The landscape:

The FTR is characterized by three main geographical/climatic areas: The central, massive Worldspire Mountain Range, the easter dessertic plains of Sheffranna and the wide and low alttitude north-western Greenlands.

Due to a wide scale urbanization, there is no longer free land on the nation, with the sole exception of the high peaks of the central mountains.
The common landscape is either one covered by sky-reaching buildings or monotonous and extensive bioharvesting facilities.
There is no ground in the usual sence of the world. Instead, a three miles deep, nationwide structure, known as the Support Matrix, occupies the space once used by rock and earth. Above it, all the buildings of the nation rest.

The coastal line is also dominated by structures. Some of the ancient tidal wave energy facilities still cover most of the north-easter coastline, although their use has fallen dramatically. The rest of the coast is either home to deep-sea reaching robotic fisheries, algae harvesting facilities and water de salinization plants.

There are no rivers, and the few that once existed have been completely wipped out both due to industrial use and the incredible water needs of the cities.

The climate:

Centuries of uncontroled industrial activity in the past changed the climate in most of the nation forever. Mass deforestation, and the following extintion of all forested lands quickly turned a large amount of territory into a scalding dessert, the one later known as Kalutar Desert, and that occupies most of the Sheffranna governorship. This event drasctically twisted the national climate, which was originaly much warmer. This, summed up with the natural coldness of the region, made the climate quite ungratefull, specially for native lifeforms.

Currently, the state of the climate has few trascendence on how the nation develops, as it has became completely independent from it and it’s effects. Rains are very uncommon, as are clouds, due to the lack of moisture in the air, since there is few to none evaporation. The nation is, however, struck by heavy windstorms during the hottest period of the year, mostly produced by difference of air pressures above the Worldspire Mountains.

The nation is divided on nine main Governorships, which are then divided into 23 smaller Shires. Each Governorship is ruled by one of the Magistrates, while the Shires fall under jurisdiction of Governors.

The Technocratic Council is the religious and ideologic hart of the nation. Although it does not hold any constitutional power, every other institution in the Federation is very carefully to not walk in the opposite direction of the Council, for it could mean severe social/economic problems.
The Council was created shortly after the unification of the Republics, in order to replace the power seat once occupied by the Mechanical Magisterium. It came to power through a religious reform, in which the ancient Machnaussers and their clockwork god Meknoss were no longer seen as the caretakers of the nation. Instead, the Technocracism took strenght, under the ideology of a colective pursue of science and knowledge.

The Council has two main heads: First Speaker Istab von Frieditch and Pontifix Magnus Atheros Atherior. The first one is the actual founder of the Council, and, along with the Low Speakers, the ones who uploaded their whole minds and personality into the GigaTek, a massive supercomputer that serves as the brain of the Council, and seeks to become the single most greatest databank ever consieved.
On the other hand, Atheros Atherior remains as the more “public” firgure of the Council, and the head of the religious order. He has a wide influense on political and public matters, although most belive that he is no more than a puppet of the Council’s Spekers.

The most important ruling body of the nation, the Supreme Consulate is the core element of the state. Originaly created as a coordination institution among the unified Republics, the Supreme Consulate quickly gained a vast power and control above practically all matters and issues of the Federation.
It’s head figure, the Grand Consul, holds power above the whole Chamber of Ministries, and has executive veto on all matters voted by either the House of Magistrate and the Circle of Shires. It can not, however, use the veto on resolutions that have been aproved by both institutions.
Gran Consuls are elected by a General Assembly every 8 years, which is voted by the 23 Governors and the Moderator of Shires.

The House was the original mean of government before the Republics unified into the Federation. It acts as a general Senate, in which the democratically elected Magistrates vote nationwide resolutions. Local resolutions that act upon specific Governorship are then passed over to the Circle of Shires for aproval.
The House is also overseen by a High Magistrate, who is elected by the Magistrates from a group of candidates proposed by the Supreme Consulate.

