Corporate Lands introduces itself

10-10-2003, 02:06
OOC: First of all, yes this is a new nation, but I'm not new to NS. I just decided to see how running and RPing this nation would work out.

IC:

The nation of Corporate Lands is a nation run by five large corporations. Each takes a large section of the population, which is considered under their jurasdiction, and those corporations are like little governments. They each have their own government, police force, laws, military, etc. The corporations each have their own CEO, and have a council of the five CEOs. One of each of them is elected every five years to become the new Head of the nation, who is like the figurehead leader of the country.

----

We send a greeting to all the nations outside our borders who wish to introduce themselves. We seek alliances with such corporate-minded nations as ourselves, and protection from the marauders of the world,a s we know they exist out there, and have no qualms as to crushing a small nations such as ours. Currently I am the only elected CEO, but even as we speak polls are being taken in each of my four associates' nations to see who will be the four representatives of their respective corporations and governments. The four people predicted to win are ...

Samuel Trenton ---------- Black Sun Corporation
Lisa O'Conell ------------- Intrasoft
Tim F. Sharise ----------- Gearware Incorporated
Alexa Integral ----------- Wand of Truth

I nyself have already been elected, as no-one else wanted the position I currently occupy, CEO of Time Company. We seek to better ourselves and our nations, in the coming months and years we will face.

It is a distinct pleasure to welcome another land, from one who like yours, practices what I like to call Corporate Nationalism.

My company, the PrattCo Conglomerate, can offer yours wardship and protection. But like all things, this doesn't come without cost; and I offer you very reasonable terms. You could merge your company into the Conglomerate, which would allow you to run things as you see fit, while combining two halves into making a greater whole. You personally would gain a seat on the Board of Directors of the Conglomerate, made up of hundreds of corporate CEO's such as yourself, and your nation would come into alliance with that of Santa Barbara as well.

As you know, its a rough world out there, and you might want to consider this as the logical next step. The Conglomerate provides security and order for all, and yet maintains competition, allowing free market capitalism to work as it should.

If you like, write back and we can discuss terms for a meeting and contract. I eagerly await your response.

Hmm ... I am intrigued by your offer, indeed. However, as my associates have not as of yet been appointed, I cannot accept your offer yet. I will discuss this matter in depth with the elected representatives of the various corporations, to discuss the pros and cons of this alliance. I am honoured by your offer, deeply and truly. I cannot believe you would offer this chance to me and my nation.

The elected representatives have gone the way my intelligence men predicted they would. Trenton, O'Conell, Sharise and Integral are the four elected representatives of my four sister corporations. I will discuss this matter with them, and hope to report back to you quickly with a positive message.
