OOC: The Resi War
Santa Barbara

This is the OOC thread for the Resi War. No IC stuff here unless its for recordkeeping or something.
Anything that needs to be added here can be, I'll put it right here if needed.
2. The order of things should ROUGHLY be considered to already happened - I will just be posting my posts that I made for the below, and I suggest everyone else who can just do the same.
A. The Reich mobilization, followed by Resi and allies mobilization.
B. Devils Desert, Menelmacar, EOTED mobilization.
C. A Reich attack at the same time as PCC betrayal attack.
D. Melkor's, DA's, allies mobilization.
Anyone who gets (or got) involved after D. should wait for Resi's response to bring everything up to date before posting. (Actually, everyone should)
Because thats the way it was agreed upon, OOCly, that it would happen. The key thing that *I* wanna make clear is that anyone who *planned* this out-- the Reich, Devils Desert and Menelmacar-- gets the first 'moves' so to speak. Everyone else is reacting belatedly to their allies calls. (EOTED is an exception since they aren't mobilizing a lot of ground troops, and its pretty quick to just power up a gravfleet. Some others may be like this too. Melkor is a bit of a wild card since he is going through some RL issues now too, so he may have to be squeezed in later if he still wants to be involved. This is OK since ICly, Melkor is allied with the Reich and likely would be part of this.)
3. Space tech yes, impossible tech no. There are a lot of people involved who know a great deal of physics and science and we should all look to them for some help on anything needs clearing up.
4. Semi-invite. I dont want to be elitist by restricting nations that Im not aware of from RPing, on the other hand I dont want a bunch of random people jumping in constantly. So I'd say, limit to the mentioned nations and their allies. Anyone else is going to have to extensively RP their arrival on the scene, particularly if they're making an enemy of the superpowers involved in this war.
5. OOC discussion to be kept to a minimum on the new thread. Any big arguments should be on a separate thread. No 1-line RPing or lameness in general.
6. No use of OOC knowledge to make gains for oneself ICly. Goes for everyone.
7. If you already made a response/attack, keep it the same or at least as same as possible to what it is.
The Resi War thread (in International Incidents):
Can you put up a list of who is on which side, please? And mark me as for Resi. Thanks, Santa Barbara you threads have been a major help. *Goes off to read abridge War thread*
Just want to note that Telcordia is not making any "official" Actions... in other words you will not see any Telcordian flags or insignias and will be useing Resi made or Open tech... personel are not wearing Marked uniforms or anything but Rank and green jumpsuits are for all IC purposes essentially "tactically sterile" its a VERY large special operations mission really... and yes the sending the one covert crawler and not any actual units was cause I was stupid and thought Jai was there   so I well be sending more units but not anything massive...
-EDIT-
correction I will be useing one piece of non-Resi/Non-open Tech
http://www.angelfire.com/tn3/telcordia/Aurora.jpg
(yes I know what this was in the game but im not useing as such) and it its not Supercavitating its MHD or "Catepillar" drive makeing it very quiet exspecially at the depths it prefers to stay at as its a Deep Submergence Vehicle (DSV) with specially designed launch tubes and weaponry (like the ccovert crawler) I will be useing 3 of these but the chance of there being directly encountered directly (I.E. identified) is slim. its technically a SSGN but as it is also equipped with torpedo tubes on its underbelly its technically also an attack sub... there are only 3 of these and all three will be reporting for this mission (the Aurora, Rai Sieka, and The Hissatsu)
if anyone want's to kill the resi corp heir go to Jai must Die:the Hunt for Jai Resi and assist me
we are searching the islands for him, we are not going to accually FIND him until the other thread is either dead or done
actually that was my bad i thought you were talking about Resi's old thread called "the hunt for Jai" which was a historical thread which you were also involved with, my bad...
that's ok, wana join me in finding him? :)
that's ok, wana join me in finding him? :)not really Im a "covert" Resi Ally... but if your looking for an opponent other than Resi's police forces Im for it. :)
that's cool with me, post away sir

Umm... bump perhaps? Im not sure about the hunt for Jae Resi thing, personally, best to maybe wait til the war is good and going first to start that.

