OOC-This is a really free-form RP, just as a serious try into the field. I'd like comments please, I wanna know how I'm doing.
IC-
"Schnee..." the soldier looked up "Schnee überall...". The great evergreens sagged with the loads of still falling flakes, and ice was beginning to creep on the New Rhine.
"Hast oben! C'mon Sgt., let's move."
"Ja Leutnant. Sorry."
The soldiers were slipping in and out of their native German, and the switch to English was slow. Although 1/3rd of Deshdenstadt was still German and Austrian, the large amounts of English speaking people had increased to surpass German as Deshdenstadt's most used language. It was about 20 degrees Farenheit, but Sgt. Wasserman still would rather be out here than at the parade drills in the capital, the Class A's didn't provide much insulation at all. And for a city kid like Wasserman, the banks and forests of the New Rhine were far preferable to the cities parade grounds. Their mission was actually to patrol the forests around the Rhine Mountains, where the Schmerzen Castle was. The rumor had it that there would be some kind of diplomatic meeting, a move the politcians labled as "a gesture of friendship to the world's leaders". The invitation had gone out a week ago, but that was something Wasserman neither knew nor cared of.

Ambassador Heinrich Kaiserhand paced nervously around his room at the castle. He was ready, sure of it. And he was hoping to prove to those high-ups at the Congress and such that he was capable of going international despite being the youngest Ambassador in Deshdenstadt. But this was all moot if nobody showed up. And he'd be damned if they didn't.

Bump, c'mon, my first RP...

OOC: This is also my fist RP.
IC:
The small plane with the blue white and orange colored stripes flew from Sike kali to the country of Dreshdenstadt. Inside the plane were the minister of foreign affairs Yjen Hana and his advisors and the translator. Yjen Hana was normally a very calm man, but you could see his excitement. In his political career he rarely has left the oceanian region. "We are soon approaching the Dreshdenstadtian borders!" came the voice from the pilot.

The ATC at New Rhine City cleared the Rejistania flight for landing, as a govt. helicopter landed that would transport them to Schmerzen Castle, which was much easier to access by helicopter than by automobile. Anna Brezcam, another diplomat, stepped out and waited for the plane to land. It was fairly windy at the flat areas of the NRC Intl Airport, and Anna's scarf flapped in the gusts as she hoped she could get out of the cold soon.

The plane landed on the airport without complication. Yjen Hana and the other members of the rejistanisn diplomatic team put on their warm, black coats. Yjen Hana said something that would mean: "OK, go for it!" in english before they left the plane. While leaving, they shivered in the uncommen weather. They saw the dreshdenstadtian woman waiting for them and greeted her in the politest way, the rejistanian language could provide.

OOC: Wir können das hier auch auf deutsch weiterführen.

"Grüße und Willkommen zum Deshdenstadt. Welcome to Deshdenstadt. It's great to meet you. I advise we stay with English, as that is our official language now. But excuse me if I slip into German now and then."
She began walking toward the helicopter, and opened the door.
"Please take a seat, it's only a 10 minute flight."

The team followed her to the helicopter and got in. The rejistanian translator said: "It is no problems for me, if german is used. I speak this language fairly well." Yjen Hana troduced himself and the rest of the team: "I am Yjen Hana, minister of foreign affiars, Majla Gil " he pointed in the direction of a small young man with blonde hair and green eyes, "This is Ta Leni" he pointed towards an elderly woman. "They are advising me in cultural and economical matters."

"Nice to meet you all. I'm Anna Brezcam, you'll meet Ambassador Kaiserhand at Schmerzen. So, tell me about your nation... I'm always interested to hear of other countries."

Yjen Hana replied: "It is also a pleasure to meet you." after a short pause he began to tell something about Rejistania: "You perhaps know, that our country lies in the region of Oceania. Our capitol has the name Sike. It is a very small city, the economic and cultural capitol is Kalimntan-Maiju-Riandu, or as any Rejistanian calls it, KaMaRi city. The rejistanian people consists of three major ethnics groups, which divide into countless smalles groups. eight languages are nativly spoken by more than 5 Mio people. Rejistanian is an artificial language, which is used in national affairs. So we all know very well, what the problem is, if there is an official language, which differs from the native."

OOC: If have created a website with some information about Rejistania (http://www.geocities.com/versionizer/rejistania.html).

"Amazing... A pacific nation... This weather here must be quite a change for you."
The chopper began to descend, as the landing pad at Schmerzen became surrounded in a mist of snow being kicked up by the whirling blades. The Deshdenstadti soldiers, with olive drab and white winter gear, and red field caps stood at attention as the door to the helicopter opened.
"Let's get inside, it's very cold and windy up here on the mountains."

