It's not actually democratic. they have the smae power as an Emperor or king, but they are called "president" instead-sounds less evil.

On hearing the voice, the mens fear began to rise. but they stepped in anyway... one by one, into the cramped corridors...

The Tanks the rebels bought with them were covered in beast infection, bought under the control of the beast.

Some men ran and tried to fire blindly, but all were absorbed...

The landing craft took off, to return to the Beast collective. They entered hyperspace as soon as the atmospere was cleared.

Captain Markson sipped his coffee as he watched the events unfolding.

The president, still weak, was led from the speechbox by a team of security guards, amongst an angry crowd of citizens looking for answers...

It's funny you should say that TIN. we are as we speak, working on a way to trace their hyperspace signitures. As soon as we find out where they wen't we'll let you know.

Markson and the science team at Lunar Dock One watched the replayed events again and again.

"It looks like this... beast, moves like a virus, infecting people and machines as it goes," Dr. Marc Stephens said.

Markson nodded, "Try telling us something we don't know already."

"Well, in fighting it, if it runs from one central source, if we can access it somehow, implant our own anti-virus, acting like a virus, implanting enough to change the basic programming of the virus? Like when a virus implants RNA into a cell to change it's programming. Doing that to the virus?"

"Brilliant," Markson said sounding less than sincere, then closing the channel and punching up one to TIN, "I'll run that by our allies in the Imperial Alliance and let them tell me they came up with it already a few weeks ago..."

"Although we can't find a way to destroy the virus when it has started. Larkinia's research would be great. Allow them access to all our data on the beast, and allow them access to our advanced research centers."

"Yes sir, right away."

"There is one way to wreck some vengeance."

"Take Battlegroup 2 to the Forbidden sector. Kill every beast ship you can find and then come home."

Don't go on that mission for now. Wait and keep tracing that Hyperpspace signiture. then we shall attack.

Markson chuckled as the reply came across. He punched up the science team again. "Well doc, looks like you have a gig. I'm forwarding the codes to gain access to TIN's research centers."

Stephens nodded, "We'll get to work on something right away." He closed the line and plugged in to the Imperial Navy's research data.

Markson turned to his first officer, "Now how are the new Assault ships coming?"

"Well," she said, "The first ones should be out soon."
