In point of fact it is the assumption of students of reality and its implication that this Earth is not the Earth of which you speak, but that it likely has aspects in common with that Earth. Apparently you are familiar with some off-Earth cultures and assume that some species map to species present in your own personal backtime.

In point of fact it is the assumption of students of reality and its implication that this Earth is not the Earth of which you speak, but that it likely has aspects in common with that Earth. Your Empire is long gone, the Imperium of Man has taken its place. We have claimed the so called "Maiden" worlds, when your empire was no longer around. Therefore since your empire was no longer around, it was our right to take them.

Our folklore ascribes our kind's origin to the kitsune, a... spiritually-awakened, I suppose you'd say... fox said to possess shapeshifting abilities, and to often take human form. Rather odd for a place in which magic holds no sway, but then, it did, at one time.
