The Fall of Janus? (Serious RP/Story, Open)

///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\
Less Then 24 Hours After the Events of the KS Protocol...
\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///

*Rufus lunged on a couch, watching the satellite TV in Janus' room. His sister was busy writing something in her personal journal.*

Janus: "I trust the Turks are handling things quite well?"

Rufus: "Of course. They are feeding false information to th media, and advicing them to disregard any other information source besides the government as being nothing but fictious lies. I'm surprised you don't have the media under your control."

Janus: "Hmmm.... I should do that. That way, I wouldn't need to worry about information control ever again."

Rufus: "Perhaps..."

///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\
Ecneics, Sewers...
\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///

*Alexia stumbled through the sewers, sloushing through the dirty water.*

Alexia: "Dead, they're all dead... But... How? How did it happen?"

*She had seen the carnage yesterday, all her comrades dying before her eyes. Yet she alone was spared. Why?*

Alexia: "Gotta get to Petty Heigths!"

*Her leather outfit was grimy, and she was in bad need of a bath.*

((OOC: Remember, there was a 3% error ratio when the KS Protocol was activated. Alexia is probably the only Krowemohian member of the APDK left alive now. Hey, whay can I say? I happened to like her and didn't want to axe her off so soon. ^_^))

"Hmm, they are denying it quite well."

"Yes they are. Allright i think its time to go for level 2. Begin releasing more information starting with the autopsy reports and the time of occurrence similarities with the deaths. But dont give out the comms information we have yet nor the most hush-hush information that we have on this what they are supposedly calling "KS Protocol"."

The Captain nodded and vacated the room. General Tremaine simply continued to follow the news thru the satellite and wonder how long could the royal family of Krowemoh deny and continue with their lies. When there were enough facts in the air, the effect of their means would begin to falter but that would be still some time away.

Daliy Catnip Main Office, Seiduts Laicos City...
\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///

*Reno Blackrose, member of the Turks, read over the file one of the Daily Catnip reporters had given him. It contained a detailed autopsy report of a neko who had died of Cyanide, as well as other information.*

Reno: "It's nothing but lies, false information from terrorists supporting a dead cause. I thank you for bringing this to my attention. Your loyalty will be rewarded accordingly."

*The reporter, a young female Intern, blushes and turns to leave, but Reno speaks again.*

Reno: "In the future, please forward any and all of these 'files' you recieve to the Turks' Office on Floor 60 of the Shin-Ra Tower. Make sure no one else sees them either. You may go about your business."

*Reno leaves the Main Office of the Daily Catnip and enters his car, a black souped up foreign import. Revving the engine, he speds off for the KLN Main Office across town, to see if they had recieved the same files. He radios in for the rest of the Turks.*

Reno: "Reno here. Elena, Rude, T'seng, please respond."

Elena: "Read you loud and clear."

*Came the newest Turks member's voice over the handheld radio's speaker. It was followed almost immediately by.*

Rude: "Yes?"

*The husky voice of Rude Watkins, oldest member of the Turks and Reno's favorite drinking buddy.*

T'seng: "This better be important."

*Came the voice of their leader. Reno clicks the side button and speaks.*

Reno: "I got something you might find interesting. Get together back at base in thirty. I'll alert Rufus, as I'm sure this concerns him too."

Elena: "A okay..."

Rude: "Affirmitive."

T'seng: "You interrupted my meal to tell me THAT?"

*Reno smirks, T'seng seemed mean at first, but he was all heart.*

Petty Heights, a Few Hours Before Nightfall...
\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///

*Alexia stumbled out of the sewer outlet, covered in guck and goddess knows what else. The valley where the Gernomalis base was is near, and she made it this far alive. The rest of the way would be a walk in the park.*

The man in the black trenchoat walked along the side of the street towards his next destination, a small newspaper office at the edge of the centrum of the city. The night was darker than usually and the rain hit him hard but he was like he didnt even notice it. In five minutes he came to the building he looked for. A three story building with the logo and name of the newspaper in the front. He dropped a thick and large letter to the mailbox and walked away.

At other cities and other media agencies, dozens of agents were doing the same. Carefully watching their backs from anything that might be shadowing them, the intelligence operatives dropped their packages and disappeared back to the shadows of the night and to ramshacky hotels and buildings on their areas of operation.

<<<<<The Valley of the Gernomalis base>>>>>>

Reed glanced thru his visor again and noticed nothing, like he hadnt noticed anything 5 minutes before.

"Damn, what the hell are we doing sitting on this damn ledge?" The private moaned once again at the lack of action.

"Keeping an eye on the terrain as i have explained numerous times. The possible rebels will need the Gernomalis base and we need to help the base to survive." The Sergeant grunted, annoyed of the attitude of the private next to him.

"Naah, there isnt anything comin here anyways...its just birds, animals, trees...a neko." The private mumbled and then noticed what he had said.

"A neko!?" He used the image enhancing, zooming and thermal imaging capabilities of the visor in his ACS suit and found the lone Neko coming towards the valley.

"What's ya got Reed?"

"A lone Neko coming from nine o'clock, about six clicks. Straight towards the valley."

The sergeant also now found the Neko and the private shot a question.

"A scout?"

"Possibly. Lets go and ask."

Putting words to actions the sergeant began a quick running motion downwards the hill with his suit and private Reed followed suite. Six clicks was a mere four minute trip for an ACS suit at full speed. And very soon they were only within 50 meters of the lone soldier, under the cover of a few trees. Having little to fear from a single soldier, the Sergeant stepped on the way of the lone Neko and pointed the large pulser rifle at her. Reed took his side and followed suite with the 2.2 meter tall ACS suits now obstructing the path of the Neko.

"Well well, do we have here? Where you headed fella?."

*Alexia growled low in her throat, the military grade Sniper Rifle raised in her hands, pointed right back at the sergeant. There was a sense of utter fearlessness in her, even though the odds were heavily stacked against her.*

Alexia: "I just saw a crap load of my comrades die for NO apparant reason what so f*cking ever, I've traveled 16 miles through a disgusting sewer to escape Krowemohian Marines, that's f*cking right, MARINES. Not pansy ass Army regulars, Ma-f*cking-rines! Elite of the elite... I'm dirty, hungry, cranky and not in the mood to deal with low life criminals. GET THE F*CK OUTTA MY WAY HIGHWAYMAN, or else face the wraith of Alexia Sinclair!"

*Needless to say, she wasn't in a good mood.*

Alexia: I can't believe this! Not more then a rock's throw from the Gernomalis base and I'm intercepted by muggers in powered armor. What's Krowemoh coming to?

((OOC: Pardon the double post, but there's something you should know Clairmont. There are only three news sources in Krowemoh: the Daily Catnip, Krowemoh Times (A morning news show like Good Day LA), and KLN (Krowemoh Live News). Just making sure peeps know.))

OOC: Allright thanks for the info, my men were then inserting the information to different reporters on the three news agencies. Also, to get an idea what the ACS suit looks like, if you have played Starcraft, im using the armor of the human marines from that.

The Sergeant felt like backing away an inch even tough the catwoman ahead of her felt very lilliputian when compared to the massive ACS suit he wore. Judging by her reaction tough and the fact that she seemed to know where the Gernomalis base was, the assumption was that she was ADPK, but they had all died.

"Whoa, arent you edgy.I assume you are ADPK, but pardon my doubtfullness since it seems that every Neko member of ADPK in goverment is dead as the effect of cyanide released simultaneously. So why are you alive?" The sergeant questioned and moved his right hand slightly so that the shoulder patch with the logo of Clairmont Marine ACS Battalion 435th was visible to the Neko.

He still held the weapon ready and pointed at her at his hip while Reed simply stood silent but chuckled on the inside "Highwayman?" he thought.

** Petty Heights, Krowemoh**

The Major read the report over of the battle in the industrial region of Yrtsimehc and other details of the aftermath.

-==========================================-

To Major Teroake:
The Marines were driven back, however at a heavy cost to the freedom fighters, the majority were killed in the gunfight before the cyanide trigger were activated. We have been able to locate all of the MIAs, 3 were alive, however the 4th soldier, a Franco Garcia was found dead, hung from a tree. The rest of the squad are R&Ring at The Haven. Patrols have been established with 5 teams of 4 out there for a week then a rotation happens. Letters have been sent to the family of the 10 KIAs, nothing else to report.

"Sir?" Colonel Meeks asked, taking off his helmet, "You heard what's happening in Krowemoh?"

General Diego coughed on the fumes coming from Meeks, "Jesus, man, you been out in the D-con zone again?" He coughed again. "And yeah, I heard about it."

"Well, yes sir, I was out in the D-con again. We've almost got that shit under control."

"Exactly, Colonel, almost. We can't afford any involvements right now, not until we've completely recovered from the Argus disaster."

"But sir, there's nothing more we can do for that. We've got the populace calm again, the radiation is under control, and the rad-sickness is being treated. We're just trying to rebuild our money! This could be an opportunity to contribute back to the world community for their help after Argus went off."

The general puffed his cigar. "Alright, Colonel. Deploy one, and only one, of our H/K Teams as observers. No shootouts. No gunslinging. Just to watch and protect."

"Thank you, sir."

"Pansy. When I was a younger officer, we didn't intervene in other countries affairs."

