Due, to the Crisis of the Emirates (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=85060) caused by the corrupt regime of Al Anbar (an expelled member), all new members must complete a period of Membership Probation before being fully considered a full member of the United Emirates alliance.



Formed out of the alliance of two long hated enemies, the United Emirates has existed for years, slowing gaining authority and influence in the world. Building strong allies the United Emirates have been lead for the Interim by the Drakonian Imperium. Until now, as the alliance rises in power a new council is being established to govern the affairs of this powerful alliance of nations.

For months there has been a relatively quiet lobby in ISAN favouring application to the United Emirates alliance. Continued good relations with Drakonia through difficult times has significantly strengthened the lobby, and recent realisation of ISAN's vulnerability when left to stand alone brought the issue to the Office of Government.

The FBCo.plc Board finally gave its support to the proposition, and the nation soon followed.

President Eustace Brown of the Incorporated States of Andaman and Nicobar tenders the nation's application for membership to the United Emirates.

ISAN will not be joining the UE region, does intend to visit the UE forums, and is currently debating membership of the Greater Drakonian Economy- it looks likely that the Drakonian Doubloon may be accepted as legal tender without fully replacing the current economic system.

(ooc:A few things not likely to be admitted ic, but which may possibly be known to Drakonian intelligence at least (due to their long-term involvement in the islands): There is official tollerance and equality in ISAN, but the white Christian population tend to *just happen* to do better for themselves, while the Arabic Muslim population makes up most of the middle class, and the Indian Hindu population, which is a minority, makes up most of the lower-classes. Their religion is officially recognised as one of the three stars on the ISAN flag. Officially they are equals. Perhaps one could draw parallels with the US's Latin and black populations.. )

Andaman and Nicobar, the Drakonian Imperium is glad to welcome, it's longtime ally into the United Emirates. We look forward to the increasing Diplomatic, Economic, and Military Power that will be degerated by this new admition and the stronger ties it will build between our nations.

Alcona and Hubris, a thorough investigation is underway in both the Drakonian Diplomatic Corps. and the Drakonian Intelligence Agency (DIA), as well as all relevant governmental branches in the Imperium and the United Emirates onto how the information on Al Anbar could have been so wrong. It currently appears, that the important data from the DIA was misplaced somewhere in the bureaucracy, but no final conclusion has been made, yet. To prevent such failures in the future a probationary period has been instigated to weed out such corrupt, oppressive, and terrorist regimes.

The Dyelli Beybian fleet will be given sufficient time and warning to avoid conflict between the allied liberation nations and the honorable government of Dyelli Beybi. Also no attacks or military actions will be taken in any Dyelli Beybian holdings. However, if Dyelli Beybi continues to interfere in this internal United Emirates matter we may well be forced to engage only those forces in and around Al Anbar. This, of course, hinges on if there is no other way to instigated the necessary reforms in Al Anbar.

The Imperium is truly sorry that it might have to go to war against Dyelli Beybi, but if necessary it will. Still, we are will to initiate discussion between the Federated Klatchian Coast and United Emirates on this matter. If there is a way this can be resolved peacably we will try it.

You put so much work into this request... I feel guilty for declining to join.

Under the Constituion they have the right to do as they like in such foreign affairs that do not interfere with the other States of the Federation, nor the territorial integrity of the Federation. Therefore, we should note that your stance on the Tzar's involvement excludes this possiblity. I would like to note that the actions of Consul O'booze is not actions of the Privy Council as a whole, nor the Joint Military Force of the FKC. His actions are only as his responsiblities to his own State dictate.

We hope that our actions, if we are forced to take action against Dyelli Beybian forces in the Al Anbar Theather, will not be view as an attack on the Federated Klatchian Coast or the nations therein. We hold these nations in high regard and would not want to stumble into a senseless war with them.

Galdania, we would be glad to consider Galdania's membership in the United Emirates, should your nation decide to enter our ranks. We see no reason why Galdania would not be accepted.

OOC: Thanks, for the comment Crimmond. It actually didn't take that long. Anyway, hopefully other will think the same and join. Not that I am trying to guilt-trip anyone.

But all that work....

The ISAN will celebrate to-night following news of its acceptance into this worthy alliance. Mr.Giles, a member of the FBCo.plc Board, and of the ISAN Office of Government, and often seen as President Brown's right hand, has arranged for expensive Andaman and Nicobarese teas to be sent to heads of state in other member nations.

Tea may not seem all that extravagant, but when one considers how little space there is for its growth in the islands, and that the native tea-leaf is almost extinct, one may better understand the Dutch tulip-bulb-like value of the leaves.

Back in Liberation, President Brown shifted nervously on noting Gladania's interest in the alliance. ISAN had herself only just been accepted, and he did not want to over-step his bounds.. but Gladania was hardly Nicobar's favourite nation. The two states were opposed over the Dunyabian revolution, an affair which now seemed stale-mated, much to the annoyance of Brown and his accountants, and Gladania's powerful nationalised economy was an afront to Brown's way of doing business.

Plus it was apparent to the president that Gladania probably wanted from the alliance more than it would.. more than it could give back. Grunge-France? I don't think we want to fight them, he fretted.

Oh well, now is not the time for distraction, there are more pressing matters at hand..

OOC: Having a few thousand troops in Central Boroglia isn't stripping my homeland of anything, Lusaka. Besides, those estimates of my troops may or may not be correct, especially since the supplies of tanks and such for the Central Boroglian Army had to come from somewhere... :)

Greetings fellow allies and friends. The matter in Al Anbar, is considered by the UE to be an internal matter. The Government of Al Anbar knew that violation of charter, could result in military action on the heads of state. Unfortunatley, simple diplomacy will not force Saddam from his throne, thusly we are forced to act.

While it is Dyelli Beybi's perogative to defend Al Anbar, how ever much we discourage this action, it will not be taken as an act of aggression on the UE anymore than the Theater in Al Anbar is an act of aggression on the FKC.

Andaman and Nicobar, it is an honor too recieve you, into the hallowed halls of the United Emirates. Of course, Acumen, our intelligence agency. Will be performing a thorough background check on your governments actions in the past. This is simply because of higher security precautions following the Al Anbar incident.

I am Nathan Hurst, the new Prime Minister of Fyreheart.

The Ministerial Cabinet and I are very interested in joining The United Emirates. For a long time now, we have enjoyed a solid role in the United NationStates Anti-Oppression and Tyranny Organization. However, upon the death of former Prime Minister Amethyst Fyreheart only months ago, the government has begun to express interest in taking on a more leadership-oriented role in world affairs. We respect UNAOTO, but with an already solid leadership, there is simply no opputunity for that.

Fyreheart is truly a nation of the people, devoting many resources to civil rights, and our top priority at the moment being easing religious tensions which have recently begun to surface.

Our economy is truly impressive, having maintained a UN rating of Frightening for well over two years (two months RL).
