The Fall of the Ivory Lady (FTR, please participate).

"Alexandra has gone too far this time" Yelled angrily Septhienna "Allowing that...mortal filth to step through the sacred halls of Massidia comes as a slap to our own kin"

The furious winged woman crossed the heavily ornated room and stood before the beautifull crystaline window. There, the magnificent golden city of Massidia extended for miles, it's marblestone towers growing in an attemp to touch the sky. Angels crossed the blue vault above it, while the afternoon sunrays drew blinding shines out of the golden domes of the palaces.

"Do you not belive the same, Theodorus? -continued Septhienna, without turning her long haired head- That she has crossed a line of great danger?" She said, raising her right eyebrow.

At her backs, near the high brass doors of Septhienna's private study, a tall, magnificent figure stood, his body completely covered in a heavy golden armor, and a tall and ornated helmet resting on his right arm. Theodorus, archangel and Aegis of Massidia, the maximum protector of the city.
He doubted for a second "So it would seem, my lady. However..."

He was interrupted by Septhienna "So it would seem..." She turned her white painted face to him, her red eyes blazing like furious torches "So it would seem! Of course it does, Theodorus!" Said, while raising both arms "This is a grotesque insult to all that represent us, poisoning our holy city with the prescence of humans!"

Theodorus remained silent, his deep blue eyes fixed on the large ivory statue at the other side of the room, near where Septhienna stood.

Her face seemed to change into a calmer one, as she gently walked towards the archangel, her naked feets making no sound against the cold marblestone floor. When she got to him, her right hand gently ran through the soldiers shinning armor, making the archangel feel clearly uncomfortable.
"Now, Theodorus, what are your thought on these...humans" She spat the last word.

"They are our allies in these lands, and allowed us to occupy these lands without hessitation after our exodus. I have no further comments about them" He said, with a toneless voice.

Septhienna smiled "Do not lie to me, archangel. I have heard the words and opinions that run among the others of you kin, and all of them follow the exact same line. What are your real thoughts on them?" She inquired again, her eyes nailed in the soldier's ones.

Theodorus seemed cold as a statue "No more than the ones I have already said, my lady"

Septhienna rolled her eyes and turned her head backwards, while her hand was still touching the armor "Ahh, I know you lie, Theodorus, I know you lie -her face turned again to meet his- You hate them as much as I do, say it! The are not even worthy of our attention, yet they walk as one of ours, bringing corrupted ideas and words of pure lie"

"The delegation has come here to discuss important diplomatic agreements between holy Zigaroth and the Federation. They count with Her Holyness Alexandra's aproval, therefore with mine as well"

Septhienna stepped back, expressionless "Very well, archangel, that is what your duty tells you now. But I can assure you that, sooner than later, I will find you here under a completely different situation. Until then...begone"

Without any other action, Theodorus set his helmet over his head, and bowed "My lady". Said this, he turned and walked through the doors, his articulated armor relasing metalic sounds with each step.

The Federal Delegation for Diplomatic and Economic Ties -composed of Karloff Allamand, Chieff Dimplomatic Chancellor, Augustus Fistkoffen, General Voicer of the Supreme Consulate, Ijolahn Karnadak, Commercial Aid and Support Comitee Member and Irkas et Kalibura, Chieff Ambassador of the Federation- had recently arrived to Port Sidoccia, on the western coast of Zigaroth. There, the Posseidon-class sea vessel that brought them remained docked, until the representatives had to leave the nation. The long years of isloation had made impossible for Zigaroth to integrate themselves into the vast regional MagLev nets, forcing the delegation to travel by sea.

As they walked down from the ship, their eyes meet the magnificent wiew of the coastal city, completely built up from marblestone. In the horizon, several strange shapes seemed to float in the skies. They were the flying ziarothian cities they have heard much about.

Two large winged figures, encased in metalic armors, walked to meet the delegates. One of the federal escort guards seemed ready to stop them, but ambassador Kalibura stoped him with a slight wave of hand.

General Voicer Augustus Kistkoffen walked a few steps to meet the impossing angelic soldiers.

"In the name of the Federation of Technocratic Repblics, I bear words of salutations towards you, angelic people of Zigaroth" He said, with a short bowing of head.

"Where are the zigarothian delegates?" Asked ambassador Kalibura in a low voice to Chancellor Allamand, who was standing next to him "Are we going to be welcomed by two winged boxes of brass? How unapropiate" He stated, clearly offended.

Allamand gave him a cold gaze "The last thing we need is an international incident due to your complaints. We are the first outsiders to ever set foot on Zigaroth since their arrival to Sisgardia, and we can not risk to ruin it because of formalities. Now, berhave, and be patient"

The delegation stood there, under the shadow of the large guards, awaiting to be recieved by the zigarothians.

"Be welcomed, honorable representatives of the Federation of Technocratic Republics, to the holy lands of Zigaroth -came the gentle voice of a woman from somwhere behind the hulking archangel soldiers- My name is Thilea, and I have come here on behalf our great lady Alexandra"

A beautifull and lean figure, with a magnificent pair of white feathered wings growing from her back. Her face was completely painted with white, and two black lines grew from each one of her eyes up to the lower part of her chin. Her long and thin body was covered by an extremely light folded robe, growing up to the floor, and leaving her arms uncovered. A long, silverine hair fell like a quicksilver waterfall through her back, almost touching her feets.