And the new war (still in its beginning stages) is here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=80931).
Woah, I go away for awhile and Resi is under attack!? Dang. I g2 protect my investments here.
Can somebody please list sides for the conflict? If Bajon gets involved, we will side with Resi.
BTW, if Jai is looking for a place to hide, the Capital Complex of Bajon (Inside Olympus Mons) is one of the most well protected places in the system. Jai would be welcome there.

As of now, there are no sides. Soon, though, the Reich and the PCC will buy out the Imperium to join them in an attack on us. A few random others (such as 01) will join in.
On my side, there's next to nothing compared to the forces against me. I'm not being pessimistic, just dead honest.

*Points to above quoted post* I agree with Santa Barbara on the new Hunt for Jai thread.

Oh, and CoVar, when I say "Imperium", I mean Melkor, not DI.
And we extend our biggest, hugest thanks to SB for all this. Not only are you named after the most kickass city on Earth, but without you none of this restarting the war would've been possible.

Thanks, Resi. Santa Barbara pride!
I gotta eat dinner, do some stuff, and I'll try to post something more later. I doubt Reich peeps will be able to post again tonight though, so I guess the war will technically begin tomorrow. (Hoping that no one posts out of order... crossing fingers... continuity!)
OOC: Can someone direct me to the war thread, I can't tell which one it actually is?

Its a bit odd but here:

That's what I was thinking. Yes, odd.
As this is the OOC thread I believe I will post the URL on how EMP works without having to use Nukes here:

What we use is a flux compression generator, or rather a hundred of those,

Beautiful! Just the link I was looking for, thanks Vegana!
FYI, all of my robots from v1.1 up are EMP sheilded (as I have stated in numerous threads). This means that the wide majority of my robots won't be effected, but some of the older models and some essential maintenence units might be felled by such weaponry.

Exactly how are they EMP-shielded? No sensors? Or are they stuck in a leadbox? Shielded doesn't mean EMP-proof so don't get your hopes up too high, EMP is one of the hardest thing to protect one from and the hardening process that are widely used in fighterjets still doesn't make the jets proof. If you're going to use a robotarmy this IS one of your greatest weaknesses, since the robots need to be able to scan their environment and run about in terrain and therefore can't be EMP-proof.

OOC: Could be a new wonder alloy, plastic, or something similar. He is a future-tech nation. I don't know, I bet you could find something on research into EMP sheilding, the government got to some project working on it or some scientist somewhere's got to be researching it.

You can't just pull wonder alloy EMP shielding out of ass-space though. Some things can be shielded feasibly from EMP, other things cant, but certainly not EVERYTHING.
Anyway Resi, I'd like to know how, ah, how much damage my very first attack, the simultaneous all-front close-range surprise assault, did. I was targetting the little silver ships from Vortex as well as your Star Strides that you had deployed. And, my fighter planes immediately began to target anything you had flying over your country. Air traffic, anything of yours. Basically, do I have air superiority here or what?
BTW, Roania's suggestion for $50 billion each won't even begin to cover it. I've already fired at least that much in missiles. (And I kinda wanna know what happened.)
EMP shielding is possible for embedded (read: in the ground, immobile) devices but total EMP shielding is not possible (sorry, realistic EMP shielding) for devices like robots that have circuits close to the surface. Hardening electronics helps in that it means you can use the circuits again after the effect dies off - it saves them from destruction - however by the nature of the EMP effect it will disrupt electronic communications (i.e. circuits)

Sorry, I was gone for the weekend. Now once we clear away all the s*** that happened when people started ignoring me, I can actually RP such things as attack damage and retaliations, with a few small character RPs thrown in on the side.

Due to advanced miniturization, ours obviously don't. We simply cake the insides of our robots with rubber, and reroute the current away from the skin as added protection. Now you will and the Reich PLEASE unignore us?
