Lady Lara Tian stepped to the podium outside the palace. She looked almost 10 years older than she had just a few days before.

She speaks with confidence, but seems tired. "Greetings fellow Imperial citizens. As you all know, my brother was killed four days ago by a sniper. Yesterday that sniper was killed in a raid against his apartment in which he killed a total of six marines."

Lara pauses and looks down for a moment. "I have taken over the role of leader, as heirs have for countless centuries in countless places." She swallows hard. "I am confident I can continue my brothers works and continue to lead Crimmond as he would have it led. I will not let you down."

She stands and looks over the crowd and bows to them, a traditional act, showing that the new ruler respected the populace as equals.

The new Empress stands up straight and the crowds below start cheering. She smiles faintly and she walks back inside.

OK.... So....What does this all mean?

It means my old leader is dead. The new leader is evaluating all she has to do and is making decisions based on what is best for the nation.

IC: Ambassador Krall'c looks at the Shentavo's request for a meeting and scowls. The military would not be happy if Lara left the nation so soon after her brothers death.

He summons an aide. "Tell them that Lady Tian is not leaving the nation anytime soon. They will have to come to us, for security reasons." The aide nods and slips out the door as the reptilian ambassador goes back to reviewing a report about an attempted embassy bombing.

I can't go...I must continue training...

Lara looked confused as she looked over the update. "The Mindbreaker... Why doesn't she come herself?" Krall'c shrugs. "Who knows what thigs vampires do?" Lara nods "Prepare the meeting room and clear Qui with security."

The aide paused. "The General won't be happy, Empress." She shot him a glare. "Then the General can take it up with me. After the meeting."

Qui arrived shortly. He had his usual leather vest on with cut off gloves. The gloves concealed brass knuckles. A grey T-shirt was worn under the pants as well as black jeans.
He knew where he was going. His eyes came up to meet someone walking towards him.

Ambassador Krall'c looked over the request and considered. He looks to the aide. "Who are these people again?"

The aide looked over his notes. "Apparently, they seem to be an advanced nation that is leaving Earth and have left behind a starnge cult, called the-"

Krall'c finshed for him. "The Reborn. I am familiar with the cult and know that the Empire cut off ties with nations harboring them. Deny their request." The aide nods and walks out.

OOC:err, what?, the reborn changed thir way's from war to studies 200 years ago in NS. plus the reborn are few now. only 40 members left, they aren't violent nolonger.

Lady Tian is almost 230 years old... and there are other cults that are similar called Reborn. The threads are long since buried though...

Qui shifted uncomfortably at that. "Ravelyn is well...has..a lot of things to get ready for, and we can't risk her leaving the nation for quite some time. " he said, walking along side Goor.

Goor considers that and nods, deciding to drop the subject. As they enter the palace and walk down a corridor, he speaks. "The Empress is eager to assure our past allies that nothing will change in our political relationships." He smiles. "Besides, the Ambrosial Coast is a popular tourist spot."

Goor opens a side door into a small office and steps aside. "I will tell the Empress you have arrived, she will be down in a few minutes."

While our Empire has never before enjoyed relations with yours, we would offer our condolences on the tragic death of your brother and our good wishes for your reign. With your leave, we would seek to send a representative to your Empire in the hope of establishing normal diplomatic relations.

"We would have to know your position on a number of issues...

Races other than humans. Genetic manipulation and cloning. Cybernetic implants. Capitalism versus Communism. Large military powers. Large military forces in space.

Please respond with the answers and we will decide."

Distinguished Ambassador,
Races other than human born within the borders of Finara are citizens of Finara. We are a traditional economy and reject both capitalism and communism. We have no opinion on large military powers as such. Our opinion depends upon thie rpositions. Due to the nature of your reply, we feel the need to clarify that all we suggested was normalization of relations, NOT an alliance of any sort at the present time. The Holy Empire of Finara strives to conduct itself according to a policy of goodwill among all nations, but we do not propose alliances upon first contact.

Krall'c looked at the response. "A Frontier economy? That's one I haven't seen in a while. And on the military. No opinion? Very strange..." He shakes his head. "They deftly avoided our questions and made it seem we are the ones with a hidden motive. Deny thier request. We will only let certain allies and perhaps an enemy or two send represenitives." The aide nodded. "Yessir."

"Don't keep me waiting," he said jokingly to Goor with a smile. He placed his hands in his pockets and looked around. My angel...be careful...please don't do anything rash...

He was only kept waiting a few minutes before the door opens and Lara walks in, looking tired. Two gaurds follow, but she waves them away. "If he wants to attack me, you aren't going to be able stop him." The gaurds look like they want to protest, but do as thy are told. She smiles faintly and sits, "Hello Qui. You requested a meeting?"

Qui slightly smiles at the fact that she knew that the guards could do nothing to protect her. Knowledge paid respect to him. He watched as Lara sat down and sat down across from her. Usually he didn't do "peaceful"...erm... "negotiations" so this was a nice change.
"Ravelyn actually requested a meeting, but she cannot leave the continent for the time being for various reasons, so thus she sent me." he smiled slightly. "I hope that all political alliances are still active..." he said as more of a declaration than a question.

Lara nods. "I am sorry she could not come in person I would have enjoyed talking with her." The Empress pauses for a second, considering the rest of his statement. "Most of them are. Our political ties with the nations of the Ambrosial Coast are still quite active."

Qui: I would much like you to meet her...soon that might not be possible at all. But if you care to stop by...*He rose from his seat and took out a card with the address of the Academy on it* If you need to reach me, or wish to speak with her..*he handed it to her* I suggest you look here first..

Lara nods and takes the card. "Was there anything else you wished to discuss?"

Qui thinks for a moment, and stands in the door way, he does not turn towards her as he speaks. "Yes...tell Goor the chains are being broken, and both opposing angels will be set free."

Lara nods, not understanding. "I will."

A large form looms up outside the doorway, an Assault Marine, sans armor. He is a close resemblence to another marine Qui remembers well.

"I have a report for you, Empress." He says, holding out the computer pad.

She takes it and scans it. "The Cult of the Cloud has been eradicated... good. They hjave been a thorn in our side even before Zedd Redburn went rouge and gave them nuclear technology."

The marine frowns at that. "I know. He is-was... my brother."

The Empress looked up, suprised. "I'm sorry. I didn't know." Small world. Perhaps I should watch him... she thought.

Leave that to me... He smiled at Lara. I'm sorry, where you thinking something? *what he did was not harmful, just to let her know that he was not one to be taken lightly. He would be Ravelyns link to this world....And by the way...Zedd...wasn't that bad of a guy...just kind of went crazy...must have been my manipulations class. *he smiled to himself, fangs resting on his lower lip as he began to exit.

Lara smiles and a voice appears in his mind, I know he did not cause much trouble for you, but he gave a terrorist organisation a nuclear weapon, who then set it off in one of our satalite state's major cities. She pauses. Oh, and... you aren't the only one who isn't to be taken lightly. She smiles to herself as Redburn outlines part of the report.

A slight smile crosses his face. He was ready to test that, just for fun, but she wasn't ready yet...but eventually..she would be. He turned and walked through the door.
