R+D for wireless energy transmission and FTL communication

A new project has begun in IP -- that of transmission of electricity without a physical connection. If this can be done, FTL communication could be created using the same tech. If instant energy - or non-instant - enegy transmission can be created, this could be a huge leap for the Fleet and civilian needs.
Also, a prototype of a Destroyer-class ship has begun.
IPBM's (Inter-Planetary Ballistic Missiles) [pic, later] have gone into production, and a stock of 5 will be maintained.

Why aren't you looking? Is it the dull thread title?
because everyone who wants FTL already has it ;)

I don't!
Yeah, not all of us just find a floppy disk full of FTL secrets laying in the streets...

I've been having a hell of a time finding someone to sell me the tech. Just communication would be great.
I'm fairly sure we offered you two types of FTL... one for smaller ships, and one really powerful really fast system for motherships.
We can give you (SW) Hyperdrive technology for 10 billion, and space fold technology for 50 billion.

I need more info on both of those.
and subspace communications systems for 2 billion.

see above. More info is needed. Also, I have a mad cool pic ready to go for my communications transmitter ship thing. So I would appreciate it if a dish-like thing would work.
Subspace Communication: Sends a transmission beneath normal space at a rate of around 10,000c
Space fold: Nearly-Instant teleportation between two points up to 5,000 ly away... has cooling times and fold/defold times etc basically spacefold closes the gap in empty space between points by using an enormous amount of hyperspace energy. Long distances take several folds. If you were to estimate it in C... on average it is about 100,000,000c
(SW) Hyperdrive: Propells you at high speeds through a "tunnel" in space you create with energy in your ship... the better the hyperdrive the fast it goes. Hyperdrive Multipliers is a scale relative to the average corvette... usually fighters can make a coefficient of 1, hot rods can make .5, and big capital ships can make around 6... Hyperdrive Multiplier=x1 = roughly 1,000,000c/1... as a simple rule, just divide 10^6c by the multiplier number
c=speed of light, FYI
this work for ya?
OOC: I made most of this up, but it's fairly accurate of MY tech.

How about I buy the Hyperspace tech right now? I'm afraid that I dont have the cash right now for the space fold, but could I give you a 20 billion deposit on it and pay you back over 3 years? The supspace communications aren't my style, I'll make my own technobabble for communications systems.

I'll be on again in an hour, about.
Sure thing, order confirmed, they will arrive at pluto very shortly.

OOC: You know... you can just delete a post instead of editing it, right? :) that's what the http://www.nationstates.net/forum/templates/subSilver/images/icon_delete.gif button is there for... ;)

Oh yeah, what are the accelerate/decelerate times for Hyperdrive?
Oh yeah, what are the accelerate/decelerate times for Hyperdrive?Hyperdrive Accellerate/decellerate time is negligable, it's the calculations athat are the only time consuming part... but if you have a Nav computer it'll help a little bit.
