Nuclear Weapons Test
The test of the new RM-NPLS1 (Nuclear Payload Launch System) 25-megaton missile is taking place. Assuming the test is successful, we will be selling them for 200 million to reputable nations (your background WILL be checked).

The missile sat on the launch pad, the area had been cleared except for cameras and recording equipment.
The earth shattered as the missile flew into the air and created a deafening rumbling sound which soon passed as the missile entered the atmosphere.

A short while later, their was a small rumble and a small cloud appeared. Both the sound and the cloud quickly expanded into what we all know as a nuclear explosion.

The empty island would be uninhabitable for some time (ooc- we cleared off all wildlife etc before the test).
I'm interested
You haven't really got much of a roleplaying history. Sorry but we couldn't tell what your intentions would be :(

Noticing the disturbing number of nuclear tests occuring, Allied Naval Command has dispatched the ANS Mannerheim (Pegasus class Heavy Cruiser) ANS Tovey (Gearing class destroyer) ANS Lion (Mod-Fletcher class destroyer) and ANS Orion (Ticonderoga class cruier) to monitor the nuclear tests near Coldorra, collect information to determine the specifics of the nuclear weapons, and show the Allied flag.
---News Report---
Upon completion of the test, Communism Soviets began to organise strikes and riots. Police are currently fighting to keep control of some areas, whilst other more right-wing (ie. socialist) areas have stayed calm. It is suspected that the Liberal Socialist government may bring in military weapons.
---Roleplay---
Army rendevous point where troops are preparing to enter the city
Yuril toyed with his SA-80 precision rifle. After seeing action in Communist Tadjikistan, he expected to have been shipped to Talaax with the rest of the veterans, but a minor injury to his leg prevented him from returning to service so immediately. He was declared fit about a week after the troops left on their peacekeeping missions.
He didn't expect to be seeing action against his own people....
The troops were lounging about, waiting for the go ahead. Nearby civilians sat watching them prepare to move in. He cursed the Soviets for their actions and would have gladly taken action against their leaders with a shot from his rifle. Which reminded him that he was only equipped with rubber bullets. No killing today, thankfully, he just hoped he didn't encounter anyone he knew.
The Mega Tau Government expresses it's dismay at your testing of this terrible weapon. There are other 'cleaner' means of attacking than using this backward radioactive pollutant that's already messed-up parts of our planet.
We urge you to review your policy on nuclear testing and invite you to join other nations and sign this Treaty with us:

Unfortunately the government cannot agree to all the terms therein. In particular:
1. If you have nuclear weapons and want to sign this treaty, you must first openly destroy your nuclear weapons.
The word suicide springs to mind.

"dismantle your nuclear weapons." Is what it is intended to mean.
I'll provide you with chemical weapons, Colldara. Much cleaner and more efficient.

Commodore Micheal Archwald stood on the main deck of the Mannerheim as it slid slowly through the waters with the Lion waiting for the Orion and Tovey to return from collecting data. This wasn't his biggest assignment, commanding the Athena during the Tortugan Wars was more prestigious, but this was his first time out commanding a squadron. He was hundreds of miles away from the 3rd Fleets command station, it also meant he was days away from any other ships.
"Excuse me, sir?"
Archwald turned to see a junior officer walking up to him with a report from the CECC which had been monitoring local news.
"Thank you" He took the report and skimmed over it, the local government was having trouble it seemed. Perhaps it would be best to pull the task force further away, but he wanted to see how this developed.
"Instruct the Orion and Tovey to re-form with the main group, and send a message to Corregidor informing them we are staying here to monitor the situation"
"Yes sir" the junior officer turned around and walked away, Archwald looked back out to the grey skies and sea, yes, this was his command

The fact is, NO-ONE uses their nukes in war. it is just a way to say "Oh look, we're powerful!"
This disgusts the Imperial Navy.
We ask that you dismantle your weapons. NO ONE will attack you unless you provoke them!