"They're gassing their people, sir!"

"Their problem. We should sell 'em masks."

"Yes, sir. Well, I'm going to see if they can use any help."

"Try to sell them gas masks. We've got a surplus."

"Yes, sir." The colonel turned to leave. "Asshole." he muttered.

((OOC: The Few, the Proud, The Expendable Marines! ^_^ Tee-hee. Are you trying to get invited to my next bar-bee-que?))

*Alexia chuckled.*

Alexia: "Of course I'm edgy! You try spending hours in a dark, filthy sewer! Am I with the ADPK? Are you stupid, or were you dropped on your head often as a child? I'm Alexia Sinclair, the mutha f*cking leader of the ADPK! Or what's left of it in any event. And what do you mean by 'Cyanide released simultaneously?'"

*She glances at the Sergeant's patch on his shoulder.*

Alexia: "Well la de f*cking da. So you're all not highwaymen, I suppose you'll want a cookie now or something?"

((OOC2: Like she said eariler, she's cranky. Let her get a nice hot shower and a good night's rest and she'll be friendlier. Oh, and Kaukolastan? Maybe you don't know, but 'Secert IC' means that anything that happens in the post containing it only those directly involved know about. Hence the term "Secert IC.' It's In Character, and it's happenly secertly. There's no way anyone in your nation would have known about anything even vaguely related to the Ks Protocol even in the most general of terms, as Krowemoh has rather strict laws concerning foreigners in the nation.))

"Ah so you are Alexia Sinclair, hmm wait a second."

The sergeant inputed a few commands to his suit and took a facial topography scan of the Neko's face and fed it to the database. In a few seconds he was rewarded with the file of the ADPK leader.

"So it seems that you are. I am sorry but we were only briefed on need to know basis and it seems that the boys doing that briefing didnt think that it would be need to know who is the leader of ADPK considering you all seemed to be dead."

Then he adressed the cyanide question.

"Concerning the cyanide remark i made... well im pretty sure you have seen a lot of your comrades just dying or dead without any noticable external wounds havent you? Well we did an autopsy to one of the bodies and found out that there was a small cyanide capsule in the body we checked which could be triggered via remote."

"And leave the cookies, ill take a beer more preferrably."

He lowered the pulser rifle and private Reed followed suite.

"We'll escort you to the Gernomalis base."

Dekker carefully made his way over to the dead neko, then prodded it with his boot. "What the f**k?" The corpse didn't move. Dekker lightly kicked the still-burning cigarette out of the corpse's hand. "Those things'll kill ya." He says with a half-hearted laugh. "Well, there goes our arms deal..." He begins to poke around in the white van. "Well lookie here... A radio..." He turns it on and picks up the reciever. "Dekker Bray to any surviving members of the ADPK..."
Clairmont
09-10-2003, 00:10
The voice came thru with heavy distortion first as Reed heard it from the speakers of his suit. He made some quick adjustments and the sound became clear.

"Mr. Bray, state your interests regarding the ADPK."

Since their mission was to help the what was remaining of the ADPK in Krowemoh, they had also tuned in their transceivers to watch for any traffic at the ADPK radio frequencies just in case there would be places where the ACS would be needed.

"I was in the middle of an arms deal when the two neko I was dealin' with dropped dead, looks like cyanide poisoning. Who's this?" Dekker said with a twinge of apprehension.
Clairmont
09-10-2003, 00:30
"Thats none of your concern Mr.Bray, we have no method of confirming your identity so stay off this channel."

The private shut off the comm. He couldnt have begun a long chat or otherwise it would have been a cakewalk to pinpoint his location. He also could not give the positions of any bases for the man or otherwise if he was a spy, then those bases would be swarming with Goverment forces in the blink of an eye. Naturally he neither could give his name or much less the rank and unit.

He turned his eyes back to the Sergeant and the Neko talking. It was impossible to know where someone inside an ACS suit was looking at for the visor was black and the system provided feed from external cameras directly to the eyes of the user.

Dekker gripped the mic tighter in frustration, slightly cracking the black plastic. "I ain't someone you wanna piss off, boy. Are there any ADPK left? If the leader's in the general area, tell her that 'Marmaduke' is dead, and I've still got her weapons." Dekker growled into the mic. If one of 'his' soldiers had treated him in that manner, he'd have applied a powerful backhand. That usually fixed any bad attitude any of the recruits might have. "You catch all that?"
09-10-2003, 06:43
*Alexia blinked as the Sergeant told her of the capsule.*

Alexia: "That bitch! I can't believe she actually put those things in us! Come on, let's get back to the Gernomalis Base, I need a five hour long hot shower and a warm meal."

*She storms past the Sergeant, the barrel of the sniper rifle resting on her shoulder. The man could see strapped to her back a very illegal H&K P11c SMG, like the rest of her, there was mud splattered on it here and there on the sub-machine gun.*
Clairmont
09-10-2003, 11:23
As Alexia stormed past them, the two ACS suits turned and began to follow her, effortlessly keeping up with her pace. Reed had heard what the Bray persona had said and decided to tell about it.

"Ms. Sincair, i got someone over the comm who claims to have been in an arms deal with the ADPK. He states to be Dekker Bray and he asked me to tell you that 'Marmaduke' is dead and he still has your weapons."
09-10-2003, 19:08
*Alexia blinked, recalling in her head anyone named Marmaduke.*

Alexia: "He must mean Vincent Marduke. Tell him to remain at his current position, and that a Gernomalis trooper will come to finish the deal. Don't let him know I'm alive, though, just in case he is working for the government. We don't want Princess B*tch doing whatever it was she did to kill all the members of the ADPK. And someone radio ahead to the Gernomalis base, I want that capsule taken out of my body pronto!"

((OOC: Which is harder then it sounds. The capsule is near the part where the spinal cord connects to the brain. Even the slightest mistake when removing it would mean instant death.))
09-10-2003, 19:42
** The Haven, Krowemoh**

"Sir!, we've jus recieved a transmission regarding the supposed leader of whats left of the ADPK, it appears theres some kind of cyanide capusle in her that can be triggered via remote control." the nurse reported "Well, thats some news, we'll need to fly in a team of specialists, 'cause we dun have that kind of skill ANYwhere in this hospital, hardest thing most of the doctors extracted are bullets from the chest area. Nurse get on the comm and contact Petty Heights, tell em that we'll need those specialists immediately, also ask em to ask other countries if they have any doctors that are capable of these kinds of operations." the head doctor stated.

** Petty Heights, Krowemoh**
"Tell the ACS squad that we have contacted the hospital and that they'll need to send for some specialists. Also tell em that we have set up special clean up facilites for the leader, anyone tries any funny business she has my personal permission to backhand that fool and make an example outta em, but not kill em we need troops alive or hurt too bad, embrassement is always a good way. And make sure you radio the outposts, tell em were sending the fresh bwoys out." the commander in charge of the comm room ordered "Yes Sir!" acknowledged the corporal, then went to work sending the messages.

(Current Troops Deployed: 1800 oops)
OOC: what i mean by troops is all combat personnel, not just soldiers, so that includes doctors, and the crew of the aircraft carrier that is stationed in international waters.

Troop breakdown:
aircraft carrier: 1000
active combat troops: 400
reserves on the carrier: 200
doctors: 50
other personnel(mechanics, comm operators): 150
there, that should add up

"Surgeon eh?"

Captain Sunday asked as the request was relayed to him.

"Yes sir."

"Well Dr. Clark is good but i dont think that good."

Dr.Clark was the chief surgeon of the 435th ACS Battalion. He had done some hard operations in his past like extracting bullets from near the spinal cord and from the brain area but in this case the target to be extraced was much smaller and in even harder place.

"Right, get on the horn with command and tell them we need a GOOD surgeon in here pronto, and when i say that i mean within 3 hours."

The Lieutenant who had brought the comm message saluted and left.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<3 hours 14 minutes later>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Dr. Emily Watkinson sat silently in the gargo hold of the Seraph transport. She had been taken away in the middle of the day from the general hospital at Diess City and she was very very annoyed. The military types who had given her the regular "need to know" information only, had shuved her off to the dropship so quickly that she had barely had enough time to gather her gear. Now she was going somewhere, she had no clue where, to do a surgery that involved extracting something very small from the spinal cord/brain connection area. The dropship thumped heavully as it hit the ground and the pilot opened the side door. Emily detached herself from the buckles and leaped out of the ship.

It was a busy looking military compound in the middle of a forest which could be practically anywhere. On the ground she was greeted by a Lieutenant and a Sergeant in the 220cm tall form of an ACS suit.

"This way doctor." The Lieutenant said and motioned her to follow.
On the way there were more ACS troopers and other soldiers who were wearing some other uniforms than the regular Clairmont Armed Forces uniforms that she had gotten used to seeing. But that information clearly wasnt something that she "needed to know".
10-10-2003, 08:36
*Alexia arrived at the base, and upon being told she'd have to wait until a specialist was flown in to remove her 'Kill Switch,' she headed straight for the clean up facility where she could bathe. Nothing of interest or noteworthy happened, and by the time the specialist arrived from Clairmont, Alexia was refreshed, fed, and feeling generally very good. She greets the sergeon personally as she enters the base.*

Alexia: "Good day to you. You must be the specialist the Gernomalians said they needed."