Yjen looked around and once more noticed, that Dreshdenstadt has a totally different culture. The castle did look old, as they approached, but not as it tend to fall into pieces, but merely as if could look back to hundreds of years of ever-changing history. As the door of the helicopter opened, Yjen Hana made a gesture, that he would like Anna Brezcam to leave first. "We are all not that used to snow, see?" he said.

"I understand. I wouldn't be used to a Pacific Island either."
She walked down the hall, and uniforms and armor of past soldiers of Deshdenstadti history.
"This was basically the seat of power during the middle ages here. Even though the capital was really down there at New Rhine City, the kings usually stayed here because of it's strategic importance."
The group enters a more modern area, with a large glass window, about 2 stories high, dominating the wall.
"This used to be the overlook, until it was renovated. As you can see, it provides a very good view of the area. Those lights are New Rhine City and the surrounding town, you can see the farmlands to the left, and the hills to the right. The kings could basically see the whole area, and with it's mountain area, it was very hard to attack."
She pointed up at the balcony behind them.
"Those are the tables right up there. If you want any dinner, there's a buffet up there. A lot of important officials of the Democratic Republic are up there now, there will be a Senate meeting on the bill to try to bring back privatized industry."

the rejistanians were all deeply impressed. Yjen Hana answered to Anna Brezcam: "Something to eat os at the moment a very good idea. We had a real long flight to Dreshdenstadt." Majla Gil added: "And perhaps you can tell us something about this new bill."
Deshdenstadt
10-10-2003, 00:23
As they walked up the stairs to the buffet, she explained,
"There really is no private industry here. Everyone has to apply to the govt. to create a business, and they get VPship to the Commerce Board. For a long time, this was used to control exports out of the nation, and to make it easier to create new jobs. But some people say the govt. restrictions make it hard for business to really go to it's full potential. And they're right. People still lose jobs because the CB has become too selective in it's interviews. The gambling and black market causes hundreds of deaths a year in shootouts with the police and Special Urban Units, our SWAT and CT forces so to speak."
Rejistania
10-10-2003, 00:50
Gil asked: "And by this you want to legalize parts of the black market to have a better control and to avoid crime? It sounds promising, even if I do not know the entire situation." They waited a bit for Leni keep up. In her age, stairs were not that easy, as they were when she was young.
Deshdenstadt
10-10-2003, 01:46
"Exactly. Many believe it's better for business if we let people run their own, and that it will expand the foreign market. Of course, there will be limits on gambling and drugs and such, but with private industries, we get alot of room to grow."
She walked up to the buffet and grabbed a plate.
"Some people want to stick to the old ways... Deshdenstadt has always been self sufficient, but with all the military aid from other nations that's coming in now, people are starting to realize there's a whole world out there, and we can make a lot of profit from it."
Rejistania
10-10-2003, 10:55
Leni smiled: "In Rejistania it is somehow the same, but not the military changed it but sports. After Tasman Ija has reached an incredible silver medal in the Track&Field olympic qualifier, people started to relize, that the world is not just Rejistania and not just Oceania. That somehow initiated a change of mind in the country." The others nodded, because they all know the story of the tiny rejistanian team of four athletes, that went to the qualifiers as a ridiculous bunch of maniacs and came back as heroes. Hana asked: "We have heard of the military aid your getting, but we did not really see why. I mean: Against which enemy you have to defend?"
Deshdenstadt

"Let me explain. This nation is part of landmass that pokes it's way into the Federated Islands Reigon. Now, there are a few, uhh, shall we say, offending nations here. Namely Markov, and G-corp. The Markovians were warmongers, and were threatining a nation called New Empire. This nation has a huge military, and decimated Markov in a fairly quick war. Complete slaughter of the Markovian military. G-corp goes awhile back though, when the nation had coincidentially plotted attacking New Empire's reigon. He was destroyed even quicker. Now it isn't New Empire we worry about, we have allied with them, but it's Markov and G-corp. The USNE would probably call on us to help them in the event of another war between them, and we are worried one of them might attack us in response. So we have been focusing on creating top of the line defense systems, you wouldn't believe how many bunkers, SAMs and Cruise Missile silos are in the mountains and other bases."
Rejistania

Yjen Hana said: "I hope that such an attack will not happen! Perhaps we can help you by means of diplomacy if the tension grows in the relations to this countries."
Deshdenstadt
10-10-2003, 21:11
"We'd appreciate the help. But things here are so quiet now... I don't think it's anything we have to worry about."
A set huge oak doors opened, and the senators filed into the meeting hall.
"It seems the meeting is starting... I do hope that bill is approved."

During tthis talking the Rejistanians had nearly forgotten to buffet. Yjen Hana and the others grabbed a plate and looked at the food, which differed a bit from the things, they were used to in Rejistania. Ta Leni said something to the rest of the delegation in Isesian. Just after that they dared to take some food on their plate.
