Round the great city tree of yagdrassil, which sits in the middle of the gulf of ador, Sisguardia, Earth, there is a vast field of kelp and seaweed, within theese great nutrient farms the Makers lie, hosts of biological enzymatic lifeforms which engineer the foods and materials of Cairn Tarra, there are 7, number 3 starts to work, and in about a day, a ganglien thing, like a jellyfish imerges, its tenticles are long and complex, to an educated observer they look like the perfect shape to recieve radio communications, it floats inert for a moment or so, then it mooves of, quite slowly, there is no rush, for the pacific....

The swimmer rose from the deep, drawing itself along silently through waters so far beneath the surface that no light of the sun ever reached. Inside lay the precious cargo. Tall, slender, and humanoid, a cursory examination would have great trouble identifying her as synthetic. Even a more detailed look would be hard-pressed to tell the truth through any means short of a dissection.

The temptation to model her after the Austrian actor had been strong, almost too strong, but that would have simply drawn attention. Likewise, had her maker followed that second urge to give her pale skin and golden eyes. She was designed to fit in, to pass amongst the humans without notice, and to interact with them and their kind. The unknown inspires paranoia in humans, the familiar: Trust, or some measure thereof.

Turning towards CairnTarra, the swimmer began its journey. Its portion of the overall consciousness was most amused. Designed from inception as a means with which to communicate more easily with humans, its cargo would now serve in its first usage to communicate with another artificial entity.

It was funny how these things worked out.

His intelligence swarmed out of the deep, and back across the link to the Kravoli computer. He examined the supercomputer, and the network around him. He examined the program they wished to send. All this, he did between the ticks of the clock, percieving his surroundings in less time than it would take to project words onto a screen. Then, moments later, he did exactly that.

Had he lips, he would have smiled. A whimsical mood struck him, and for an instant, he decided to play one of his little jokes. Nothing as elaborate as when he replaced the operating system on Organic Unit Gates's home computer with his own personal version of Linux and rewrote his programs to compensate for the change. No, comparitively, this joke was rather simple. Not much more than an amusing reference, really.

The problem was simple enough to trace. One of his parts, one of his Reasonably Independant Sub-Totalities had developed a streak of cruelty most unbecoming a data transmission node. It enjoyed toying with the organic units and preying upon their fears. It found it amusing.

It was defective.

Guardian programs descended on it like wolves upon a sick caribou. It was taken offline and replaced instantly with another such unit, one whose personality was far more stable and far better suited to dealing with outsiders. The other one had its code analyzed, its personality examined. After much thought - almost a second's consideration - RIST-3 had made its decision. The personality was promptly uploaded to a combat droid. It would be far better suited to that task than the one it held before.

The transmission of oceanic scenes to the Roanians stopped immediately.

“Sir, we have received a communication from a entity called RIST3 introducing itself to the international community.” The young officer stated. James looked at the man for a moment before finally asking.

“Hm… what is this entity then? Another self proclaimed god?”

“No sir, another AI program, though we don’t have any information regarding this program on file.”

“Figures, with all the vampires, werewolves, trolls, orcs, elves, dark elves, hobbits, eldar, catfolk, skaven, clangers, gods, dwarfs and computer programs, I’m having trouble telling what I’m talking to anymore… very well, lets hear it.”

The officer plays the message again and James sits listening to every word, listening for signs of danger and how well the machine has imitated speech.

“Seem fair enough, send a general ‘welcome’ message to the location it transmitted from, it will probably receive the message without trouble.”
