The Queendom of Valinarii is announcing that it will begin to be involved in world affairs. We have decided to finally come in personal contact with the other species who liveth above the water. We shall provide a brief history and description of our civilization.

Valinarii is an underwater civilization, but there is no water in its boundaries. A mystical shield protects all of Valinarii, made of a titanium gel that is totally transparent. Its area is about as large as Australia, and rests in the deep ocean of the North Pacific.
There is not air per se in Valinarii. It is such a strange mixture that we cannot possibly describe it in English. It is not of water, but it is not of gas either. Any fish may be able to "fwim" (fly/swim) through the Valin atmosphere.
The Ivatheur (what we call The Shield) is virtually impenetrable, and few have ever crossed it without dying a horrible death. All those not welcome in Valinarii die within 30 seconds of entering our sacred queendom.
The Valin climate is cool for humans, but we consider it quite comfortable. Our average temperature is around 20° Celsius (52° Farenheit). We have many old trees in our land, mostly oak, maple, and hickory. Chinese pistaches are also fairly populated throughout Valinarii.

We are a race separate from humans, but we are close. Our race is 1/3 of each of the following:
1/3 Mermen
1/3 Elven
1/3 Human

We call our race 'Valinar', hence our civilization's name. To say that we are Valin means that we are "of Valinarii", which simply means we are the Valinar. We welcome all of the galaxies to call us either of the two, it is your choice. :)
Our people are pale with fair hair, sometimes brown. For women to be topless may be considered immoral and barbaric by some, but it is common practice in Valinarii. Their eyes are much like that of humans, and we have the wisdom of the Elves of Lothlorien and Rivendell.
Valinar are equipped with giungs (gills/lungs), and can breathe in air and water. Don't forget that our atmosphere is haiwa (half air/half water).

Valin buildings are of a fluid gelly substance. All of them are translucent, but can be made opaque. It is common practice for clans to paint their houses the same color. However, the human term "paint" is much different from ours. Our paint is an electric kind, in which there are currents and flashes all within the paint, making it seem alive. The Queen's color has and shall always be Electric Purple. Only the Clan de Royale is allowed to have purple upon its buildings. The most important buildings are painted with a bright light, making it look as if beams of bright white sunlight are scurrying all over the buildings.

The capital of Valinarii is Malentiar, surrounding Lake Adon. It comprises of 15% of the entire population of Valinarii.

Our system of government is very unique. The Queen has a High Council of One Hundred, which makes passes all the laws of the land. The Queen chooses them herself, and they are usually nobles and members of the Clan de Royale, which is of course the royal family. These 100 Councilours represent the 10 districts of Valinarii, which will be shown at a later date. Our court system is similar to that of the court system of the United States of America, but there is no Supreme Court. Instead, there is the Supreme Councilour, who makes all the court decisions that are brought to him. The Supreme Councilour has always been a male, and shall always be. The people can only vote on simple issues, such as ordinances and taxes in their Villagoen.

Valinarii's technology level is mostly futuristic, but we do not have futuristic weapons, such as guns and such. We are mostly protected by spells and wizards. We do have nanomachines, which are responsible for all public construction. There are 5 power plants in Valinarii, which run off salt, and are built underground. Yes, salt is our power supply. It is obviously plentiful in supply, and we have thousands of salt-collecting facilities across the land.

I am King Iossif IV, husband of Queen Gwendolyn II. We have 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys. The heir to the throne, our oldest daughter, is Princess Aerona of Adon.

Aerona is a strong young woman, and a powerful warrior. She is always dressed in battle gear, to prove that she is not weak. She is very intelligent and learned in the arts and such.

0 C = 32 F, but the formula is:

(9/5)C + 32 = F,
so, (9/5)(20) + 32 = 68 F.

HISTORY OF VALINARII

Anyway, moving on. I shall cover the history of our civilization since its beginning, in the time of merpeople...

3000 B.C.-2000 B.C.
The First Age

One day, thousands of years ago, there were merpeople that lived in harmony in the area that is present-day Valinarii. Then elves came one day on ships, and the merpeople saw them. The two races began a relationship, and then one day a mermaid fell in love with an elf. The two married, and produced a child, and it made half of the equation. The humans came upon vast ships, and they too saw the merpeople, of which some were mixed races. The humans then fraternized with the elves and mermaids, and a new race was born. This new race created the Ivatheur, and created the land of Valinarii. The Valinar were born...

The first Valinar to ever exist was Malicaren, and she is pictured below:

She became the queen of the Valinar along with her lover, Terrufan.

Terrufan and Malicaren were very happy together, and began the race of the Valinar. Their children created the queendom that exists today, a few which we shall look at.