How can an October nation have a nuclear weapons?! 25 megatons as well.
In about a month you could perhaps have an atomic bomb of about 40 kilotons, now way a thermonuclear device.
The fact is, NO-ONE uses their nukes in war. it is just a way to say "Oh look, we're powerful!"
I've seen Communist allies get nuked before.. It's my only form of defense against such attacks.
We are doing this purely as a deterent but we're not going to stand down our arms because a couple of nations say so. The security of our nation has been threatened by nukes before. No more.
Elias, we got the plans off a much much older nation. We're a peaceful nation, but we're threatened at every corner by terrorists, some supported by nations also armed with nuclear weapons.
There's a 95% chance we will NEVER use them, but simply having them is a major form of defense.
After a referrendum (spelling?) in our nation, we have decided to cease creation of any more nuclear weapons for our own use. The current 120 (100 purchased from another nation) strong nuclear stockpile will not be increased in any way.
I'll provide you with chemical weapons, Coldorra. Much cleaner and more efficient.
Sorry but these nuclear weapons really are just as a detterent. We have no plans to use them, they are simply to prevent any more nuclear threats on our nation.
Well, you should be able to afford it, but, why do require them? (You haven't got a roleplaying history I can work off)
In the region of bristle the government was going crazy. There had being a nuclear test site very close to the region. They had figured out that the fallout would reach them and were not happy. In the head quarters of BIO the intelligence teams had found they had come from a small nation called Coldorra
The government tried to contact the Coldorra government demanding an explaination. the mesage read
We demand to know why a ballistic weapon was tested this close to the region of Bristle. This caused much land to become uninhabitable and un useable for many generations to come. Our givernment demands an explaination. If we recieve none we will assume this ballistic missile 'test' was in reality a well disguised attack on the region Bristle
Please exucse our actions. We didn't realise the territory in question was owned and it was deemed very remote.
ooc - I've got work to do so I won't reply for a while.
As stated above, Conventional Nuclear Weaponry is more harm then helpful, what with the radiation and nuclear fallout. As such, I myself perfer our "Clean" Nuclear weapons, less destructive then a regular nuke, but no risk of fallout. Rest assured, there are no conventional Nuclear weaponry within the nation of Krowemoh.
Doctor J.D. Forth, Head of the Department of Arms R&D
It will take more than an apology, as a growing region that was farm land. The area destroyed by this blast generates several million tons of meat per year. this makes up a relatively large proportion of our economy.
We must ask for compensation of these actions so we can search for a way to neutralise this radioactive material and pay the honest farmers who worked the land
[ooc=hmm, i gota go do some work to, be back in approx 20 hours to collect money]
ooc - I just spent alot of my budget on nuclear subs I've only got a little bit left  Nice bit of roleplay by you though, sly
We can offer $1 billion and possibly, but not confirmed, monetary injections at a latter date.
The $1 billion has been wired immediately.
i have decided there are 2 options
the land which was destroyed by these tests may need to be replaced. Our whale farming industry is worth several billion dollars to our economy every year. the area destroyed is worth about 500 million each year.
you could either replace the lost land. this would also require some compensation of 2 years production and $200,000 to all of our farmers effected by the catastrophe.
total cost=
20*200,000=4,000,000+1,000,000,000
=1,004,000,000 +land
either that or ou could pay us $500,000,000 compensation each year for however long the radiation lasts and $200,000 per farmer and then $100,000 per year to each farmer.
We will await your descision. Either option you choose $1,000,000,000 will be taken off after the money already sent
Nukes are our *currency*. We buy food with them. Why would we want to buy any from you?

You're just pissed that you're not "reputable". The Oppressed Peoples of Communisima will have nothing to do with nuclear weapons, or any other weapons. We'd rather devote our resources to making our people happy... and they are. Yay us!
ooc - You're really pushing it Lapse :?

Nukes will only have really noticable fallout and radioactive effects if they are especially built as dirty nukes. The nukes today actually leave very little lasting radioactivity. The actual lasting background radiation from a 100 kiloton nuke would be quite low. In a ground-contact airburst, the fallout particles would allready be dispersed over a very large area by enviromental effects before they touched the ground and thus their density at each square kilometer would be so low that no real or serious damage would be caused by them as long as you didnt go to the damn ground zero of the blast or very close to it. The hazardness of nukes is vastly over-estimated as the "Nuclear Winter" myth for example proves quite well. I point you to here.

You're a bit small to own them. It really doesn't fit in well. There is a place you could purchase some at your age, but it isn't from me ^_^
