And then there were Dragons ....

It was a beautiful day in Famicon. The sun was shining, there was a warm breeze of wind and birds were singing everywhere around.
Johnnie Doe was picknicking in a large field just outside of Utopia City. It wasn't easy being the President's most trusted employee. He had just returned from an exhausting trip to Clangerland, and now he was appointed Regent because the President had to leave Famicon AGAIN. But today he wasn't so busy, and he could take a little time off. The Acting Head of the Council of Thugs, Barry Maxwell, could take care of business for a little while. For now, at least, he could rest. Or so he thought.

While he was enjoying his tea, suddenly a shadow passed over his head. How could this be? There wasn't a cloud in sight just one minute ago. Clouds couldn't move that fast! Could they? He decided to look up, and Lo! To his surprise, he spotted naught less than five hundred Red Dragons. They laned close to him, the one closest to him barely not smashing his lunch. One of them was ridden by a Loklorian.

"I have come to deliver you this troop of Red Dragons. The other five troops and the ten troops of Blue Dragons will arrive shortly."

Regent Doe was startled, to say the least, but quickly regained his posture. "Ah yes, the Dragons we have ordered. They have finally arrived. Excellent. Tell your superior that the money has been wired. Will you need any transport, or has that been taken care of?"

"The last troop will contain 516 Dragons instead of 500, and as such all sixteen caretakers will have a Dragon to return home on. I hope you know how to deal with them, though.", the courrier answered.

OOC: please keep those kind of comments to yourself unless you want to do it officially, in which case you'll have the First Infantry and the Fleet of Dragonriders up your ass. Thank you for your time.

The other troops had arrived. The Red Dragons were hurriedly shipped to the research centre in Igonia. The five thousand Blue Dragons that were left on the field were frollicing about. General Frank Dalton quietly watched them with a pleased look on his face. Regent Doe had left him in charge of the Dragon Rider Fleet. And soon, the volunteers would arrive. All fourty thousand of them, even though only the best ten thousand would be chosen for the job. The rest? Well, they'd go back to their current infantery devision.

He had just been informed that the ten troops would be combined to two devisions. He himself would command the First Dragon Rider Devision, a certain Colonel Jake MacNamara would command the Second Dragon Rider Devision. He didn't know the chap, but of course if he was selected for such a task he would none the less be trustworthy ... he hoped. Oh well, he would know what he had to work with soon enough. Far in the distance he could already see the transport trucks arriving. It was only a matter of minutes ...

After a mere week of training, already five thousand Rider wannabees had dropped out or had been sent back to their own Devision. But the fact remained that there were still thirtyfive thousand trainees, with only ten thousand slots to fill ...

The Storm Dragons of the Five Civilized Nations were angered by the sale and purchase of Dragons. The Storm Dragons had been protectors of all the Dragons for many a millenia. Now, there anger has risen, and they are moving to free their brethren.

OOC: Why are you buying dragons? To the Storm Dragons, this is considered sacrilege...

IC: The Storm Dragons assisted by the high-tech, state of the art, 5CN army, begin to mobilize...

(OOC: come on man, I don't want a war. If you really wanna fight, I'll let you know where I bought these and you can pester that guy. I'm too busy in other places to fight right now.)

We urge the leaders of Five Civilized Nations to reconsider. We treat our Dragons very well, and we were assured that they were a low-intelligence variety, comparible to the Storm Dragons in te same way as Chimps to Humans

The order for mobilization has been countermand... If you ever mistreat your dragons, we will hold you responsible...

The training was complete. Five thousand men had proven to be extraordinairily skilled in maneuvering the Dragons. Another five thousand were not so skilled in the maneuvering in itself, but they were sufficiently skilled in maintaining their balance on a flying Dragon while shooting. They were also selected, to be the gunmen providing cover for the Dragon while flying.

The soldiers were armed as such:

Pilots(5000):
1 FN P90 SMG
2 FN Five-seveN pistols

Gunmen 1st Class(2500):
1 FN Minimi Para Machine Gun
2 FN Five-seveN pistols

Gunmen 2nd Class(2000):
1 Remington 11-87 Shotgun
2 FN Five-seveN pistols

Gunmen 3rd Class/Snipe Riders(500):
1 Sako TRG-42 Sniper Rifle
1 FN P90 SMG
2 Five-seveN pistols

General Dalton looked over his troops and smirked. He had been given a new assignment. Time for his troops to prove their worth.