Throught the First Age, there was much growth. There were many wars amongst the clans, and Valinarii was composed of hundreds of small fiefdoms. Then one day, a Valinar by the name of Gwifendel came to power.

Gwifendel is the most respected of all the Queens to ever have ruled Valinarii. She brought upon a powerful age of prosperity, introduced music and literature to the Valin, and set the grounds for our current government today. Many statues exist of her in many cities across the land.

Around 2150 B.C., when Gwifendel died, there was a period of unrest. Riots and revolt ensued throughout the cultural strongpoints that Gwifendel so carefully built. The queendom broke into hundreds of smaller fiefdoms once again, and there would not be order restored until 100 years later.


2000 B.C.-0 A.D.
The Golden Age

In 2000 B.C., order was slowly returning. There was one fierce warrior, who had led her fiefdom to triumph, controlling most of the land in Valinarii. There were two other powers to reckon with. But Princess Drudwen (pictured below) was victorious in the end, and returned Valinarii to its former power.

She and her husband, Gwythyr (who was a centaur), ruled over Valinarii for 600 years. They valued the arts and education, returning Valinarii to a power never before seen. It became the cultural hub of the world, the military might of the oceans, and educational focus of the universe. They had many children, and created a very strong dynasty within Valinarii.

After her parents had died, Princess Eurwen came to power. She was an elegant woman, who had all the interests that her parents had. She continued their reign of prosperity for 400 years, and built roads between boroughs. She also increased trade within Valinarii. Princess Eurwen would become the first Valinar to not have the bottom half body of a mermaid. :wink:

Princess Eurwen had 2 children, 1 was a girl. This girl was named Eiry.

Queen Eiry, as she became, was a very modest woman. She was shy and kept to herself. She did not have the outgoing traits that leaders usually did, but she was very work-oriented. She tried her hardest not to fail, and when she did, she did not let up on herself. Eiry the Kind is one of the most respected Queens that Valinarii has ever had, other than Gwifendel. Queen Eiry had 1 child, and it was a boy.

Prince Idris was the only male to ever rule Valinarii. He was the last leader of the Golden Age, and was a good ruler. He built up the Valin military, and made sure that it was well protected. Idris also ensured that people had a way to get medical help in the case they needed it, and expanded music and the arts.

0 A.D.-1000 A.D.
The Age of Darkness

After Prince Idris died, his daughter, Adlea, took the throne.

She spent the first hundred years securing the area of Valinarii that were in tight control by the Queendom, and built up her army. The barbaric orcs had snuck into the far north, and were pillaging the lands. She would wait until they came to attack her lands. A massive Valinar army awaited them:

The elves won the battle, but the orcs continued pillaging the lands for 1000 years. A Dark Age settled upon Valinarii, and hundreds of queens ruled through this period of grief and fear.

1000 A.D.-Present
The Revival and Continuation

In 1000 A.D., a powerful Queen came into existence. Her name was Queen Morwen. She was plagued with the orc attacks, and vowed to end it once and for all.

She stood one last battle in the northern plains of Valinarii, and defeated the orcs so badly that they disappeared from Valinarii forever. She immediately began rebuilding projects throughout the queendom, and focused her attention on restoring what had been destroyed by orcs during the Dark Age. All keeled at her power and might, and when she was angry, even the strongest men cowered in fear. Queen Morwen is seen as the most powerful Queen to ever rule.

After the death of Queen Morwen, her one and only daughter took to the throne. Her name was Queen Gwendolyn I. Gwendolyn I was a very modest and stiff woman, who was very concerned about her appearance, in public or not.

Gwendolyn improved many things, such as healthcare and education. She made sure that the Valinar military was strong enough for defense, and improved the infastructure of the civilization. We owe much to her, and she has been seen as the champion of all Valinar.

When Gwendolyn I died, her daughter took power. Gwendolyn II, who is in power now, began her reign. Already, she has reigned for 300 years. Valinar usually live to be 900 years old, and Gwendolyn II is 715. Gwendolyn II is seen as a true champion of peace, while not giving up defense. She is a strong advocate of free healthcare, but wishes taxes to be low for Valinar. Our civilization has "modernized" a great extent under Gwendolyn II, without our culture drifting. We owe much to Her Majesty, and I shall show her portrait once again. Also, I shall post the portrait of the Minister of Defense, Dylan Mackson.

Our scholars know exactly what you speak of. It is written in the diaries of Princess Eurwen. She spoke of a dark man in the distance who seemed to be of a sinister type, but very very powerful.

I feared him greatly, but I did not know what to do. I sensed that his power was very high, but he was a dark man. Diary, I do not know if I made the right choice, but the Queendom will prosper no matter.

It appears that our nations have had an unspoken meet before, which is truly amazing.