*Alexia's tail swished back and forth mindlessly. Wearing her favorite outfit, the female neko looked more like a biker gang leader then the leader of a political party: A red leather jacket matched with black leather pants, completed by black combat boots. Her brown hair was tied back in a pony tail, her intense green eyes alert for danger, yet also full of wisdom beyond her apparent years.*

((OOC: Um, Gernomalis, the numbers you posted add up to 1800. ^.^ And could you give a brief description of what the typical Gernomalian looks like?))
Clairmont
10-10-2003, 14:19
"You could say that. Are you the patient?" Emily asked Alexia upon meeting the catwoman. This gave her some idea where she was but again, catpersons were numerous in many countries.

Before Alexia could say anything the Lieutenant who had escorted Emily spoke to the Neko.
"Dr. Watkinson is working on need to know basis, so tell her only what she needs to know."

Having said that the Lieutenant vacated and left Sergeant Gunnar and Private Reed to keep watch on the Rebel Leader and the Doctor.
10-10-2003, 14:44
*Alexia nodded as the Lieutenant told her that the doctor was on a need to know basis.*

Alexia: "Very well. There is an object in my neck. I want it removed. It is smaller then a 9mm bullet, silver in color. It is near my spine, towards the base of my skull. Take it out, and hand it over to me. Be extra careful, make sure you do not damage the object, or me. We shall begin as soon as you are ready."
Clairmont
10-10-2003, 16:26
"Well i need x-ray first before i can even think to operate. Knowing the general position of the object is allready a good start but i need to know exactly where it is."

She was allready going thru the procedures how to operate. So it was a possibility that the object was in the brain/spine contact area which would make the operation very difficult.

The sergeant was allready motioning for Private Reed to go and fetch the portable X-Ray unit from the dropships just in-case the Gernomalis base didnt have one.
10-10-2003, 19:06
OOC: well maybe so, but theres some special forces that may or may not be in the country....or I can't add. A typical Gernomalese looks like someone from the Caribbean, so basically either Black or South American but there are some Whites and Asians and other races in the troops in small amounts. Average Gernomalese is 6 foot, slim build, light brown skin, with brown eyes and natty black hair. Dreadlocks, cornrows and many other styles are allowed among the troops so they dun feel like their freedom of speech is taken away, and they are allowed personal effects on their gear as long as it doesn't make em stand out. Of course this is just one of the many private armies that Gernomalis has, some are pretty strict when it comes to troops.

Clairmont: Good idea with the portable x-rays we only have the basic ones that show an imbedded object but do not show alot of detail.
Mercenary Soldiers
11-10-2003, 02:35
"F**k it." Dekker says in frustration as he tosses the mic down into the floorboards of the van. "We'll chill here for a bit, maybe the ADPK'll send someone to snag these things. Hell, maybe they're looking to recruit after this recent bull$hit. I don't mean to quote the general, but 'Revolution is the cornerstone of change'. Hell, I sound more like him every day." Dekker lays his M4 across his lap and sits down, leaning against the van.
11-10-2003, 06:47
*Alexia shoots a look at the Private and Sergeant.*

Alexia: "Get the X-Ray, and anything else Doctor Watkinson needs"

*She looks at the doctor.*

Alexia: "Give me a ball park estimate. How long is this gonna take?"
Clairmont
11-10-2003, 10:07
The doctor went thru the basic procedure and crunched numbers furiously.
"Well before i get those x-ray scans i cant say anything for certain but knowing generally where the object is and how large it is, i'd say atleast 4 hours."

In a minute the private returned carrying a large 50 kilogram handheld x-ray scanning unit with the scanner head at the end of a power cord. It was a good device but not as accurate as the big ones and it had a very limited operating time but it could quite accurately locate an object a bit smaller than a 9mm bullet in the body.

"But lets get on with it so that we'll also get done with it." Watkinsin said and motioned Alexia to move to the clean room.

At the mean time the sergeant opened up the frequency again ,at which Private Reed had spoken to Dekker Bray earlier, and spoke quickly.
"Mr.Bray, remain at your current position. There will be a trooper there soon to finish the deal."
Mercenary Soldiers
11-10-2003, 16:25
Dekker hears the radio go off inside the van, but remains sitting. "Somebody's gonna be here in a bit, but it ain't an ADPK." He points at two of the soldiers. "You and you, hide in the chopper and cover the rest of us, I ain't real sure what to expect."

Krowemoh Live News Main Office, Seiduts Laicos...
\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///

*Dia Lech, Krowemoh's favorite news reporter, read over the file that she had found outside the main office. It contained some pretty unbelievible stuff. An autospy report on a dead ADPK member. But didn't the ADPK mass surrender after their leader was killed by Marines? She had come into the office early to get something she forgot in her corner office. It was still dark outside, just before dawn. A shudder went down her spine: Someone was watching her!*

Elena: "Hello, Ms. Lech."

Dia: "A-A Turk? What do you want?"

*The silver haired neko asked timiedly. She had heard some pretty vicious rumors about the Turks. Some people said that they were Rufus Shinra's personal assassination squad. The blonde neko, dressed in a blue business suit, smirked.*

Elena: "That package you have there. It is terrorist propraganda. Be a good citizen and hand it over to me."

Dia: "Y-yes ma'am!"

*She promptly presents the package to Elena, who takes it and drops it in a carry-all pouch.*

Elena: "Thank you. Now, I suggest you forget you ever saw that package. It'd be better for your health if you did."

*The threat was thinly veiled. Dia Lech gulped.*

Dia: "O-okay..."

The x-ray's had revealed that the capsule was in a very bad spot. Not impossible but hard to operate and Emily noticed than now when the ADPK leader laid on the operating table by her stomach and her neck area was open.

She cursed as she very thinly avoided hitting something vital. The Neko was asleep, the best choice for this kind of operation so she wouldnt notice a thing if Emily screwed up.

Another hour went past as she maneuvered towards the capsule millimeter by millimeter and finally she found it. She grabbed something that she could use to extract the death mechanism and got a firm hold of it and began pulling. But when it had moved three millimeters, it slipped. Emily quickly grabbed it again and now gently pulled the thing out. She examinated the thing in the light of the lights shining from the roof of the clean room. The main part of it was oval shaped and there was a tiny box of somekind on the top. She opened a small transqluent plastic box and put the machine there.

Another hour went past as she sealed the ADPK leader's neck and began waking her up.

<<<<<<Section 6/C Headquarters, Barwhon City>>>>>>>>

"Yes Brant, what is it?" The General asked when the thirty five year old Colonel stepped to his office.

"Well sir, it looks like we have trouble on the information delivery front."

"Go on."

"The KLN news office at Krowemoh should have made a story or began preparing one based on the information we gave them quite some time ago allready but our agents have no information that they have even gotten the information as far as the news office. So it seems that they were "co-ersed" to stay out of making that story."

This wasnt un-expected, but still it was strange that the spook agencies at Krowemoh had learned of the secretly given information this quickly. But that was irrelevant now, what was necessary was to ensure that the fowlness of the Janus Goverment was brought to public knowledge.

The general went over several different plans in his head but none of them would give a good enough solution to the problem. It was obvious that the information needed to be transferred again but this time they needed to ensure that the reporters would make their stories based on that information. The general quickly wrote up a message.

"Brant, send the reporters this message and use secure routes. Preferrably send it only to the few most important reporters in the country."

The message basically told the reporters that they would be protected if they wanted to publish the information and that it was imperative for the future of Krowemoh that those reports of those information packages were made.

"What about the cyanide capsules? We cant protect the reporters from those."

"Well, tech department told me that they got some sort of rudimentary jammer figured out that can scramble the incoming signal before it reaches the transceiver of the capsule. I'll tell them to prepare an appropriate amount of those."

The general knew that the jammer didnt work quite perfectly yet. There was a possibility that the signal got thru despite the interference and the thing had a horribly low range. But it had to do.

Brant scrambled out of the office to send the message.

As the sun still slowy rose from the horizon, The Provocateur Sect began establishing a secured connection with the person the Inquistor Sect had deemed as both skilled and having a high chance of complying.

"Pleasant day to you <Dia-Lech>. We have established an secure connection to your computer//terminal. We wish to make you an offer pertaining the phenomenon called <Armed Democratic People of Krowemoh>. Do you wish to hear more?"

Dia: "What I want to know, is how the hell this... Hacker found out my company's computer IP... Hmm... But, I am curious about the ADPK... Eh, what could it hurt?"

*She moves her mouse, which was shaped in the form of a mouse, and clicked on the window marked yes.*

Dia: "If this is some trick to get me to look at pornos of some overweight ugly hacker, I'm gonna hunt this guy down and slit his throat..."

*She absently rubs the barcode on the back of her neck.*

As Dia clicked the Yes window, all three pop up windows dissapeared and a new text based window showed up displaying the uploading of several large files to Dia's computer.

"Thank you <Dia-Lech>. These files contain information we have gathered portaining the phenomenon known as <Armed Democratic People of Krowemoh>."

The text based pop-up showed all the files had finished uploading at high rate and it dissapeared again to be replaced with the window containing the generic photo of a male Neko.

"Please copy//burn these files to a mobile storag-unit//CD. Then utilise the file <ADPK-is-Terminated> to delete//terminate the files and all memory of their previous presence from your computer. The voice was silent for a small while to allow Dia to get a means of noting the password.

