn Imitora, someday my stuff will work on you.....By the way that sleeping gas was created by one of the top chemical manufactures in the world...Us...But any way. And yes less than leathal is always the first option when operating in a foreign country. I can tell you have no real experience with LTL equipment, that bean bag from that distance would have knocked down the Hulk, and a net from that range should have put to of them down with a bad case of the tangles and your troops could not have trained against sonic disrupters, Western asia and I are the only ones that have them...Oh well.

And Walter Cronkite was the second shooter.....

The sgt did not even respond he had his orders and he knew full well that the little pea-shooter would not do more than dent his armor. He had followed protical and attempted level one LTL, now he had to take it up a notch.
The sgt extended a small baton from his arm as the man was talking to him and activated the shockwave. Simutaniously hitting him with a right hook from his other hand.Power muscles lending speed and strength to the punch.
The other four men make a human and metal barrier to block the way of the other 2 and 10 more suits start bounding in.
Larkinian security has been notified.

I think this may be a good time to give some information on the Celeborne Armada Marines that are wandering around.

There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 of these guys total. They are the Elite of the Elite. Less than 1% of the total military meet the phsyical, mental and experience qualifications to become a member of the C.A.M. All of these troops have served in international conflicts, and have a minimum of 5 years of special training. Most of these guys don't even see thier power armor suits for the first time until they have served at least one full term (6 years) and have reupped. This puts the average age of the C.A.M. at 29, these are not wet behind the ears newbies, and that is the reason that we use them in tense situations on foreign soil. The equipment that they use are various forms of power armor .
There are 10 dropships that move these troopers around the starsystem and deploy them to various hotspots. The Robert Young is the home ship of the 1,000 troops on Larkinian soil at the moment.
These troops have been deployed in many NS conflicts (real experience) and are not push overs.
I based these troops loosely on the book (not the crap fest movie) Starship Troopers. If you havent read it, go buy it now.

The unmarked transport crafts slid through the inky black night sky. Between the five aircraft were 500 of the newest version of the Resi Combat robots, and five of the FARQ walkers. In the cockpit of each FARQ was a little yellow sticky note for the person choosen to pilot. "If all else fails, self destruct, gigantic plasma explosion," it read. They flew towards a spot designated by the Larkinia rebels to land and drop off the equipment. The squad working in the mobile lab turned in annoyance at the sounds of combat beginning in the near distance. Two of the soldiers winked at each other knowingly.

"Looks to be an advanced and extremely high-potency explosive, makes C4 look like play-doh..."

Underground Bunker
White Peaks Military Base, somewhere in Larkinia

Dr. David Tarn looked through the plexiglass at the underground range spreading out before him.

"Let me get this right," Major General Will Marcus said, "You've finished the research and have how many units ready?"

"Enough," the snowy-haired scientist smiled through oval glasses.

"Why didn't you mention anything about this before," the officer asked.

"Presidential Order 42A-296," Tarn said. "This was President's Eyes Only. And now it's not."

The corporal in the armor gently landed in the underground cave. His eyes were not visible under the grinning skull-shaped black helmet, the small engines on his back glowed menacingly. Two heavy-armor robots were sitting at the opposite end of the cave. He turned a larger rifle to the two robots, a white burst exploded from the rifle slamming into one of the robots, twisting it into a pile of melted armor and circuits, while he turned and unloaded a burst of slugs into the other robot.

"Thanks to our original research with Celeborne, Resi Corp and information when we worked with Imitora on the SDF projects," Tarn started, "We've made very quick progress with these. We've enhanced the 'Silent Night' engines, tripled the density of the armor, anything short of a small rocket and they'll keep ticking, not well, but they'll keep going. The engines will double as jump jets if needed, and can power the external skeleton, if needed.

"And we've upgraded the firepower. Two forearm blast cannons in the left forearm for short-range combat, three mini-rockets in the right. Mobility to allow for use of regular assault rifles. And then this," he pointed to a larger over-under rifle on the table. "With condensed coils, and an energy current running directly from the engines, the top barrel is plasma energy, underneath is a regular .50 cal. slugthrower, in case that doesn't work. The bullets alternate between explosive and armor-piercing rounds."

