The Xanthalian has repealed all Legal Torture laws in Xanthal, ending a twenty year period where the crimes of murder, rape, and torture were punished by torturing the perpetrator to death. The sentence for these crimes has reverted back to it's classic form as standard punishment for violent crimes as established in Xanthalian law.

The fledgling nation of Sydia welcomes the absolishment of legal torture and hopes other nations who practice this act shall follow.

In DT, punishments for murder include:

- Crucifixion
- Being beaten to death
- Placement in a room where acid drips from the cieling. Slow, panful
- Meat grinder

Sydia: You are a nation of high morals. We approve.

Esamopia: Yes you may. Standard punishment for violent criminals in Xanthalian law is as follows:
A: Standard re-education term to attempt behavior modification. If successful, go to B. If not, go to C.
B: Release of perpetrator back into society.
C: Perpetrator is given two options: Death or exile to Mirfak III. Choice is carried out.

Arribastan: Ethics do not concern us. Resources are wasted in the torture process, and nothing is accomplished in the end but the death of the convict. Re-education provides them the opportunity to become functional members of society, and if that fails we eliminate them as a problem quickly and efficiently by either killing them or exiling them.

Kecha: Not likely, but that was a concern.

Philopolis: We must disagree. We give the judicial branch that right, in limited circumstances.

Dark terror: Yes, but DT is known for it's unproductive, inefficient, and cruel punishments.

Arribastan (2): You would say that...

Our Capital laws are simple and we have narrowed down what is punishable by death. There used to be 250 offenses punishable by death.

Rape: is punished by stoning to death in the public square.
Murder: Death by hanging
Slave trading: Hanging in gibbit outside the city gates intil death
Teason: Death by hang drawing quartering.
Cloning and genetic engeering:Death by beheading

Also you can get burned at stake by the church for crimes agaist the church.

Torture is praticed by the noblity and guard officals but nobody is tortured to death.

Whats wrong with Torture? We publicly whip people for crimes and all capital offenses are punished by Impaling in such a way its takes them a while to die.