The frequency crackled to life again as the voice of the mercenary came thru and as the frustrated sounding words poured thru the line, Lieutenant Hughes cursed as he noted that it would be his job to get that task done since no-one else had done it yet.

"Hold on mr Bray, a unit is on its way there now."

Only five minutes later, a half squad of 6 men lead by Corporal McCaffrey was running at steady 45 kilometers per hour towards the spot where the mercenary Dekker Bray's men were waiting with the equipment. The trip didnt take long and as they approached their position, the six armor cladded soldiers in their ACS suits popped to the clearing from its edge, weapons held lowered at their sides.

"Who is Dekker Bray?" The corporal asked with a slightly increased voice.

They began a running march back to the Gernomalis base, accelerating to steady 35 kilometers per hour.

The Chinook touched down a dozen or so miles from the platu where the weapons deal had been made. "Let's move people!" Dekker shouts, trying to sound angry. The troops broke off into two squads, loading their weapons with paint rounds and getting practice knives out of the helicopter. Dekker smeared on some grease paint, then donned his helmet, stashing the black berret(SP?) in a cargo pocket. "The objective of this scenario is to capture an escaped prisoner..." The troops shifted uneasily, knowing which person would portray the 'liberated' captive. "Me." Dekker said, confirming their fears. He laid his M4, .45 Hardballers, and his knife down inside the chopper, then headed out into the underbrush. Dekker had an advantage over his troops in this one, he'd hunted an ADPK named Terry Furritail in these same woods. He knew the land, the trees, and the wildlife. "This is gonna be fun..." He muttered to himself and he crouched in the upper boughs of a large tree.

** Petty Heights, Krowemoh **

The Major was on a secure line with the command ship discussing a potential offensive on the government forces.

"...Yes, I can understand what you're saying 'bout us getting involved with the political aspects of this war, but you gotta understand this government of theirs is f*cked up, they killed hundreds of nekos with a cyanide kill switch." explained the Major.

"No deal, I'm not convinced, you will continue to give them weapons and defensive positions and that is all, understood?" replied The Superior.

"No sir, not understood you see, I'm in charge here so basically what I told you was not a suggestion or a request but an early alert of what I'm gon' do, if my bwoys are ready for war, then we gon' give 'em a war, the offensive will begin in a couple of days. Remember this isn't the army, this is a freelance private army, so what I say goes besides, I've been asking around and done a democratic process and found out The Last Chancers want some war action." the Major said with an air of authority

"You're right, you're lucky this isn't the army, 'cause the army has ways of making non-believers see the light.... If this offensive fails you better hope you have troops left over so they government doesn't walk in and knock you flat on your ass. Because if this fails, mark my words you will not be receiving anymore reinforcements from us, have a nice day" The Superior said, then slammed the phone down.
--------
"Private!"

The private entered the Major's office and said "Yes sir!"

"Private, I want you to take these details and distribute 'em to the troops, want 'em to be fully briefed. After you're down that I want you to get on the phone and request support and troops for this offensive from Mercenary Soldiers and Clairmont, I wanna see these ACS in action. I'm sure they'll agree with me, we've sat along too long with our hands behind our back OH one more thing, there is no Rules Of Engagement well, besides not using tactical nukes. That is all, disssssmissed!"

"Yes Sir! What should do first, Sir?" asked the private

"What the?! Son, do you want another busted leg?! Get the hell out there and Just Do What I Said"

"Uh yes sir, sorry fo-for making you upset, sir!"

"Go, do you want me to put you on combat detail! Or maybe you'd like to be on patrol, 'cause those positions are coshy compared to this "dangerous" job of being my aide, idiot. Now move!" shouted the Major

"Its too early." The Army General said quietly.

"Hardly, the time is as good as it is ever going to be." The Major sitting at the other end of the vidlink connection replied.

"Look, the Gernomalis troops are going to attack whether we assist or not. Our message should have reached the media of Krowemoh and by the time the assault should begin, the people should be ready to revolt."
The ACS major continued.

"There are a lot of "should's" in there major."

"Yes there are, ofcourse there is no certainty but sir, this is the time to make a move if we are going to make one. The Janus Goverment does not have a clue about the offensive and thus they cant be prepared for the un-expected."

The General thought about it for a minute. The risks were great. If the 435th ACS Battalion along with the Gernomalis troops failed in brining down the goverment, it would be a political disaster beyond imagination. But, if they succeeded, that would be a complete success. The major was right, the Janus Goverment didnt seem to be aware of that there were offensive forces in the country who were going to fight against the goverment. It was the right time to move.

"Allright major, you got the go. But be sure not to mess it up. We got one chance at this and if you screw it, the higher ups will get your ass if the Janus Goverment doesnt."

The Major acknowledged, saluted and closed the vidlink. His command staff was standing 20 meters on his side and the major walked to them and announced the news.

"Its a go, we will coordinate our offensive with the Gernomalis troops. We have the basic strike plan laid out but i want you to go thru it all over again with the Gernomalis troops."

The three men and a single woman acknowledged and each headed to their own forces and to prepare for offense preparations with the Gernomalis troops.

Dekker waited silently in the tree, watching as one of his soldiers passed below him. He dropped down in front of him, slapping the M4 aside with his right hand, then stepping in to sweep-throw his opponent. As the soldier hit the earth, Dekker whipped the practice knife from the sheath and drew a black line across his throat. "Nice try, son. You'll get me next time." Dekker said as he relieved him of his M4, SOCOM, and the knife. Dekker then made his way through the underbrush, hoping his other troops would travel in pairs. The 'tagged' soldier made his way back to the chopper for the duration of the execise.

"Actually Ms. Sinclair, i was just about calling for Gunnery Sergeant Pappas to get you here. Inside assistance is allways helpfull. Right now what we need is information mainly. We got a lot of satellite imagery, maps etcetera from where we can extract quite a lot of the information we need initially. But we need more, starting with the field personnel numbers and equipment of the Goverment at a 500 kilometer radius from our current position."

The major didnt feel insulted by her last remark. So far no-one had seen the ACS in real action, but his battalion was one of the best. They were the first battalion of the Blood Angels ACS Brigade. Not only were the suits practically walking tanks, but of his men, everyone had atleast 600 hours of simulator time and so many days of practice behind them that no one could count them anymore. They would have a chance allright, but the biggest problem was that they were very heavully outnumbered. Even tough they could propably deal with the odds very highly against them when the opponent was infantry or even tanks, sheer numbers could be their downfall. So Alexia was right, they did need her help.

"And Ms. Sinclair, you havent seen us in action. No one outside our military has, but soon you will and im pretty sure you will thank god by that time that we are on your side. But now, tell me everything you know about the Goverment troop disposition in a 500 click radius from this position."

"Of course not, we'd be happy to have your expertise on this endeavour, hopefully we'll be able to locate some more survivors of the ADPK. I'll have a meeting set up with our tactical planners, if you need anything just ask." the Major said, while holding a cigar in his mouth.

** Elsewhere in Petty Heights **

Troops were getting weapons ready, vehicles maintained and plans finalized, however The Major felt that there just wasn't enough troops to do a full out assault on the government forces, so what the overall plan was, was to strike a location and when the government forces moved out to mount a counter-attack, a small special operations squad would move in and sabotage the place. Squads were given last resort orders in case it was impossible to break away from government forces, the first was for EVAC. If that failed or wasn't possible they were to split into small 2 man squads, evade and return to bases and outposts, and the last plan was the most somber. The troops were to engage and fight till either they had won or were killed. The uniforms had no nationality or any other indications of what country the troops were from, even the weapons were from all over as to futher confuse the government forces.

"Major." The ACS Major Walters said to the Gernomalis Major he was in the briefing with, trying to get his attention.

"We dont have any real spec ops troops present here at this time. So we would need you to provide us with couple of Spec ops teams to set up some havoc and hassle at two of the biggest army bases ,within a 200 kilometer radius, that have a lot of transportation capability, so that i can strike them quickly and be out of there before they can get enough re-inforcements in place. I wont ask you to do anything massive, no unnecessary risk. And with hassle i mean something like blowing up ammo and fuel dumps, disabling generators, stuff like that. Anything that affects the deffensive coherence of the enemy badly."

"Well, we have the spec ops, and if you have the location of these bases they will fo sho have a blast, and I do mean literally." replied a captain with a laugh

"Gentlemen, and lady, this is the captain of the 13th Last Chancers, Captain Dwayne D'Gardia." said The Major

"Heh, I've been hearing you've been refering to yourself as The Major AGAIN, And making sure other people call you that. Folks if you must refer to 'im, call 'im Major Teroake. I swear I've never figured out why you do that But anyways on with the details. We'd sneak in and basically tear the place up! hooah! Hell forget sneaking in, we'll let 'em know what fear is, heh it'll be like being run down by a bull and all you have is a whistle."

"Uh, Dwayne we dun need it destroyed, jus disabled. Unless Major Walters wants it flattened" he turned to Major Walters and asked, "It's your call, and remember they're not called the Last Chancers for nothing. Anything is possible with 'em" added Major Teroake

OOC: When did Krowemoh relay the message? BTW Dekker and his team can hassle a few bases, for a price.
19-10-2003, 02:45
OOC: is this the relayed message you were talking bout?

