Even Old Legends Must Pass On...

It was a dull morning. The clouds seemed to hang low and dark in the sky. The air was damp, occationally drizzling. Victor Solis was in the Senate chambers, talking with some of the senior-most members.

"It has happened." Victor showed a bit of emotion for once, sadness.

"What? What's happened?" Elder Senator Rog frowned, "Now is no time for riddles, Victor."

"President Gibson has passed away..." His words echoed in the chamber.

---

- President Carl Gibson, the revolutionary hero, and president of our country for the past 105 years has passed away in his sleep this morning...

- Citizens around the nation are in mourning today as news of their president's death is broadcast on every channel, and many internet sites...

- Conspiracy theorist are quiet for once, aparently being silent in respect...

- At the age of 135 President Carl Gibson passed away this morning, reportedly of respiratory failure...

- It is assumed that Speaker Victor Solis will be stepping in to take President Gibson's place, according to recently inacted changes to presidental power...

The procession to the Temple of Tsathoggua was the longest ever seen in the Hack. Longer even than the victory parade at the end of the Corporate Rebellion.

The Temple is a massive structure north of Chiba City, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The ancient structure is almost imposing in the gloomy light of the day. Victor stands before the altar, wearing a completely white suit.

"Today, our leader has passed on from this world. He lead us through the shadowy gloom of socialism, and raised us to the status of a world power. His ruling was wise and just, as represented by how beloved he was by the people.

"While we mourn his passing, we must also celebrate his life. There comes a time when even old legends must pass on, and, alas, Carl Gibson's time has come. He was a great man; the greatest. He will always be remembered."
