Scientific Breakthroughs Available for Allied Countries Only

10-10-2003, 18:41
The Science Academy of Soviet Amazonia has developed a particle beam weapon. The new particle cannon designated PC Mk1 fires energized particles at the enemy at near light speeds and causes large amounts of damage. Also near completion is an EMP cannon which fires a directed electromagnetic pulse which although doing little physical damage fries all electrical systems within the target. In development for the space fleet is a new engine which uses high energy plasma to propell itself at high speeds and is powered by a fusion reactor, the newest weapon under development is the Pin-Poing Singularity Cannon or PPSC which fires a singularity at an enemy vessel causing immense damage. Any country who allies itself with the Republic of Soviet Amazonia will have access to these and other scientific developments.

OOC: i hope you have a list of countermeasures available at least OOC so that no one will think it's godmodding... like say, what can one do to block the EMP? The Particle Beam? And the singularity?

I think its nearly impossible to stop the singularity, I'm not sure how because it is what is found at the center of a black hole, its highly condensed matter, space time warps around it and the laws of physics break down, but it only lasts for a short time, just long enough to ram into the enemy ship, but to stop the particle cannon you may have to electrically charge your ship to the opposite charge of the particles, if I'm firing protons, which have a positive charge, you'd give your ship a negative charge to repel it, if I'm firing electrons, which have a negative charge, you'd give your ship a positive charge, but if I fire neutrons, which have no charge, you can't really stop easily can you, I suppose if you had a strong enough armour you could survive it, like my carbon nanofiber composite armour which is incredibly strong. As for the EMP cannon you would have to use some kind of faradays cage to protect the electronics but its very difficult.

Physics attack! Same charge would repel, not opposite. If you're dealing with energy weapons, force fields and shields might stop a particle weapon, depending on the design.

On the EMP. Use fiber-optics and simply harden your computers. The RL USA (and most other powers) already harden their weapons against EMP, and they're basically immune to almost any strength EMP.

With the singularity... you just can't stop it, without similarly reality-bending weapons. That weapon might set off the "godmod" alerts on the screen, though.

Well then have some sort of charge time or cooling time or aiming time or something so that it's not a godmod... as if the fact that you went into a black hole and grabbed this was not godmoddy enough :)

Care to explain HOW you got your hands on a "singularity"?

Oh, and he's right, EMP only disrupts unshielded electrical circuits...

OOC: Personally I will ignore anyone using singularity weapons. I don't mind Partical Cannon and EMP weapons (assuming the nation is Far Future tech) but creating singularities is just not on.

EMP will only work depending on how strong the EMP is, but generally most electronics are protected. Iuthian Technology has be protected becuase we use Magnetics to fire rounds at high speeds [see Gauss Weapons].

If the EMP is strong enough, it could get past some shielding, from what I understand of it all, but it would have to be alot and you would have to protect your own electronics.

I got the singularity by using large particle accelerators, I'm sorry that I made a mistake about the charge thing, I was typing to quickly to think, and you're right, it does take a period of time to fire off another singularity, about 20-30 minutes depending on the ship class, I don't like god modders either, never really dealt with them but I don't like those type of people, if it ever seems as though I am doing that, tell me and I will stop, somtimes I get carried away. Now, if any of you would like to become allies I will share my technology with you.

I don't know you well enough to ally with you, but I am happy to say I will remain peaceful. We do not need this additional technology* for the time being so thanks all the same.

*It's too high tech for Iuthia, I'm only 2050+ in game time.

OOC: Unfortunately, Kaukolastan is modern/near-future nation. If I whipped out particle beams of singularity generators, I would be wallowing in godmode. (That's right, I'd be even past "godmod" and into the forbidden "godmode".) However, I do have a far-future nation called the TRSN. Unfortunately, they use mainly Gauss Tech, and I try to keep the tech tree "pure". Cya around in the far-future.

I have made a list of possible allies to my nation, if I have made a mistake please inform me, although I hope that you will become my ally, I may be new but I do have a good imagination and would be very grateful for any help I recieve from senoir members. Here is a list of nations I have seen whom I believe may want to make an alliance with me.

The People's Republic of Galdania

The Federation of Independent Planets

The United Socialist States of Leninist Workers

The Empire of Modern War

The Rogue Nation of Toahno

Also if you feel that singularity cannons are an unfair weapon I will omit their existence, please tell me what forms of weapons you believe are fair to be used and I will comply with those standards.

Yes, Singularity cannons are the only really far-fetched idea on here.

How Large would my military be if I had a total population of 1.078 billion people, I'm not sure how to figure it out mathematically so say if my military constitutes about 3%-5% of my population, also the military is completely voluntary.

Anyway, 3-5% is still VERY high, 3-5% would be wartime military.

YOu have a calculator on your computer, figure about .5 to 1%

It would be about 1 percent of my total population, dangit, I forgot how to figure out how to find 1% of 1.078 billion.