The Circle of Shires acts much like a Chamber of Deputies in comparison to the House of Magistrate. It is composed by 23 Governors, democratically elected by voted representatives on each of the Shires, and one Moderator of Shires, who acts as representative for the Capital Governorship.

One of the most ancient institutions of the Federation, and the Republics before it. It was originaly intended to become a regulating institution for the control of machines region wide. As centuries went through, though, it became the true center of the Republics.
Due to the near fanatism with which the ancient Souther Sisgardians pursued the creation of new machines, the Magisterium reached techncially divine levels.
However, the true divinification came after the Iron Wars, the half century long conflict that nearly destroyed the Republics against each other. The Machnaussers were militaristic figures, that turned their very bodies into machines of steel and steam to achieve inmortality. And they achieved it, certainly, becoming the gods of the ancient times. However, as they became too powerfull, some circles of society feared for a takeover of the Republics, and decided to seal them down deep under the earth.

The Mechanical Magisterium was finnaly replaced by the Technocratic Council on it’s religious/political influence, although it remained as the central institution of all matters related to machinery, invetions and industry.

The power of the federal jurisprudence falls upon the Martial Courts. Spawned from the original courts intended to judge military actions, the Courts evolved to become a nationwide organism, independent from all political, religious and military spheres.
It is, however, overseen by the Grand Tribunals, who hold high military grades, without having ever served on any of the arms of the armed forces.

The Foreign Ministry is the one, as the name suggest, in charge of all the external and multilateral affairs. It is also in charge of overseeing all direct and indirect relations of the Federation with both the WTE and the SFN.

The Defense and Security Ministry is made from two groups, one political and another military. The three heads of the three divisions of the armed forces hold, along with the Security Chancellor, the words on how the nation will and is defended. They have a complete independece from the Supreme Consulate, House of Magistrates and Circle of Shires on all issues, with the exception of offensive undertakings and all matters related to funds.

This Ministry works closely with the Ministry of Economics, and is in charge of making the Federation work. They are, however, heavily controled by the higher institutions, specially the House, on issues related to fund divertion and the ongoings of several of the choices made here.

The Ministry of Economics is in charge of keeping the ever-growing and overwhelmingly active comercial and financial aspecst of the nation in a good shape. It has full control above the banking areas, which is the only aspect of the economy that has not private allowance or participation.

The most highly regarded Ministry of the nation, it has prioritry of the first level on all national matters. Overseen by the Rex Provost, who is in time followed by the Preparats of the three main currents of science, the institution holds an independence of powers of the level of the Defense Ministry, to the point of having it’s own voting chamber for resolutions, maded by the four Technopilias, the three Preparats and the Rex Provost. In their hands fall the grand task of technological development for the Federation.

The Political Ideologies and Parties:

Ideologies and politics in the Federation are mostly homogeneous. A large percentage of the political arena supports the nation’s main goals of knowledge through science, a thriving economy through liberal capitalism and the general stability of the nation.
Although the more pro-armament groups have gained power, the ideologies are still centered around a peace-through-diplomacy system.

Technocrasists: Group composed solely of religious figures. Although the religion they represent is the main of the nation, they hold little overall influense, mostly due to their imperialistic ideologies.

Agenda: Science-driven Opressive Imperial Government and Controled Economy

Independent Corporate Union: One of the most influent political groups in the Federation. This party is mainly composed by representatives of the nation’s largest and most important corporations.

Agenda: Deep State-private sector relation and NeoLiberal Capitalist Economy

Neo Democratic Party: Pro-democracy group, mainly concerned on political freedom and wide populance representation. Although they are not opposed by any group in particular, the NDP tends to raise polemic troubles due to their sometimes absurd proposals about democratic models.

Agenda: Anti Restrictive Statist model and full democratic representation.