The corporal grabbed the radio and put it inside the same storage locker where he put the card Dekker gave. His men had allready gathered the crates of weapons, carrying them with ease with the help of the mechanical musculature of the ACS suits. They began a running march back to the Gernomalis base, accelerating to steady 35 kilometers per hour.

The team arrived back to the base only an hour and a half after they had left. The corporal quickly went to his company commander because of the message the mercenary had given who instead relayed that message to Alexia Sinclair.

Walters gazed at D'Gardia and grinned inside. He was just the right person for the job, unless ofcourse he started ramboing and got his team killed.

"Captain, your job would only be to create some ruckus and hassle at those bases. Not flattening them. The bases we are going to be targeting are big and even if you could carry enough explosives to flatten them, the Krowemoh troops living in them might be a bit pissed off. So, i'll give you the co-ordinates, timeframe and mission objectives."

"Besides, you cant have all the fun, my boys have been itching to get in some real combat with the suits for the last 4 years."
20-10-2003, 13:15
*Alexia nods.*

Alexia: "If you're thinking of raiding a spec ops base, you'd better be prepared to take some loses, as it ain't gonna be no walk in the park. Expect lots of guard, and tight security."

*That was her bit of advice.*
Clairmont
20-10-2003, 15:22
"Nope, not those ones yet Alexia. Our first targets are bases that have a large vechile compliment in them. My boys are a lot more maneuverable and agile than a tank, and if we can get a large amount of their vechiles and armor taken out before they have time to deploy, we have a real advantage."

"We can strike to two. I will be sending two platoons to each target. Would you happen to have information on such bases? Preferrably in a 500 kilometer radius from here."
20-10-2003, 19:26
"Suits? Why would your troops wear suits? Even if they were giving away Armani pin stripes, I wouldn't wear those into battle, no camo and plus grass stains are hard to get out....HOO HOO I'm teasing, I heard 'bout these ACSs, so I waan be alive to see these in action. Right, well my team's the loaded gun, all you gotta do is point and shoot and whatever's in our way we'll tear into. When's this operation starting?" Said Dwayne, with a southern kind of drawl that is common in Atlanta, Georgia. (OOC: Dwayne is 5'9, kind of stocky with a very friendly face)

"Well, that's uh good to hear, Captain, I'm glad you're excited 'bout this" Major Teroake said while shaking his head in mock embrassement "We have a large amount of air cover available, whoever once we use it the next time we need it they'll be more alert and ready, so only use the air support as a last resort. As well, I want a high ranking officer captured AND brought back alive, I dun wanna hear that *you captured him and he looked like has gonna make a run for it so you shot 'em, again*." Teroake said while giving D'Gardia the 'remember what happened last time' look

"Well, Sir, the funny thing was that umm that he was trying to run though AND we didn't kill 'em, he jus died later...from the wound"
added Dwayne

"Yes, well so was your whole squad....you were leading the squad in a fast moving action to get back to the chopper" retored Teroake

"Sir, we're the brightest, scariest and smoothest unit in this here army" said Dwayne with heavy cockiness

"Heh, speaking of acting cocky, Dwayne....your fly is low" Teroake said while laughing.

Walters merely rolled his eyes in amusement. And replied to the suit comment.

"Well, my boys like to go to battle looking stylish. And as long as you wont go ramboing on the mission, you will be alive to see us coming in. And i'd say that we will be starting at around 48 hours from now. By then i will get the latest satellite recon and my units prepared."

"Also, im sure Captain D'Gardia can handle one officer captured. I'd rather leave that to him anyways, my ACS will be moving a lot faster than a regular trooper on foot much less a prisoner, it would be a bit too troublesome for us to haul him out and the Captain is the Spec Ops here."

OOC: Your wish is my command MS.

"Hey sergeant." The ACS suited trooper called for the slightly differently coloured armored suit 5 meters in front of him with its back turned to the private approaching.

"Yes private?" The sergeant replied never turning to look the private closing on him.

"I was wondering, those mercenaries we met earlier esterday. They seemed pretty good and they were damn well equipped. We will need all the help we can get if we want to pull this off so should we try to get them to help us?" The private explained, he had been one of the troopers who had been sent to get the weapons crates that the mercenary Dekker Bray had offered. The corporal leading the squad had made a report of the event and the sergeant propably somewhat aware of what private Reed was talking about.

"Good idea Reed, the major would propably want them along if he had known about them." The sergeant replied again. The major never had gotten a report of the mercenaries, such a small even was not worth reporting as far as to the major when there were so many more important matters to attend to.

"Get to Coproral Higgins, tell him that i ordered him and 3 troopers of his choice to go and contact and recruit these mercenaries." The private saluted briskly and strode away.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<30 minutes later>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The four men were jogging at a steady 40 kilometer per hour pace towards the clearing where the mercenaries under the command of Dekker Bray had resided. Soon they popped thru the forests edge to the clearing and the corporal stepped a few paces ahead of the squad and tuned the volume of his external speakers slightly up.

"Dekker Bray! This is Corporal Higgins of the 435th Battalion, we have a message for you."

** Petty Heights, Krowemoh **

The 13th Last Chancers had completed their final long term preparations for the base attacks, now it was time for each man to make their own preparations. Those who had families and cared about them wrote out wills, best wishes and other letters of that nature. However some of the more off the wall characters, who weren't considered or scared about facing death, just took in the anticipation of the coming battle like a drug, as the hours counted down they were getting tenser and tenser, wilder and wilder. Some practiced voodoo, some indulged in their own form of religion, drinking and drugging. Dwayne knew better then to try and stop the more hardcore members of the troop, alot of them were hardened criminals sent to off to duty and die for their country with some shred of honor, kind of like the Dirty Dozen unit of world war two. Dwayne just sat in the unit hut with some of his close friends, playing cards and waited for the call.

Since our either of troops and services are no longer needed in this country I was wondering if you and your troops would be interested in entering in a partnership, weapon sales. Re: Weapons, and all that jazz

While we don't have heavy lasers guns, we have do have pistol and rifle that utilize fusion to shoot and when they hit there isn't any mess because the wounds are caturized, however some training would be needed so they don't blow themselves up with the power cell, those would be for the trustworthy and smart clients. We have in the heavy weapons, gauss gatling cannons with the appropriate harness.

A strong built man ran towards the Chinook where Dekker's men were standing idly. He was out of his ACS suit for the first time in 52 hours and it felt weird, but Lieutenant Simonds hardly cared.

"Mr. Bray, if you please come this way and we'll get you briefed with what you need to know."

<<<<<At the same time at the other side of the compound>>>>>

"So Major Teroake, are your Last Chancers ready? They need to depart in the next 4 hours before sun goes down and execute the strike at approximately 00.10 to the base that Alexia pointed" The ACS major spoke to his colleague and continued shortly afterwards.

"So in essence, your targets are fuel depots, ammo dumps and anything that blows up really nicely. Dont take unnecessary risks, just create a lot of hassle and then get the hell out of there." The major finished and turned to Alexia who was accompanying the two officers to respond to her.

"Ofcourse Ms. Sinclair. But understand that you will mostly have to be with the Gernomalis troops. You dont have a ACS suit and since its a part of ACS combat doctrine to be moving very fast and under enemy small arms fire, you couldnt keep up with us and you would be life threatening situations even when we arent."

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<KLN News office>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The human agent could hardly hold his chuckle at the skepticism of the Neko he was speaking to.

"Well, im sure a lot of tabloids get their information from shady agents of foreign powers dont they? But if its more proof you want, then you shall have it."

The agents hand disappeared inside his jacket again and now returned with a minidisc.

"Here is a recording of the autopsy, from the start to the ending with the doctor operating, reporting to the tape on what he sees. Ofcourse, you may yet consider even this as faked but you can make a check on the audio track of it and see that it has not been modified."

He retrieved yet one more thing which was a very small plastic box with a tiny capsule inside it.

"This is the capsule we retrieved from one of the bodies we opened up. You can easilly analyze what has been inside it and as you can see from the recorded autopsy disc i gave you, this matches what was retrieved from one of those Neko's. Unfortunately this is as substantial as it can get. If you still doubt this information then i must question your intelligence. There is more trouble in trying to falsify or make up all this evidence than there is what can be gained from this. So my question is, do you want to make the story of your lifetime, one from which you shall be remembered for a hundred years after this day, or do you want to contineu on with your life with a kill switch at the back of your neck just waiting for Janus Mew to get angry at you and trigger it?"

"Major, my troops are suited up, helos fueled up, and jus waiting to blow stuff up Haha" replied Dwayne "Major, nice meeting you and I'll see you when this operation is over." said Dwayne while shaking hands with the Major
"Teroake, make sure you got a beer ready for me when i get back" asked Dwayne, he gave a salute to the majors then left to get his gear and weapons

"Ya got it!" Teroake shouted down the hall at Dwayne

** 1 hour Later **

The Chinook lifted off with a Huey equiped for carrying the prisoner. The Chinook was only carrying 30 troops, with assualt rifles, explosives, heavy weapons and rocket launchers. The plan was to strike the base to draw the troops out then retreat into the forest for a day then return to strike at night, this time the team would attempt to capture an officer for "questioning" as well as destroying the rest of the targets. The helo flight would pick up low flying fighter support when they were half way to the LZ, ETA was 11.30pm. The team would split up into 4 squads, two squads with ten and two with 5 each. The smaller squads would carry out the actual sabotage mission while the larger squads cover the entrance and exit of them and worse comes to worse, help fight their way out.

