King Wasterin II died of old age, unmarried, and alone in his private estates in the north. He is known as the "Hermit King" because he never actually governed Aerion directly. His Privy Council, led by the Chancellor of the Kingdom did so. His nephew's coronation will take place in the National Cathedral in a small, less public ceremony. In the strange manner of his uncle, he will have the High Priestess of the Temple of the Eclipsed Sun coronate him. This group is super secretive, and has been for years. No one knows the members other than the High Priestess herself, and her guards go into spy level evasion tactics to keep her location from being known. The only thing known is the name, and that her guards wear black hooded robes while she wears white hooded robes. She is supposedly the daughter of the last High Priestess who crowned King Wasterin II. It is indeed a strange situation, but it is a state secret that will not be found out any time soon. His nephew has chosen to take the name Wasterin III.