She looked down as she walked near the Federal Voicer "The lady has expressed her deepest apologies for not being able to be here in your much expected arrival. Her current conditions are rather...unnapropiate" Said Thilea, with a grim tone in her still melodious voice "However -she continued, now with her face up and with a smile full of perfectly white teeths- she will meet you once we arrive at her palaces in Massidia. Now -she extended her right arm towards a large spherical cristal, that rested above a short monolithic structure-[/i] if you would follow me"

"Much obliged, lady Thilea" Said Augustus, with a bow of his bearded head. He then turned to face his companions "Lady Thilea will lead us to meet lady Alexandra. Let us go now"

The four delegates then went after Thilea, following her into the strange cristaline structure she had pointed a few moments ago, eager to finnaly meet Zigaroth's head of state, a meeting that will most likely become the first and most important deal of exchanges between the two nations.

Meanwhile, at Adranor City's Security Ministerium, FTR:

"Sire, we have bad news" Informed a blue-robe dressed man, after comming out from a nearby elevator into the Security Chancellor's office.

"Yes, what would they be?" He said, without moving his eyes from the infopad he was reading.

"They are from the results of the investigation of the last incident between Harbringers and Judgers, early this week"

The Chancellor rose his eyes and gazed the man "Ah, yes, the investigation. What kind of bad news have grown from it?"

"One that could endanger the diplomatic emboy sent this morning to Zigaroth" Answered the man.

"Off with word rides. Get to the point" Ordered the Chancellor.

The man nodded "Yes sire. We have found connections between the Harbringers and a suspected revolutionary force between the angelic nation. And there is a high possibility that eco-terrorist have been sent to attemp an attack on the delegates" Informed.

Chancellor Veacras Askadiar struck the wooden table with his clenched fits "Twisting cogs, the Consulate will be furious with this event! Are you sure the information is completely trustable?"

"Well... -the man made a short pause- not entirely. However, we belive that it would be wise to take the apropiate means. These eco-terrorists are capable of awfull acts, and the delegation could..."

He was interrupted by Veacras "I know very well what are these Harbringers capable of. But unless the dangers have been fully confirmed, we can not risk to act, let alone inform the high commands" He took a deep breath, and then continued "Put our gatherers on full alert, and by the thousand blasting forges, make the confirmation soon"

Said this, the blue robed man nodded and returned to the elevator, leaving the Chancellor to his own thoughts.

As both Thilea and the delegates stepped over the delicate-looking crystal sphere, sounds seemed to dissipate around them. When the last of the delegates was inside, the opening that served as door sealed, and the sphere became brighter.
For anyone outise, it seemed as a small sun, slowly raising above the marblestone buildings of Port Sidoccia. But for the ones inside, the sphere almost seemed to dissapear under their feets, showing the wonderfull sight of the white city below.

Once in the air, at about thee hundred feets above the ground, the sphere turned. The landscape of the nation grew before their eyes, the distant figures of floating cities showing here and there near the horizon. Below, an endless mass of green forests grew all around, with only the ground based coastal city raising among the wooden sea.

"We are heading toward that city -said Thilea, pointing at the largest shape in the horizon, from which a clearly noticeable beam of light was projected constantly towards the sky, until becoming invisible in the cerulean vault- Massidia, where lady Alexandra currently rests"

Delegate Kalibura seemed troubled by the almost ethereal glassy cage he was in, gazing the ground far below from time to time.
Thilea smiled to him "Do not worry, my lord, the sphere is more ressistant than it seems. It shall keep us safe until our arrival. Now, please enjoy the ride"

Thilea made a wave with her right hand and touched the surface of the sphere with her fingers. Inmediately, the sphere emmited a low humming sound and began moving, accelerating slowly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Is the delegation here already? Have they arrived?" Asked the lean figure resting in the gran bed, with a trembling voice, her darkened gray eyes lost in their blindness.

The figure of Septhienna walked and sat besides her, taking the resting woman's arm with extreme care "No, mother, they have not. Thilea has been sent to recieve them in your name. They shoul arrive soon" Said, her face smiling, but lacking of any sign of happiness.

The blind lady smiled, her eyes trying to search for the hand touching her in a vain attemp "They will help us, my child, they will help us, once they arrive. Our worries will be over"

Septhienna made no motion nor articulated a word.

From the half closed ivory door of the dark room, another female figure emerged, carring two glass vials, filled with a blue substance.

Septhienna turned, with a grim tone "What do you want? Can't you see we are talking?" She spat.