Captain Dwayne leaned over to Alexia and asked "You ever been in a Chinook? How 'bout a Chinook landing in heavy ground fire? Makes a hypnotic beat on the hull." Dwayne grinned alil, showing off his gold tooth. Dwayne wasn't the greatest at making that big motivation speech, but what he lacked in calm, soothing words. He made up with his jokes and calm demeanor under fire

The 1st ACS company of the 435th Battalion proceeded quickly thru the forest, towards their target area. They were well in schedule even tough maintaining a steady 60 kph pace in a forest was bit tricky.

Captain Slight, the commander of the company was a cheery old fellow. He enjoyed playing music immensely when in suits and since the comms net between the suits allowed very high quality sound, the troops were often the victims of listening music like Rob Zombie's Scumb of the Earth and Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner. But they liked it also, it raised battle morale and it got the troops to the right mood when the music in battle was right.

It took them 6 hours to reach the last waypoint and wait for the fireworks to show up. The company of 150 men was still quite deep in the forest but the scouts deployed by Slight would notice immidietly when the Last Chancers begun their show, altough the distance was still easilly 60 kilometers, the image enhancing and sensory systems of the suits along with the positions of the scouts allowed them to spot the sign with relative ease.

"Allright fella's, check your guns and get ready we are going in soon. Remember the battle plan."

He glanced at his troops and while doing it, checked his heavy pulser rifle and made sure that the magazine wouldnt jam the gun while feeding the 7mm darts to the firing chamber. At the back, the heavy support troopers checked their MK-21 Tri-barrels and heavy flechette cannons. Oh yeah it would be messy allright.

*She pats the military grade high power rifle reassuringly. Unlike the others, she was wearing her trademark leather outfit: Red top with black pants, and matching leather boots. Underneath the outfit she wore a bulletproof vest, as well as Kevlar padding on her thighs.*

Alexia: "How long have you been in the service?"

*She attempted to make light talk, something she usually did right before going into combat. It was an old habit that refused to die, much like her.*

No doubt she'll want to keep a lid on this if it's true, and me opening my mouth and blabbing... Well, let's just say Janus isn't internationally known for her mercy shown to those she deems traitors... Look at the ADPK: Once they all surrendered, she had each and every one executed by a firing squad. I hear it wasn't a pretty sight."

The lone scout trooper observed the path of the Chinook with slight interest. He had no idea what was the company's standing orders with Dekkers troops but he was sure that he would find out if he needed to.

At the same time, an ACS platoon of the 2nd company of the 435th Battalion was allready on its way towards the destined landing zone of Dekkers Chinook. Their task would be to give them as much help as possible.

"The cyanide capsules are triggered via a frequency that we have managed to determine. The transmission is on a very tight band and very short but we have developed a rudimentary distortion system which allows us to jam the frequency it is using." The agent explained carefully. Ofcourse he knew that the jammer wasnt a 100% sure deal. But it was all he could offer against the kill switch. The Petty Heights base was too far away for the reporter to be transported there for removal of the capsule and it would take too much time. It was crucial that the story was made in the next 24 to 26 hours.

"Also, the ADPK never surrendered. That was a simple lie. Janus outright murdered them using the kill switch. Its not better or worse than the firing squad but Janus needed to keep the kill switch as a secret and ofcourse he couldnt reveal how the ADPK really died." The agent replied and stood silently, waiting for the reporters answer.

"Service eh? Well you gotta understand something 'bout Gernomalis. It has alot of civil strife and fighting, there are hundreds of gangs, milita, and crazy gun nuts who've banded together, some have permenent hide-outs, others are nomadic and raid, pillage and destroy small villages, so the new plan of action is to only set up a community if there are enough people willing to move and build. The government forces keep the cities and surrounding areas relatively free of any raiders but the jungles, mountains and valleys are no place to be without a gun. I got my start in a local block gang called the Rude Bwoy Killas, after 'bout five years my crimes caught up to me and the judge said either i join a government army or life in hell AKA a prison, so I did the dumb thing and joined the Government, been with 'em for 'bout ten years, but I've only been out the country a few times. See this tooth?(OOC: It's one of his main front teeth) I got it put in after a bullet went through the back of my neck and out my mouth, some gang we were fighting, caught me, shot me and left me for dead. That was OOOO I think 8 years ago, heh and I'm only 30."explained Dwayne, with a remembering look in his eyes

"See that guy with the snake all the way down his arm? Thats Miguel, he and I been in the same unit for six years, hes my right hand man, so to speak. When we touchdown stick with him, if you want to stand behind, if you want to see the fireworks up close, follow me" stated Dwayne

"ten minutes to LZ!" shouted the pilot over their headsets, even Alexia had been issued one. Nothing fancy, capable of transmission sending and recieving range of 25 miles away, however it only had a basic scrambler so long distances calls were rare.

Dwayne looked at Alexia "How'd you end up leader of a freedom fighter group? Must've been with blood, sweat, tears....and very little brains" Dwayne said in a teasing good of way, attempting to lighten the mood.
29-10-2003, 06:53
*Alexia listened with rapt interest. When Dwayne asked her about how she became the leader of the ADPK, her face goes nuetral.*

Alexia: "Believe it or not, my older brother was the original founder of the ADPK... Nicholas Cage and Venessa Franis, they both started the ADPK and were the leaders until Princess B*tch had them kidnapped. No one knows what happened to them, but I will find out what happened to my brother, even if I have to smack Janus around myself to find out!"

*She tigtheted her grip on the rifle, her jaw rigid and set. A fierce fire burned in her eyes.*

Think of it this way, everyone of those bastards you kill, will bring you that much closer to the truth, I know it's kinda cliche but it might help." added Dwayne

"five minutes to LZ, you might want to start last minute checks." the pilot chimed in

"So, on another topic now, what are you gwaan do? Hang back with Miguel or help set explosives with me?" asked Dwayne

The distance was now 30 kilometers from the target base. At maximum speed the 1st company would get there in 20 minutes. Captain Slight gazed the clock at the right upper edge of his HUD, the show should be starting very soon.

Behind him the platoons of the company had allready arranged themselves into formations. They were as ready as they were ever going to be.

Dekker's voice floats over the radio. "When we gonna start this shin-dig?" The sounds of rifles being cocked in the background punctuates his statement.

"Touchdown, that's get the hell out of my chopper for the stupid" shouted the pilot, with a slight touch of kindness.

In under a minute the Chinook was cleared of all gear and troops, the pilot took off with a bit of showboat flying, making one of the Last Chancers to comment "heh, I hope he hits a tree"

"Ok! Miguel take your squads and set up defensive positions here and here" Dwayne said while making a dirt map "we'll give you a 5 leeway, then we move!"

** Five Minutes Later **
After the confirmation came in from the squads, Dwayne's squad would have been ready to move..had they not left two minutes earlier...

** Ten Minutes Later **

"Ok Danny, you and your squad cut the power and move to the southeast of the base, will give you 15 seconds to move out of harm's way and into defensive positions in case we need to fight our way out." Dwayne whispered, he watched as the squad left then continued "ok, this squad is the demo squad...you all know the drill, get ready for the power outage, and make sure you have your suppressors tight. Alexia, you're with me"

The lights around the base shut off, leaving the Government Forces in a state of confusion, followed shortly by the soft pops of guns equipped with surpressors and silencers firing. Dwayne and his squad moved quick to place the explosives...

((OOC: Hmm... This is Glendoma Refueling Facility, so it's... Relatively open, with some buildings, mainly fuel tanks and car hangers, with a central control tower, and gun towers at each corner of the base and an electrocuted chainlink fence surrounding the base. The gun towers sport .50 Caliber box fed machine guns on mounts, hologen spotlights, and ports for snipers to shoot out of, so keep your head down. As for man power. Ummm... I guess... Somewhere in upper tens? Upwards of ninety soliders and three to six attack droids for guards, around twenty techguys and people who repair stuff, and ten drivers for the trucks that carry the fuel. So um... About 130ish. That sound alright? ^^;; A communications array is standard for almost all military bases and is manned twenty-four hours a day, so in the off chance any given base comes under attack, a message can be sent out immediately to request assistance and to warn others in the area to beef up security.
Soldiers are Army Regulars and Reserves, armed with Assualt Carbines such as the standard issued American made M-14s and FN-Fal 9s. the Attack Droids are spider-like battle bots that seek and destroy intruders. They can be equiped with a variety of weapons, but for fuel depots the most likely arament would be .25 caliber machine guns, equipped with Jacketed Hollow Point rounds. They are about knee height to an average human, and scurry across the ground on four legs and have two large red lenses surrounded by eigth smaller red lenses. They're fairly armored, but not entirely bullet proof. A clipful from an assualt rifle would put them down.))

"Johnson, what do you see?" Slight questioned the scout trooper reconing the fuel base with his enhanced sensor suite.

"Well sir, nothing to be extremely worried about. Four towers with 50 cals, about a small company worth of troops plus technicians, my scope says 130 personnel total. No heavy armament, some small bots with what appears to be MG's." The trooper reported.

