Sydia

The nation of Sydia is a new nation founded in the North Pacific. It has a strong economy and superb political freedoms, although civil rights are average this is set to change.
The nation was founded on freedom and democracy, is generally against war and favours the dimplomatic approach.
Recent events in the nations short history are:
a) Democracy is not forced
This is seen as a breach of freedom.
b) The (then) national animal, the hamster's (replaced by the peregrin falcon, because they're much cooler) population was starting to become a problem and so a culling program has been initiated for the benfit of agriculture and quality of life in Sydia. The government was considering entering the rodent into the human food chain but for health and morality reasons this was not done.
c) Freedom of speech was upheld, as it is one of the basic ideals of the nations
Currently being discussed is the issue of selling organs, on which the govenment is currently undecided.
The nation is a member of the UN and voted no to the current resolution for reasons of morality.
So...there ya go.
Views on the nation an the current issue are more than welcome
