History: The Grand Duchy of Hell Bovines is a country inhabitted, mainly, by hell bovines, a race of humanoid, sentient, 2-metre-tall cows.
According to hell bovinian legends, their race originated long ago in the remote world of Diablo 2. Their race was miracously teleported from that world to the nationstates world, just before the Diablo 2 world collapsed.
A more accepted theory nowadays, also, states that Hell Bovines migrated to the Greenfields continent to the South Pacific, in search for warmer climates.
Whatever theory is correct, either the religious or the cientific, what it's known for sure is that then the Hell Bovines then, settled on the west coast of the Greenfields continent, and is during this period that much of the hell bovinian culture developed. Favorable climate conditions made the hell bovines develop a sedentary life and ancient cities like Moo Moo Farm or Gomoo Tikal were built, with a unique architectural style, that, by casuality, resembled that of the aztecs and the mayans. During this period, the tribal political organization was replaced by kingdoms and also, lots of efforts were dedicated to arts and religion, creating a very pacifist, cultural and religious society. Is during these period that new ideas and technologies like agriculture, scripture, astrology, complex architecture and trade were developed.
The initial tribal political structure was replaced by city-states and kingdoms that, although independent, would share information and act together in times of need.
Things changed drastically when, in the XVIII century, the Spanish-speaking Galdagans begun exploring the coasts of Hell Bovines. begun a massive campaign of colonization and subjugation of the local peoples, the hell bovines. The sentient bovinoids opposed a fiery resistance to the human colonisers but, in the end, they were subjugated.
The Galdagans founded the city of 'Santa Trinidad', today known as 'El Granero de Blackhooves' or 'Blackhooves' Barn', in English, and decided that city would be the capital of their new colony in Greenfields.
During this period, the colonialists deliberatedly ignored the fact that hell bovines were sentient peoples and enslaved them, taking them away from their cities, to the new capital of Santa Trinidad (Blackhooves Barn). The hell bovines were turned into cattle, and the selling of their meat became a very profitable market.
The hell bovines, thus, lost all hope of independence and sovereignity and were turned into cattle of the humans. They were bought and sold like if their were objects and not sentient peoples. Hell Bovinian culture, once proud and noble, was forgotten under a colonial opressive iron fist and the native language was slowly replaced by Spanish.
From this dark period, however, hope appeared. In the beginning of the XX century, a young bovine revolutionary called Mooo Blackhooves begun a campaign to start a hell bovine uprising against foreign rule. He created is own ideology called 'Ecotopia', combining enviromentalist, marxist and direct-democratic ideals and created the Bovine Liberation Squad, a guerrilla movement that would be the responsible for liberating the nation.
Inspired by revolutionary movements going on in Greenfields and Aperin, Mooo Blackhooves convinced the rest of the hell bovines to fight for their independence and culture and so, uprisings begun in all hell bovines, in what is today known as The Bovine Revolution.
Using the technology brought by the colonialists (rifles, gunpowder, etc.) and guerrilla like tactics, the hell bovines managed to kick out the aperinians of their ancient lands. Although the bovines had inferior technology, their numbers were bigger and the foreigners had to relinquish their claims to the bovine lands. In this way, The Grand Duchy of Hell Bovines was officially born as an independent and sovereign nation again.
The city of Santa Trinidad, once a symbol of foreign opression, was renamed Blackhooves' Barn and, though referendums, it was decided that hell bovines would be a democratic, socialist and enviromentalist grand duchy, government form which was called Ecotopia. The democratic-socialist party was also created during these period. Thus, the people of Hell Bovines showed their acceptance of Mooo Blackhooves and his ideology.
The capital was restablished in Moo Moo Farm and decisions like the collectivization of the economy and the expropation of factories to be transformed in worker's cooperatives were made.
More than 50 years after the revolution, Hell Bovines had achieved most of its goals. The country protected the enviroment, had a wonderful education system and one of the highest levels of social equality of the world. However, from being so concerned with its internal policy, hell bovines had forgotten to develop its external policy, thus becoming isolated from the rest of the international community.
After the death of the duque Mooo III, elections took place and, again, the democratic-socialist party was elected. The people of hell bovines expressed its conformity with said party, as it hadn't lost any election since its fundation by Mooo Blackhooves.
The excentric but noble duque Mooo IV, Milky Spottedcrown, swore in, with the promise of continuing with a policy of enviroment-friendliness, education and social equality, while, at the same time, developing a serious foreign policy. In internal issues, he managed to legalize all forms of mariage, even those with non-sentient animals and to give more funding to arts, among other things.
On external issues, he managed to turn Hell Bovines into a respected member of the international community, by taking an active role in the two Third World Solidarity Conferences, at Larkinia and Tanah Burung, and also by participating on the Freedom Five conference, held at Ziobia.
Hell Bovines also took an active role in the defense of non-human rights, becoming a founding member of the Non-Human Union, along with Red Penguins, Biotopia and Clangerland and later, becoming the interior minister of said organization.
More recently, Hell Bovines has been elected as one of the members of the Developing Nations Commision ejecutive board and has proudly signed the IFTA (International Fair Trade Agreement) treaty, thus gaining access to one of the largest trade blocks of the world, a trade block of nations that make their economies grow while respecting worker's rights at the same time.
Today, the future looks bright for a hell bovines. A proud socialist nation and interior minister of the NHU, Hell Bovines will forever continue to fight imperialism in all its forms, whether economical or political.

Climate: Tropical, hot and humid. A lot of fog in the eastern parts and a bit colder in the northeast, due to mountainous landscape
Terrain: A great part of the south is covered by huge rainforests and swamps, consequence of the great effort the government does to preserve the enviroment. The Lakamul Rainforests, in the south of the country, are widely known as an important turistic destination. In the west, large and fertile grasslands known as "pampas" exist, and the mountainous northeast is home to several varieties of stepes and subtropical forests.