Slight grunted in satisfaction. The intel seemed to be rather accurate, which had stated that there shouldnt be anything the ACS couldnt handle in there, that had been a major over-estimate.

"Capn' " Lieutenant Callaghar called over the comm.

"Yes?"

"This is goin to be one helluva short fight."

"Really Lieutenant, you think?" Slight replied to the lieutenant sarcastically and opened up the channel to the platoon leaders.

"Allright boys. I want 1st Platoon to assault thru the northern fence. 2nd Platoon from the East and 3rd from the West. The command squad and two of the Reaper suits will cover the South." He knew that he was repeating the plan for the 5th time but it was allways good to be sure.

Dwayne moved as close to the center of the base as possible, then dug into one of his pockets to retrieve a device the size of a lipstick container, he threw it onto the roof of the comm array. The device is a IR painter, meant to guide in airstrikes, it hasn't been activated and would only if the shit really hit the fan. Dwayne had already used a half a clip(nine bullets) of his 9mm, killing seven people, to get to into position, when Alexia had told him about the bots he radioed the squads the information, he had also locked and loaded his .666 caliber SMG affectionatly named The Hellbringer. With a hundred-twenty round and only taking three seconds to empty thirty rounds, it was essentially an automatic elephant gun which through sheer force alone would tear a limb off or leave fist sized hole with one round, he kept it on single shot mode because of the mess. He wasn't worried about taking out the bots, he was about them getting him first. When Gerry had heard about the bots he decided to forget stealth and arm his Spas-12 automatic shotgun loaded with 12 gauge flechette rounds, it was said that he carried "more shotgun rounds then a paranoid redneck". Gerry had been beside Heath when the bot attacked, it tore into Heath with an inhuman fury, Gerry tore it apart with his Spas-12, it had taken 3 rounds to drop it.

"Placement insured, one KIA, I got a likkle bot, tough lil ting, took tree rounds of mi shottie, moving out" came the statement, it had been from Gerry, he had completed his objective and was on his way back to the "safety" zone.

After ten minutes and four KIAs, three at the hands of the bots and one by a suidical soldier who, though shot three times pulled a pin of a grenade and held it as Renforth walked by, the all clear call came and Dwayne was about to blow the charges, when he heard that the ACS were in the base. "ACS squad come in, we have set the charges. We'll blow the charges and let you mop up over and out" stated Dwayne. He hoped it wouldn't be a long night while activating the IR painter.

"Roger, Ground Pounder, I read the signal. One minute to deliver, over and out" stated the pilot. A minute later the F-22 swooped low and released a incendary bomb, first it would punch through the roof then detonate inside, levelling the building and with the force of blast spread fire all over. thirty seconds after the bombing, Dwayne set off the charges, bathing the area in a sickly daytime-like light and amber glow caused by the burning fuel

Losses:
Army: 20 killed directly, im sure alot would be killed in the explosions, all the bots,
Dwayne's Forces: 4 KIA, 2 wounded
OOC: The reason I have higher losses is because after the bots attack there would be alot of noise because of the lack of surpressors on shotguns and assault rifles, so more gunfire means more troops alert, forcing them to fight their way out I figure anyway.

OOC: Gernomalis, edit your post a bit, my troops arent in the base yet. Remember the plan was for you to mess up the base and only after that my fellows come in and clear anything that moves. Also, considering how the task of your boys was to cut the power etc. the casualties for the Krowemoh army is a bit high. But ofcourse, that depends a bit on the size of the base. The more ground to cover, the easier it is to avoid contact.
02-11-2003, 06:34
((OOC: Not that I mind the numbers you posted, but only 4? The snipers alone could inflict more then that: Lack of cover besides the car hangers turns the base into a firing range for the four snipers on each corner. And all the bots? When I said they weren't bullet proof, I didn't mean they were weak as rabbits. They're quick little buggers, and they usually don't stay in one spot long enough for you t put three Shotgun shells. Sorry I'm being a b*tch about it. V_V Also, Suicide soldier? These are Army Regulars and Reservists, comparable to the US. If at all possible, they'll try to stay alive and take out the enemy fron afar.
The Last Chancers will have it easy going in, being that they'll have the element of surprise, but they'll have to fight their way out.))

*The power went out, and immediately the workers in the control tower/comm center went about restoring emergency power.*

Techguy: "Jackson, Smith! You two come with me! Peterson, send out an SOS as soon as we get the emergency power generators up!"

*The trio of nekos in orange jumpsuits ran down a flight of stairs spiraling downwards, to where the diseal powered generator was stored. The sound of a shotgun was heard as they passed the door. The one in the front looked to the ones behind him.*

Techguy: "Shit! We're under attack!"

Blake: "Terroists?"

Techguy: "Does it look like I know?! Let the army guys handle it! Let's get the power back up!"

*In the gun towers, the soldiers manning it don Night Vision goggles, and man the .50 Caliber machine guns. The snipers began to pick off any intruders they could see, and anyone stupid enough to stick their head out. Within minutes the power was up, and an SOS message was sent out to both the Shin-Ra Tower and a few nearby bases.
*Just mere seconds after that, the F-22 came flying in, dropping an incendary bomb on the Control Tower. The bomb went in through the top level, and exploded, incerating most of the techguys and a handful of Army Reservists. The bots, safe on the lower levels, were unharmed by the bomb, and were activated immediately to hunt down the intruders. One was lost already.
*In one of the car hangers near the outer fense, a squad of Army Regualrs crouched, waiting for the intruders to pass so they can spring an ambush.*

"Allright you maggots, lets roll!!" Captain Slight yelled over the company channel and in unison the 150 ACS troopers began a 90 kilometer per hour running march towards the base.

It didnt take long for them to cover the trip to the camp and once Slight noted that all the platoons were in position, he gave the attack order. The Grim Reaper suits which were the heavy support ACS suits, fired few quick streams of 50mm grenades from their shoulder attached grenade launchers. The high-explosive munitions dropped over the fences, ripping them apart. Only seconds after they had finished putting a hole thru the fence where to go thru, their 15mm Tri-Barrels went to work on the guard towers. Spitting 15mm death with a muzzle velocity of nearly 3000 meters per second and 150 rounds per second. Return fire came from the towers in form of .50 caliber machine gun fire but they were incapable of penetrating the battlesteel hardened shell of the ACS suit. The Reapers finished off two of the towers with a few high-explosive grenades.

1st Platoon was conviniently for their name the first to clear thru the fence and to the camp, when they were there, their HUD targeting assisting systems made good work in showing them any targets radiating heat a few men in the platoon had their sensors modified for the best efficiency in quickly detecting the possible remaining bots. The system showed them the distance to target and gave the best aiming point so that the shots fired by the weapon of the trooper would have the best effect. Pulser rifles spat 7mm high-velocity darts against any heat signatures except for Dwayne's men who's parameters were identified as friend in the suit systems. 3rd Platoon was the second to clear thru the fence and they began to move towards the center of the base, dispatching any Neko's carrying a firearm as they went. 2nd Platoon was the third thru to the camp and they took the vechile carages, repair areas and fuel tanks as their targets. Their tri-barrels tore thru the fuel tanks with relative ease and ignited the extremely flammable liquid inside, more fireballs went up and lighted the night.

The return fire was now intensifying, the ACS suits were nearly 240 centimeters tall and even tough they were painted with a matte black/dark grey camouflage which fit the night very well, the light from the fires of the fuel tanks and fires going over all over the base, showed where the ACS suits were quite well and even tough the suits could move around very fast because of their suit enhanced reflexes and muscles, the sheer weight of fire made it impossible to avoid the incoming rounds. But as had been noted, the equipment of the base personnel was relatively light. The assault rifles couldnt penetrate the battlesteel shell of the ACS suits and so far, no anti-tank missiles had been shot towards the troopers. A few grenades had been thrown towards them of which the first few had been quickly thrown back and the remaining ones had exploded near ACS troopers, showering them with shrapnell, heat and pushing them with the overpressure wave. But so far, there were no casualties.

"1st Platoon, send a squad to secure the Control tower, 3rd Platoon secure the area!" Slight roared to the company comm channel while firing off streams of darts from his pulser rifle. The CO of the 1st Platoon immidietly complied and sent two squads of 6 men towards the Control tower to secure it. 50mm Grenades went flying again as the one Reaper suit among those 12 men fired a stream from his shoulder mounted launchers at the entrance of the Control tower to make a hole big enough for 4 ACS to enter at the same time.

Losses:
Opposition: around 30 to 35, 2 of the guard
towers taken out, no bots encountered yet
ACS: 0

OOC: I decided to use similar casualty posting system as Gernomalis does, easens up the going of the battle a bit. Also, the opposition casualties were pretty much those who were in the immidiate entry assault area of the ACS company and those who didnt have time to seek cover from buildings in the first few minutes.

When the power was restored, that was when the snipers let their presence be know. Three more Last Chancers were cut down by sniper fire and the rest took cover, they avoided areas lit by the burning fuel. Dwayne looked around to try and find Alexia, he found her using a shack as cover on his right. Things had quieted down after the intial sniper attack and only one other soldier was cut down by carelessness. Their were two plans that were running through Dwayne's head.

One: Hold position and hope the ACS unit would be able to break the stalemate.

