Mikhayl Ruzhyo announces Space Project!
The Coldorran President has announced that the government intend to spend some of the nations fair military income on developing a new space program.
INF asked Ruzhyo why he felt the nation needed to do this:
"To expand the Coldorran Empire. There are so many unused resources in space which could be used to improve the living standards of every Coldorran in our nation!"
The Communist Revolutionary Party spoke out against the Liberal Socialist plans, calling them 'a great neglect of our domestic services.'
"Living standards could be improved simply by using the money put into this project in other areas, such as the economic sector."
This has not deterred the President, however it may be crucial in the coming election.

Building has begun of the Bemühung (Endeavour) Space Facility.
It's inital tasks will be:
The development of a colony ship capable of carrying a huge amount of colonists, sufficient armament to defend itself and a docking bay to carry space fighters.
The development of space fighters to allow us to defend our territory in space.
Construction of the facility is nearly completed. Our first ship should be ready in approx. a month. It will not feature hyperdrives, but will be capable of sustaining an orbit for up to a year (ooc - give or take).
Despite major protests by Communist pressure groups, construction of the 'True Socialist' was completed and it has successfully taken off on it's month long mission.

Bit difficult since we're not allowed to manufacture any more nuclear warheads until at least 14 years time but we're going to research the technology just in case.

The True Socialist has completed it's test mission without a hitch and is now being refitted for an exploration/diplomatic mission.

Try putting more work into one every now and again, and you'll be on to a winner. 8)