"But these are only 'bots, people are totally different," a colonel piped up.

"Yeah," Tarn grinned, "they're softer inside..."

"And it's all in one unit," Marcus said skeptically.

"Yes sir, we took advantage of micronization research from Inoki Manufacturing," Tarn continued. "They can't run forever, but the energy cells can run quite a while. We've been cranking them out as fast as we can for quite a while. Inoki didn't mind using their secondary plant for their regular work and giving us access to their primary plants after the price we paid for these. And even better, the armor advancements will work with all our troops."

"How many do we have, and how soon can we access them?"

Eversman nodded slightly as the Celebornians shrugged off the attacks, and disappeard. One returned to his car, and pulled something out of a glovebox. He then slid into the driver's seat, and began to drive off.

I need to know where Larkinian troops are, general armorment, etc. So far, by your explanations, security is very light visablly, kinda like an airport. Guys every here and there with Rifles, but thats about it. I also see it as a ton of troops AT the Palace, but thats about it.

IC:

Cohen pulled out a sheet of paper. "See, now, here, it dont say that. All it says is I have permision to land my troops at our embassy. When we landed, you never issued any orders we were confined to the embassy. Now, if you want, you can go into that fancy building, and get your president out here, and have him tell me and my men to leave. Otherwise, piss off, and let me do my personel prosecution."

The Warthog rounded the corner, and the Gunny and Matthews hopped out, holding their M5ABs in a defensive posture. Gibbson slowly moved the M41 across the general sight level equivalent to the Celebornian soldier's chests. Tierney moved to one of the front seats, leveling his weapon, a M5AA rifle, at one of the Stinger set ups.

These are troops in full tactical assault armor, including AK-47, with 50 cal. MG and rocket launchers in support.

"Right, liek I thought." He went back to working on the car.

Cohen ignored teh weapons, and kept walking toward teh blast.

The Marines at the 'Hog stayed in a defensive pose, the onboard vehicle cammer that had been activated by Gibbson picking it all up.

However, the one thign that would most likely have gotten thier attention was the sound of an explosion. And not just a standard explosion. It was actually two blasts so close together, one would only hear a single 'boom' The first explosion was that from a cheaply made grenade that the man at the car had affixed to the engine. Its purpose wasnt to take anyone out, but to ignite the light plasma explosive, really a medium sized plasma battery designed to to self destruct once damaged.

1. How did the backup team get there, unless they wanted to fight their way in. Right now there are about 25 rockets launchers aimed at Gibbson's head then...

2. Cohen hasn't dealt with Staves, and he's looking at a stun baton to the kidneys right now unless he responds to the man standing in front of him.

He shouted somethign only the Marines would hear, and although only the Gunny's battlefield recorder was running, all the Marines confirmed it was somethig along the lines of 'what the f*ck'. Gunny ordered the men to drop back, and Tierney swung back into his seat as Gibbson covered the Gunny and Mathews. "Thats our sign to let the Celebornians deal with it." The Warthog shot backwards for fifteen feet before the Gunny swung the wheel, and rotated the jeep like vehicle, heading back towards the embassy.
___

Cohen dropped, as did his three men, and pivoted towards teh direction the explosion came from. "Whiskey one whiskey one fossil is clear, I dont like that shit, sounds like pre plasmatic. You out?" The Gunny, who was Whiskey one, barked back his reply, telling Cohen his Marines were on the Pelican, and that due to the embassy staff, they were gonna need to leave the 'Hog behind.

I had also taken the other response about the guys at the embassy. As far as the reply for the hog, I was working on one when we had another rush about the world series at work. The idea was that there was no way security would allow another nation to move troops around outside their embassy, especially given what happened.

At the embassy, the last of the personel had loaded up onto the waiting Pelican, and so add the rest of the Marines. The Gunny ordered Gibbson, Tierney, and Mathews onto the dropship as he preped the Warthog. He placed a plasma grenade underneath the vehicle, and then flipped a small switch on a circut breaker outside the Imitora embassy. OOC: Am I the only one in this world who thinks power suits are stupid?