Two: Put surpressing fire on the sniper ports with two grenade launchers and one heavy machine gun they had and make a break for the holes in the fence.

Either one was risky and crazy, it was a matter of what would take less casualties. The original number of squad members had been twelve, now they were reduced down to four after underestimating the snipers. A steady chant was heard to his left and saw The Haitian sitting cross legged, leaning against a car. Dwayne had an idea of who he was praying to, it was a Haitian Voodoo prayer but thats all he knew.

The air felt slightly electric as he continued the chant, slowly a dark cloud surrounded the Haitian, when he stood up and then the barrage of bullets came at him from all directions, the bulllets didn't pass through the cloud and hit him. When he walked his figure appeared to be have a image of him in front and behind him, as well as multiple images of him appearing and disappearing in random places. As this was happening, Dwayne got a third idea. Get miguel to set up the mortar and hit the two sniper post that had them pinned down. He contacted Miguel and went to work figuring out co-ordainates and landmarks(OOC: Don't worry, I'm not gonna make him go around and kill people, I got a slicker plan, this was just a quick post.)

Trooper Burton smashed thru a wall of one of the smaller buildings and noted the room to be clear. Troopers Elgin and Dixon followed shortly behind him.

"Allright, we are near that Gernomalis Team's position now, they are pretty badly pinned down by snipers. Lets give them some of our famous cover fire and help them get the hell out of dodge."

The two other troopers acknowledged and the trio bursted to the other side of the house, mere 15 meters away from the position of the 4 survivors of Dwayne's team. Their pulsers immidietly went up and targeted the sniper positions and sent streams of high-velocity darts at them.

Meanwhile at the other side of the base, Lieutenant Hudson was quite busy blowing up the vechile depots. Altough the firepower he carried was formidable, he found out that it was a lot easier just to attach some plastique at the vechile carages and let them blow than shooting them full of holes. Another Krowemohian army regular jumped up behind his cover and fired a salvo from the assault rifle he carried, at the hulking shape of the Lieutenants ACS suit. The rounds hit and ricocheted away but even before the last round had hit, the Lieutenants pulser rifle was up and a stream of 25 7mm darts tore thru the body of the Neko who had shot at him.

The center of the base was also full of activity, Corporal Link dispatched another soldier inside the Control Tower that had been attacked by his squad and another squad of 6 ACS troopers. The corridors were bad places for the ACS, little room to maneuver and the size of the suits made it difficult to move. But luckily, there were a lot of rooms and the corridors were often short so there were little problems.
03-11-2003, 00:59
...The Haitian then walked behind a small building and found what he was looking for, a body that hadn't been shot in the head or spine. He sat down beside the body, said "cover me, i need five minutes" then proceeded to start the chant of resurrection. Five minutes later, the spell was complete and the mind control working, The Haitian decided to run a test so to speak.

"First question, Name?"

"Jerry, Jerry Longpaw"

"Next" he said with a slight smirk. "Who is your daddy and what does he do?" he said in his best Arnold impression

"Daniel Longbow, Lawn care worker"

"Good, take this charge, put it in your pocket, then walk up... he continued with the instructions

Five mintues later, Jerry stumbled up to the door of the sniper post and told them what happened, the version The Haitian told him to say. He walked in then when the door was closed The Haitian hit the switch and blew up the bunker.

"Bunker clear, I...I need help, someone come here, I'ma enter into a trance coma an...." The Haitian slid down the wall and blacked out. Dwayne heard the tranmission. He spotted two soldiers creeping over to where The Haitian was, he switched his SMG to burst and fired. Even though the soldiers were behind a jeep when Dwayne fired, the sheer force of the six rounds tore through the jeep and into the two soldiers.

"All squad members, and that means you too Alexia, move out to the meeting point, I'ma stay here with The Haitian and wait for the ACS to arrive, will clear up orders from there. Now move out!" Dwayne ordered.

With the one sniper bunker destroyed, the three remaining along with Alexia got the hell out of the base, taking out five more soldiers and one bot.

Private Burton quickly sweeped the area around Dwayne's Team for hostiles, he found only two behind a cargo container and judging by their movements, they were preparing to toss grenades at the position where Dwayne was.

"Oh no you dont." Burton hushed silently and fired a long 2 second burst thru the corner of the cargo container and thru the bodies of the two Krowemohian soldiers. Now, the immidiate area seemed to be clear and the three ACS troopers made their way towards Dwayne. Burton closed on him and saluted briskly. "Hello sir, nice evening we have here. Do you perhaps need assistance?"

Trooper Dixon had allready gone to check the Haitian, his vitals seemed to be ok but the sensor readings indicated that he needed to be get to a hospital pretty quickly.

Elgin remained at guard while the two other troopers prepared to help Dwayne's team out of the base.

Dekker and his troops bust out of the front door of the building, only to be surprised by a pair of spider-bots. .25 rounds rake the doorframe, and Dekker empties a clip into the first bot. His 2nd in command, Tyrone Miller, finishes the second off. Two of Dekker's men had been hit, but the small .25's hadn't penetrated the composite shockplates in their bodyarmor.

Dekker keys on his tactical mic. "Bray to attacking forces. We're moving towards the command tower."

"Sweet mother of mercy! That's an ACS?! Those are huge! Thanks for the cover fire" Dwayne shouted, returning the salute.

His ears still ringing from the 6 round burst he had fired at the two soldiers behind the jeep, then when he looked down at a hole in his shirt. "Well, what do you know? I got hit" on closer inspection of the hole. "Damn, it's nothing, I'm wearing a vest. I'd 'ppreciate it if you would get us the hell out of this base. It's just us two" pointing at The Haitian "I've NEVER seen anything like what he did, first....." Dwayne explained in the best way he could what The Haitian did.

After he was done telling the story, Dwayne dug the slug out of the vest, and checked his weapons to see if they needed new clips. "Copy Bray, this is uh...." trying to think of a callsign"...Colonel Breed (OOC: lets see if anyone gets the reference). Do you want us to stick around and provide cover? Over" he radioed back.

"And now we wait" Dwayne said quietly to himself, looking around at the destruction around him, the flames casting weird shadows over his face.

"Private, there's one small request I have, and that's retrieve my dead bredren's dogtags, I kinda dun wanna step out into anymore small arms fiyah" he said with a chuckle.

The remaining troops had met up with defense squads and told them what happened, who was shot. For some, the news of the deaths didn't bring saddness or guilt, but a loss of dutchies(OOC: my nation's currency)because the troops had a pool going on who would die.

The private listened to the Captain's descritpion of what the Haitian had done and altough he wasnt really a scientist and didnt know much of this stuff, he guessed that the Haitian had used a combination of telekinesis and mind control to achieve what he did. Afterall, a dead body still has electric current running thru it even after death and dead persons still can for example twitch their leg. But something like this he hadnt ever heard before, he didnt believe in magic and that kind of mumbo jumbo but nonetheless it was damn impressive. He brushed these thoughts aside and responded to Dwayne.

"No problem sir, allways glad to help. We'll get the dogtags of your men. Elgin!" The other ACS private did as asked and quickly paced between the dead Gernomalis troopers, gathering the identification tags hanging from their necks. The other trooper returned in a few minutes, carrying the dogtags of the fallen men in his right hand, he handed them over to Dwayne.

"Allright sir, we'll get you out. My scope says that most of the activity is now where the rest of our ACS boys are, i can only see around a dozen or so troopers and they shouldnt cause much tro-" Just as Burton was finishing his sentence, Private Elgin noticed one of the spider bots only 12 meters away, but this one didnt seem to have a weapon. Elgin didnt even bother to yell a warning, he simply raised the massive heavy pulser rifle he carried, assisted by the enhanced relflexes of the ACS suit, and ripped the bot apart with 50 high-velocity rounds. But instead of dropping and dying, the bot exploded in a bright fireball. The pressure wave didnt even nudge the two fifths of a ton weighing ACS suits but if it had been nearer, the explosion would have done damage.

"Damn, oh well i guess we better start getting the hell out of here before there are more of those things coming." Burton said to Dwayne and nodded to Dixon who effortlessly lifted the Haitian on top of the ACS suit's left shoulder.

Dwayne and The Haitian made it back to the meeting point with the ACS squad, so far a counter-offensive hadn't happened but the squads were still in position. If dawn came and no counter-attack occured then they would move out to another base. Unfortunatly, covert ops were out of the question because of the high probabliity that the base warned other bases of the attack, even with the comm array destoryed.

"Bwoys and gyal, those who made it through your first intanational mission, are able to get tree hours of R&R at the rear of de defensive line. However, if a counter-attack happens, you'll be required ta drop what ya doing, and get back to the front, Undastood?" A chorus of "Sir, Yes Sir" and "Ya, Whatever" followed Dwayne's statement

Dwayne walked over to Miguel and said that "There was only five more hours left till they EVACed the area, returned to base and strike another target, this time with mobile artillery and heavy weapons. Screw subtlety and bring the pain"

Miguel nodded his head and said "Welcome back, oh glorious leader. heheh. Better call Julius with the debrief of the mission and to get your beer ready, and one for me too senor".

The Haitian had regained consciousness but was was willing to goto The Haven and recoup, because noone else was sure what to do with him after they heard the story of his psychic and telekinetic control.
