This is the official debate thread for the nations of New Hampshire to utilize in electing their next UN Delegate. Each player with a nation in New Hampshire is free to vote once the debate has been concluded (Tuesday, 14 October, 2003 at 4:30PM GMT).

Here, candidates for the position may make their case, tell us why they should be our regional Delegate. Each candidate is encouraged to make an opening statement, then non-candidate nations of New Hampshire may ask them questions, point out concerns, or just plain attack their views (within reason).

Well, why do I, the Kingdom of Cotswold Morris, want to become regional UN delegate?
First, let me tell you about my personal views.

1. I believe that governments should be there if you need them and that they should stay out of our face if you don't.
2. I believe that governments have a duty to work with businesses to create a sound economic environment where low taxes rule the roost. When it comes to public spending, a vibrant economy which is not over-regulated or taxed is best for a sustainable programme of spending on health, welfare, education, public services and defence.
3. I believe that governments should be as open and honest as possible and respect the constitution and the countries traditions, history and heritage.

Secondly, I will tell you about what I would do as UN delegate, if elected.

1. I would password protect the region to stop unwanted invasions. They happen, unfortunately. I have taken part in an exercise to try to regain a region. It isn't pleasant.
2. I would help to create an environment of respect and tolerance in the region. It is best if we can all get along.
3. I would actively work to increase our membership of the region and work with others to ally ourselves with like minded regions.
4. I would be open and honest with all other members as this is clearly the best way to be. In addition, I would encourage membership of the UN, and for those who are there, I will try to make sure that everyone gets two endorsements so that they can submit resolutions.
5. I would be active on the forums to help put our message across.

Thirdly, I would like to state that if you would like a calm, assured delegate for New Hampshire, experienced in Nation States as a member and then delegate for Maine, the founder region of the NCA, who will try to create a determined and respectful atmosphere in New Hampshire, I ask you to vote for me.

How does the Kingdom of Cotswold Morris feel about religious issues? Do you recognize the authority of God over man, or do you feel that state and church are separate? The people of Godisrightistan feel very strongly about this issue and would welcome a UN delegate who has found the guiding light of God.

Second, the People of Godisrightistan have been polled and are strongly for password protecting the region, since it would discourage invasions by infidels and make the New Hampshire region residents feel more secure. Thus the good people of Godisrightistan are willing to support any morally suitable candidate who supports the password protection initiative.

Cotswald Morris already has my vote and it will stay that way without some serious debate. when is voting taking place?

I think the password protect is a good idea. Is it possible?

I would like to point out that as Founder I have the power to install a regional password. However, I have yet to install one because I am still recruiting new nations to join, and as founder I retain the power to repel invaders or anyone that we deem a threat to our haven.

I would like to point out that as Founder I have the power to install a regional password. However, I have yet to install one because I am still recruiting new nations to join, and as founder I retain the power to repel invaders or anyone that we deem a threat to our haven.

My stance on religious issues is as follows:

I support every nation's right to follow the religion of their choice and understand a nation's right to feel strongly about this issue. It is up to them. Personally, I believe that church and state can exist side by side happily with neither particularly ruling the other, but it is up to the nation itself to decide. Sorry, Godisrightistan.

My nation's religion is Anglican, but it is practiced by 1 in 5 citizens and there are variations, including 3 in 5 who have no strong religious views.

As for password protection, The Secret Pumpkin as founder, has control. I have discussed this with him and am very happy to abide by this if I become delegate.

Since I am an Defense Minister of Elite Ghost, I will do the same. NH's defense is very weak compared to the other regions. I will add an 1 trillion Deposit into the Regional Researching Defense Center of NH! This will enhance our Number 1 Prorrity on National Security. Any Region that wants to challege our region, will attack First Strike on our land. This gives out an greater chance to destroy us. We must not let them do that.

The Anti-Terror Army is funded on mainly Police Force, Miltary, Trades, and more miltary. This gives an chance to let my Special Emergency Forces (SEF) Patrol in every nation, as what it says on their daily job. Peacekeeping is also a important tasks. ATA PeaceK Forces are very strong, flexible, and quick. These forces can handle many Surprise or even a Planned Attack.

As UN Delegate, I will also make an Strong, Money-Earning Currency, which will be the Š. Š1 is worth about 60 English Pounds, which is much more currency than the average US Dollar! The New Currency Upgrade, will enhance the Regional Economy and will help our Regional Funded Army, as well.

Unacceptable. Godisrightistan's own police force and army are more than capable of handling any and every situation they come up against. We require no outside security forces, especially when your rhetoric indicates that they are only a very poorly disguised occupational force.

Unacceptable, if you plan for this to be the regional currency, not only your national one. Currencies rated so high have almost no practical use and will surely only end up hurting the economy of New Hampshire.

But wait, wouldn't this mean that you plan to make all these moves if you are NOT elected? In any case, your statement makes it impossible for us to grant you our vote. We also strongly discourage any other nation to vote for The Anti-Terror Army.
