Many times I have been called this in the NS IRC chat. And I think it's true, I'm an outcast. I remember when we didn't have mods, no NS N00bie guides, or 'Veiw these great threads!' or 'All about NS War' and those sorts of things. For awhile we didn't even have Kits's Godmodding thing. No one told me who the 'good' roleplayers were. I just went with the flow, and fell in with the 'bad' roleplayers. So what if it rubbed off on me, it doesn't mean people need to ignore me, and tell other players not to roleplay with me. There are alternatives, like discussing problems with people's posts in OOC threads, in TG's, AIM, or IRC. And why do we need moderators to solve something for normal players that we can solve for ourselves? Such as, 'bad' roleplaying.

Now really, there is no such thing as 'bad' roleplaying, it's just people comminucate differently. Some like to use visual aids, some people like to put a lot of context in their posts, others stick to simplicity. As long as you understand the point they are trying to get accross to you, it doesn't matter. Sure boundries such as timeperiods and techlevels may be needed, but it limits Free Form Roleplay, and that's what this and the II forum are based on, Free Form Roleplay. No matter how insane someone's idea is, it can be accepted. If you have an objection, state it, work the problem out, and make the roleplay here 'better' overall. Con't ignore them because 'they are a moron'. They're 'morons' with 99.9^999% the same DNA as you. Humans are prone to mistakes, get over it. You can't get your own way, get over it.

Take a break for a little while from NS. I dunno. Work out a few things and perhaps reflect on your actions. Be objective. Once you are sure and more confident then come back and let those who can't let go roll off your back like water off a duck.

Then you should take it up with them and point out how this game is serious and to take their jokes somewhere else.

I had some RP's I wanted to redo on my own anyways. I'll probably be on the forum, yet posting OOCly. Maybe some advice here and there, perhaps even a little bit of roleplay with a few people.

Just do what I do ADK, go with the flow until you can't take it anymore, then hit the E-brake and write a long dissertation on how much everyone sucks. Blow off some steam and come back. Better yet.....realize that the world is full of assholes like me and learn to deal with it {I'm not really an asshole am I? :wink: }.

I understand why you've been driven to this ADK. I really don't know why AMF has been refusing to even talk rationally with you and I do see it as very heavy handed to get a mod to restrict you from the thread. But it happened.

In the end you, like Xanthal, were asked to 'take one for the team' and step out of the war to avoid OOC complexity. Well, Xanthal was asked... it looked more like you were told. That leaves two major players who wouldn't not get involved feeling left out.

My advice is for ADK to get together with Xanthal and set up a seperate thread and RP using blockades, sabotage, raids and interesting stuff like that to explain why the two of you never reached the AMF theatre. A small scale skirmish war... the aim being to defeat the other's capacity to intervene in the AMF situation and its aftermath, rather than a 'total war' invasion style effort that seems to be the norm around here.

This will give both of you a chance to explain IC why you haven't helped your staunch allies and also to prove OOC that the other side was wrong by asking you to step out of the conflict.
It could also give a focus for those others who want to avoid the (bitch-o-rama that the) main thread (is going to be) a chance to get involved in the conflict. And keeping it to raids and low-key actions will encourage smaller players to participate where they would be swallowed whole in the main battle.

Consider it... and if people start griefing you then the mods will be on your side this time ;)

In Karma's defense, he has a point. If people ask you to leave first, and you continue on despite their protests, who's the bullheaded one? Especially when it becomes "I am going to continue posting here just to spite you."

Our job is to work against stuff like that... I mean, c'mon, what does stubborness win anyone here? You being stubborn just makes other people get stubborn. Ever notice how if one pushes on these forums, they always get pushed back against? Because you force yourself on others when they ask you to leave, they go on the defensive. The more one forces, the more resistance one gets.

Maybe if you actually accepted them once in a while and backed off, things would turn better. You may be an outcast now due to your incessant forcing of issues, but given time, people will realize that you're willing to listen and therefore work with them, and your outcast status (either real or supposed) will fade away.
