Kekko Channel News

"The current government of Kekkosmaa released a statement today, that the first elections in Kekkosmaa's history will be held in October 27th*. Four hundred people will be elected as representetives to the parliament, and the new government will be formed in a month after the elections.

'Like I said, I believe this people is now ready to take care of it's own business. The new rule, good or bad, will be chosen democratically. Who knows, maybe we will even have presidential elections soon', commented mr. Kekkonen, President of Kekkosmaa.

Though there is still some time before the elections, the resolution can be speculated pretty accurately. According to the gallup we made, the Communist Party is very unlikely to get a single seat. The Conservatives are going to get a pretty good amount of votes, but the real power is probably going to be shared by the Center Party and the Liberals. Then there are some parties that are going to get 10-20 seats, more or less. A party that is likely to get at least one seat is VanhisSuomalaiset. They have the famous boxer, Tony Halmis, in their ranks.

Choose the best from the candidates, and remember to vote. Kekko Channel will show the elections - live, of course!

And now for the other headlines.."

[OOC:
* "October 27th" - today or tomorrow, probably :P

Hmm, this has absolutely no base in real Finnish politics - just made some parties (they're pretty original, eh).]

Kekko Channel LIVE - The Special Elections Report

"This is Martti Halonen. You are watching the Kekko Channel LIVE - The Special Elections Report", said the man whose face had appeared on the screen.

"And I'm Liisa Ihmemaalainen", said the woman sitting next to him. "The elections are indeed doing well - about 85% of those entitled to vote have cast or are going to cast their vote. Remember, if you have not still used your opportunity to affect the future of Kekkosmaa, you still have over three hours!"

"Well, Liisa", Martti said, "who did you vote for?"

"I gave my vote to Erik Piirakka", replied Liisa. "You know, I almost voted for Tevaus. I think that guy has some really good ideas and opinions. Well, what about you? The Liberals, I guess?"

"Yep. Urho Tärkeäpuro has been my favorite for a long time. But hey, we have a reporter downstairs. I just received word that he has Tony Halmis there. Let's see what Tony has to say!"

"Ok, I am Sami Joenperä. This big dude standing next to me is Tony Halmis. Tony is VanhisSuomalaiset's candidate, and there's a strong possibility that he's going through and with him at least one or two other candidates of VanhisSuomalaiset. So, Tony, how are you doing?"

Then the man that was standing next to the reporter started to speak. He was at least 2.1 meters tall and had no hair. He was the famous boxer, Tony "Hunni" Halmis, widely known as a really tough guy.

"I'm tough", Tony answered. "And the voters aren't stupid. They know enough to not vote for those socialists or liberals. They know that I'm the only one they should vote for. I'll make sure that there's going to be a straight line between those fucking niegers and us Finns. Hey, see ya later, just saw a bunch of fans who want my autograph."

And the he disappeared.

"Ok, back to Martti and Liisa."

"Thank you. Now.."

And they talk for a long time. They spent hours talking about who's PROBABLY going to be elected - and after the citizens have almost fallen asleep because of boredom, the results are finally published:

Liberal Party or Lib, 35% (70 seats)
Center Party or Kesk, 30% (60 seats)
Social Democrats or SDP, 15% (30 seats)
Conservative Party, 14% (28 seats)
Christian Democrats or KD (4 seats)
Green League or Vihr (3 seats)
Sweet-Sugatic Party, (2 seats)
VanhisSuomalaiset, (2 seats)
Mixturists, (1 seat)

The leader of Sweet-Sugatic Party was very happy of their success: "Damn good! We're gonna make sure that there's going to be PLENTY of work for dentists. Free candy, of course. It's a good thing we we're wise enough to give the voters free candy. Hope we're gonna get to the cabinet as well."

As a matter of fact, they were. When the government was formed in a few weeks, it was formed by the Liberals, the Center Party and the Sweet-Sugatic Party.

OOC: Had to complete this quickly :P

The Democratic Republic of Longism, far away across the world from Kekkosmaa, is happy to see democracy taking its rightful place. We support any democratic government and hope that someday the world will be united with free elections for all.