Technocrats United: Although the name could suggest otherwise, the TU has no relation with the Technocrasists, and is instead closely attached to the ICU. The TU mainly represent pro-technology capitalists, who see no use of human labor when a machine can do it better. They are the major political figure of the Federation, owning many seats in all institutions.

Agenda: Technocracy-based NeoLiberal Capitalist Economy

Supra Humanica: One of the parties labbeled as “revolutionary”, the SH is a small, relatively new group of anti-genetic activist, whose main goal aims for the total destruction of the ones they call “unworthty ones”. This would be all forms of genetically modified human beings, such as ProdClones and WarClones. Although not as violent as other groups such as the Harbringers and the Judgers of Tek, several anti-biotech sabotage actions have been attached to this party.

Agenda: Pro-Human Rights and Anti-Human Biogenetic Engineering.

Free Psy Conglomerate: Spawned shortly after the so called Psy Emancipation, the group of the mentaly gifted became organized into a growing and influent party. Although seens as unpleasant figures by some circles, they have undoubtely reached a spot of power inside some of the federal institutions. As they tend to have no clear political ideology, more than protecting their own kin, who would be all the by-products of the long ago failed PsyTek Project, they do not interefere too much on the political arena of other groups.

Agenda: Defense and Protection of the Psy kin and Pro-Democrats.

The Inteligentsia: Group of old-fashioned, monarquic, pro-culture conservatives, the Inteligentsia remains as one of the oldest parties, albeit of very little power, mostly due to their anachronic ideologies. They belive that the power should fall and remain above a single royal figure, and through him, extensal cultural reforms should put the nation at his feets, all the time encicled by the nobility of the enlightened ones, also known as the Inteligentsia. From there the name.

Agenda: Highly Conservative, Pro-Monarchy Culture and Tradition driven state.

Harbringers: The only well-organized and politically viable eco-terrorist group. Although their power is little, their weapons are many, so they are closely followed by the security groups of the nation. However, due to their mafia-like way of undercover actions, they are hard to track and balme, making their most important political figures practically untochables. The Harbringers are against the overwhelming power of the industrial and economic groups of the Federations, as well as blaming them for the destruction of the entire national ecosystem. This group’s main ideals are to wipe out the Federation from existance, as they feel that they have failed on their mission to protect the Gaia.

Agenda: Anti-Economic and Eco-Terrorist driven cleasing of the nation.

Judgers of Tek: The darkest and less known ideologic party of the Federation, the Judgers act as the complete opposite of the Harbringers. They seek and destroy every “ecological vermin” that oppose the free development of science and industry. Although not attached to any political group, many belive that the Technocrasists are strong supporters of this group. Their representation on the political arena is scarce, although everybody knows that any action against them must be considered two times, as for they may find targets on absolutely any ideologic group.

Agenda: Anti-Ecologists and Pro-Technologists, sworn enemies of the Harbringers



The Troops and Weapons of the Federation:

Ground Vehicles:

-Mobile Hypermatter Spheres Launcher: Heavy, slow paced tank, equiped with a powerfull Hypermatter Spheres Barrage Gun. Equiped with a heavy Neutronium Armor and Antimatter Engines.

-Avenger class Land Carriers: Massive hovering carrier, empowered by powerfull HP-HW engines that keep it aloft. Capable to carrying up to 600,000 tons of cargo and able to maintain up to 30,000 troops and crew for six months. Equiped with 10 Heavy Phaser Turrets, 4 Triumph Missile Launchers and 1 Stasis Gun.

-Alethor class Assaul Vessel: Medium sized, fast paced assault vehicle. Powered by a HP-UB engine, Reduced Neutronium Armor, Two-VePhaser Cannons, 1 Tachyon Discharger and an Energy Shield MKI.

-Nomad class Land Transport: Small sized, high speed transport, capable of transporting up to 20 men at speeds of 350 mph. Powered by a HP-UB engine and Nanosteel armor. Equiped with an ECM system.