Yep. Looks like you like them to me :)

The suit is impervious to 5.56mm fire at all ranges, and 7.62mm fire at anything over 70 yards. Suit contains standard re-breathers for NBC environments, climate control, and a multi view facemask that allows the wearer to utilize night vision, FLIR style viewing, and heat registered viewing. The suit also utilizes micro fiber electron muscling system that allows a single user to flip over anything under 15 tons, and two or three for everything over. Suits also provide vital stats of the wearer to his home ship.

The MJOLNIR Base Mod II, which is utilized by all those who complete the SPARTAN II program, (which is a continuation of the earlier basic training, and consumes another three years of a Marine's term), is a permanently worn version of the armor. It contains a gel crystalline layer that increases (or decreases, depending on how you define response time) response time by up to a full second. It is also capable of supporting star ship grade AI. A slightly stronger armor is used, and those wearing the MJOLNIR BaseMod II armor (which is required for all Platoon leaders) is resistant to the 7.62m round out to 50 yards. New micro fiber muscles allow the wearer to manipulate things up to 100 plus tons (metric). The only noticeable difference between the BaseMod I and BaseMod II visibly is the presence of rank bars on the BaseMod I, and the BaseMod II is a slightly darker green.

The SPARTAN III program is currently in debate in the senate, and if passed will allow for the creation of 'super soldiers', where people genetically modified from birth to act as the next step of warrior. Of course, the SPARTAN III program graduates will be randomly selected (every 400 births from all private hospitals, every 100 from the public hospitals), and will wear the new MJOLNIR BaseMod III armor, which will be resistant to 7.62mm rounds at out from 20 yards. It will also feature the use of GhostSkin, a heavily modified version of SmartSkin. It also features a new Gel Crystalline layer which can support more powerful AI systems, and a direct ship to suit communication system.

All MJOLNIR suits are designed with a refractive coating to disperse energy weapons. All are also equipped with a form of communication equipment, getting better as the BaseMod level progresses. All suits also have a GPS tracking system mounted to allow each Marine to see where other Marines are and have reduced blue on blue to a near non-existent level. All suits have a Comfort Climate Control (CCC) system, internal drinking water reservoir, and other amenities to keep Marines battle ready. Standard load outs consist of the main weapon, side arm, four magazines for each, three of each available grenade, medikit, two days worth of MREs, and an emergency radio.

No, they arent power suits, its an actual armor systems, kinda like what the US militayr is expierimenting with IRL. In Halo, they just upgunned the technology. Powersuits =built in jump jets, rocket launchers, impervious to plus .50, etc.

Anything that allows you to carry a .50 AR (Unless its one of those M4 Conversion kits which is a .50AE as opposed to a .50BMG) and fire it remotly acuratly is power armor. And the picture has a picture of a damn rocket launcher on the shoulder. That is power armor. And kill the lawyer damnit.

It is only accurate if it is not on full auto, on full auto it is used for supresive fire and against vehicles. It also has three different types of barrel rise reducers. Forget the picture, but it does have built in grenade launchers.

As to the Lawyer : NO. Did he take the hit ?

...When the grenade went off. The HEDP grenade explosion, rigged to go off when pressure was released on the pin, ripped opwn a good chunk of Cohen's stomach. It also turned his heart and left lung into confeti.

Elizabeth looked over the return reports, which noted three Marines had died durring the action in Larkinia. She looked down the list, making a mental note to write the appologetic letters, when one name stood out. She picked up her desk phone, and dialed a number she dialed all to often. It rang before a voice on the other end answerd.

"Cohen speaking, how can I help ya?"

"Hi hun, its me," Elizabeth replied. "Your still in Farina, doing the whole diplomatic relations thing, right?"

"Yeah, I am. Does my little hunny bunny miss me?" The convorsation continued on in a simialr fassion, and after wards, she hung up the phone, and called in one of her aides.

"I'm gonna need to talk to the NSD, find out why my current love intrest is listed MIA in combat in Larkinia. And why I ordered only a squad for embassy protection, and all 12 of the squad returned, but three people are dead."