The newly arrived angel lowered her eyes "I am sorry. I have come to deliver lady Alexandra's eye treatment. I must interrupt your activities, lady Septhienna"

The alluded left her mother's arm to rest atop the bed again "Very well. Do what you must -she said, and rose to walk out of the room- but her eyes are blind beyond cure already, far beyond cure" Were her last words, lost in her walk and never heard.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sphere now was very near the floating citadel. Far below, a huge white structure rose from among the trees, a tall tower surrounded by twisting lesser ones, coiling around the main structure as gigantic ivory snakes. From the highest point of the tower, a yellowish beam of light was projected towards the city above, passing through it and then raising skywards until becoming invisible.

The city, Massidia, was a magnificent sight. Composed of countless levels of marblestone, ivory and gold, slowly rotating with the beam of light as it's axis. It grew three miles towards the sky, hundreds of delicate structures covering it's lean figure. At it's very top, a wide bowl-like structure grew, and barely notisable waterfalls rained from it's edges.

As they flew towards it, they crossed a pair of overwhelmingly large arcs, as tall as the city itself, crowned by huge towers, around which smaller ones floated in circles.

The sphere finnaly came to a halt, and began descending towards a large open area, around which beautifull gardens grew. It stopped above a platform just like the ones they first walked above in Port Sidoccia.

Thilea touched the sphere once again, and it popped as it was made of air. She and the delegation were now standing over the platform.

"Welcome to Massidia" She said.

The delegation quietly walked down from the platform they were on. The sight was amazing, as the magnificent towers stretched upwards, leaving huge open spaces between them.

"A nice change from Adranor" Said happily delegate Ijohlahn, her eyes traveling through the spectacular wiew.

Ambassador Kalibura, on the other hand, did not look so amazed "These primitive buildings could fall over our heads in any moment. I do not feel safe under so many tons of stone and crude engineering"

Voicer Augustus did not pay attention to these last words, and instead walked to Thilea's side "Now, miss Thilea, could you please take us to meet lady Alexandra? We have very important matters to discuss with her, and we would not wihs to keep her waiting for us longer than she has already had"
13-10-2003, 02:12
"Of course, lord Augustus. Now, if you would be so kind as to follow me, I will take you to lady Alexandra" She said, making a wave of hand towards the rest of the delegation.

The group began walking between the impossing towers that flanqued the large gardened plaza they were in. Magnificent hanging gardens fell from their sides as a true verdant waterfall, nearly reaching the marblestone floors, hundreds of feets below.
Ahead, at nearly one hundred meters, a huge stair of white stone grew upwards, spiraling in gentle arcs until sunking into a large hoovering building. Through the very center of the stairs, a circular waterfall plumeted down into the airy abyss, dissapearing as rain while it fell.

Thilea was about to turn towards the delegates, when a loud scream came from lady's Ijohlahn mouth "Watch out!"

Augustus and Thilea were just beggining to turn towards the delegate, when a green hooded jumped over them from behind a nearby statue, carring one long katar in each hand. The polished blades shone with bright light as they swang towards Thilea's neck.
The two blades dug deep into it, one from each side, their bloody tips emerging from the other. As a gory fountain, Thilea's neck was instantly turned into a cascade of blood.
As soon as the assassin took the blades from ther neck, she fell on ehr knees, to then collapse over the now darkened white floor, her face striking the stony blocks, breaking bones and teeths.

With the hooded figure now gone, apparently at least, Fistkoffen, who ahd fell on his back after the onslaught, crawled to the angel's body. He turned her upwards, only to be splashed by the red fountain of blood that her neck had become. He gently closed her eyes with his hand, which had remained open wide in surprise and could never finish the gesture.

The rest of the delegation hurried to get over them. Ambassador Kalibura kneeled before Thilea.

"It is useless. That bastard evicerated her neck with those blades" Said Augustus, standing with the help of delegate Allamand.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fistkoffen cleaned the blood from his hands with a yellow napkin from one of his robe's inner pockets, while staring at Thilea's corpse.
To his side, Allamand attempted in vain to search for the assassin, who was no where in sight.

"That green hooded man -began Ijolahn, steping behind Allamand- and the weapons. They seem troublingly familiar..."

"Yes, eco-terrorists, dear Ijolahn. The same gaian bastards that have plagued like rats the Federation" Answered Allamand, his eyes turning to the woman.

She seemed troubled "But why here? And...why her?"

Allamand shrugged "I know as much as you do"

Fistkoffen walked to them "Well, it is clear that our visit here has been inexorably interrupted by this rather unfortunate incident. The Consulate should be informed of this at once"

"And our visit here canceled, of course -came Kalibura's voice- We can not risk to remain any more on these lands"

Allamand turned to him "How acertive, Irkas. Now, how do you propose we get out of here? I doubt we can manage to use the sphere we came in, unless you have magical abilities that I am unaware of"

"There is no need to fall into sarcastic arguments -Fistkoffen reproached- We have a very complex issue between hand, and we need to get out of here inmediately"
Said this, he searched his pockets for his infopad, on which he quickly selected a number of options to begin satelite comunication. But all he got was a low, continuous tone.
"Nothing -he said- The 'pad is not recieving answer from the satellites. And since we are located right under the local sisgardian net, my only asumption is that we are being blocked" He closed the 'pad and put it back into his pocket "Someone want us here, and I doubt that it has anything possitive about it. At leats, for our side, that's it"