-Marathon class Heavy Tank: Heavy and medium speed multipurpose tank, armed with 3 Tachyon Dischargers, ECM system, Carbonic Shield MKI, HP-UB engine and a Reduced Neutronium Armor.

-Hyperion Land Probe: Ultra fast, unarmored automated land probe. Equiped with a light HO Antimatter engine and a WD Scanning Array, this probe travels at high speeds, hovering at half a meter over the ground.

-Leviathan class Movile Organic Command Vessel: Super heavy organic hoover command vessel, keept aloft with heavy HP-UB engines. Can transport up to 300 men, and has an autonomy of 4 weeks. Equiped with ECM and ECCM system, 2 Savior Missile Turrets, 2 Tachyon Dischargers, 5 Medium Phaser Turrets, Carbonic Shield MKI, Heavy Neutronium Inner Armor and Regenerative OrgaArmor.

-Sand Scorpion class Organic Assault Tank: Medium sized hoover organic assault tank, equiped with 2 Heavy VePhasers, 4 Light VePhasers, Regenerative OrgaArmor and a Continuous Antimatter engine.

-Fury class Organic Land Fighter: Fast, light organic hoover vehicle, with 3 Light VePhasers, Regenerative OrgaArmor and HO-Continuous Antimatter engine.

-Rage class Automated Kamikaze: Medium speed automated vehicle, equiped only wirth an HP Self Destruction Mechanism, attached to its HP-UB engine.

-Excalibur class Transport Vessel: The biggest vessel ever made by the FTR. With more than 8 miles long, 2 miles wide and 1.2 miles high, and powered by several Heavy HP-UB engines. Equiped with a Heavy Neutronium Armor and a Carbonic Shield MKII, and capable of transporting up to 3 million units. The Excalibur class ships hoover at 80 meters above the ground.

Sea Vehicles:

-Poseidon class Sea Vessel:Fast, medium sized transport vessel, powered by a HP-UB engine. Can transport up to 500 units. Equiped with a Nanosteel Armor and Energy Shield MKI generator.

-Typhon class Destroyer: Large size, slow sea ship. Equiped with 5 Medium Phaser Turrets, 2 Triumph Missile Launchers, 2 Tachyon Discharger, Carbonic Shield MKI generator and heavy Neutronium Armor. These ships also carry 5 Kraken SubHunters.

-Hammerhead class Assault Sea Vehicle: Medium size assault sea vehicle, with 4 Heavy VePhasers, ECM system, Energy Shield Generator, 2 VePlasma Projectors and reduced Neutronium Armor.

-Gonghead class Defender: Large sized, multifunctional defense ship. Equiped with Carbonic and Energy Shield Far Projector generators, ECM and ECCM systems, 4 Triumph Missile Launchers, 1 Stasis Gun, 1 HP Self Destruction Mechanism and heavy Neutronium Armor, this ship is the last technology on coast and fleet defense. These ships also carry 20 Kraken SubHunters.

-Kraken class SubHunter: Fast, small sized submarine vessel, specifically designed to seek and hunt underwater threats. Equiped with 2 Seeker Plasma Torpedoes, Nanosteel Armor and a ECCM system. These vehicles are usually mounted on larger vehicles, to provide an exelent defense against submarine targets.


Infantry:

-Phaser Infantry: WarClone-based infantry troop, equiped with light, fast firerate InPhasers, Light OrgaCarcass and ReflexoBoosters, making it the tipe of unit for small chirurgic attacks.

-Rad Trooper: Heavy WarClone-based infantry troop, equiped with heavy RadCannons and CarboCarscass. The WarClone modeel is specially designed to withstand the deadly radiation levels generated by the weapon.

-Punisher: This PsyTek based troop falls into the speciallity group. Punishers hold no specific equipment more than Wave SubN-Grafts, which heavily amplify their distorter mind waves. They speciallize on direct attacks to specific targets and turn them insane by pumpping endless pain in their minds.
