Thing is, the factbook only has limited space and I've filled it all up... here's a brief history of our region for you ka-razy Lancre fans out there.

In the beginning when Sirocco was founded, a fledgling authoritarian democracy in the South Pacific, I was but a n00b and had no real idea of how the game worked. Knowing of acquaintances I moved to the region of Switzerland Sucks (a pretty weird name, but hey) and started ambitiously trying to be delegate. Eventually, using endorsement-swapping, I clawed my way up into delegate position and was verrah happy.

The other Swiss Sucksians weren't.

I was hoisted back down and replaced. Prowling around I came across a region called Sodarules with one inhabitant- Sodarules. We acquainted and he joined Switzerland Sucks. We grew tired of the rambling and petty feuds between other nations in the region and decided to move away and create a region of our own. I suggested Lancre (being a diehard Terry Pratchett fan) and so it was decided. I created Lancre and Sodarules moved in followed by a few nations who were also tired of the constant arguing going on, (Docere and Land of War and Piece come to mind if I remember correctly) and so it began.

To get everyone more keyed in I began a 'Lancre' thread in the forum so that we could basically decide where we wanted the region to head. A few ideas were thrown up and some taken on. As a result of the brainstorming, we got the world famous Lancre Cup, the map (which was originally going to be made by Land of War and Piece, didn't turn out, I made one and then the computer after a few months suddenly stopped me from being able but now we have Peng-Pau, who is excellent, I couldn't have hoped for better! :) ) and the newspaper which got cut short sadly as the website it was on collapsed.

Lancre grew and grew and as it did the inhabitants of my old region got more and more envious. One ringleader moved away to create their own region and most of the others followed. Those who didn't died out and Switzerland Sucks died. It was the power struggles and the never ending endorsement swapping that led to its demise and I swore never to go down that path again. As a result, I have never endorsed anyone in Lancre and I never shall.

Lancre has been under near-constant attack from my old neighbours practically from the beginning and as such, a password was required and we were forced to be incredibly uptight about security. Rillean volunteered and took charge of incoming nations. He has now become a less frequent NS user and so I have taken control back since.

One day, the Lancre Herald (our now dead newspaper) predicted a meteorite crash in 21 days and, freakily, about 21 days later, eight nations ceased to exist and this has been known since as the Meteorite Crash. The sudden drop

Sodarules departed Lancre eventually, feeling that he was not needed anymore. Alas, pleading for him to stay did not work, and he now, as far as I know resides in Qaaolchoura's region (I can't remember how to spell the name...).

There have been too many invasions to remember and as such many have been ejected and banned, we have had to remain vigilant and I can't see us being able to relax anytime soon.

Well that's it! The history of Lancre! Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it...
